  1. Maybe Hoid used Aon Ene to overwrite the curse rather than actually edit any Aons? (Basically, adding extra modifications of his own and invalidating part of the original modifiers) Like, maybe the Sorceress just stated "the Sorceress' Home", and the Aon had to define what that meant via Intent but Hoid defined the Sorceress' Home as specifically the Rock. Because I don't think Hoid could just delete part of the Aonic structure, if he could then this wouldn't have been a problem in the first place. I'm not sure how curse became verse though... But maybe Aon Ene strikes again? Ene isn't just the 'add modifier' Aon, it also means "wit". Maybe Hoid defined the meaning of Aon Ene to change it into the latter.

    Embrace

Yes! All the yes! That's a beautiful artwork, Hyoukane!
  3. ...I believe Vivenna, Sisirinah / Siri and Fafen also had a brother, though I forget his name So Queen Vivenna of Idris... and Prince Consort (someone look up the guy's name), husband of... uh... Queen Susebr-... Queen Susan? Let's go with Queen Susan
  4. Or... is Susebron going to give up his Divine Breath after Siri dies? It's a possibility But I certainly like the possibility you presented better!
  5. Iirc, in the book, that wasn't the case. Only the base Aon Aon was drawn with the chasm line... but... that might still have been an incomplete Aon, just complete enough to work. I think the Aons might work even better if the chasm line is drawn for every Aon Aon
  6. Wait, was Moonlight = Shai confirmed?
  7. It was a beautiful book! Quite a few amazing quotes regarding the nature of memories that'll stick with me. The setting of the story was amazing. Anyone else's heart just about stopped here? (Ch 60) Because, ouch. But I also kinda wanna read a version of the story where... y'know where I'm going with this It was really great! Brandon has come really far
  8. Excuse me, just listing the Aethers we got so far Twelve Oceans + Twelve Moons + Twelve (Thirteen) Aethers Emerald Sea for Verdant, which grows vegetation Rose Sea for Roseite which grows (silicate?) crystals Sapphire Sea for Zephyr, air Crimson Sea for unnamed, spikes Midnight Sea for Midnight Essence unnamed Sea for Sunlight, light The thirteenth Bone spores Aether (I wonder if that refers to Fainlife? Did Fainlife come from Aethers?) So... the Midnight Mother is a Corrupted Aether Also the Ire built Elantris! Called it! (Hoid needed membership to a group to become Elantrian) I think Hoid was narrating the story to someone from First of the Sun, given how he was talking about magitech and the way he referenced navigation & Aviar That rocket at the end killed me As did the laptops, hah. I think those are Seons? Lightweaving is scary. It really only sank in with the Sorceress using it Aons are really the best magic. Creating geas and transmogrification & mental curses. So scary! White Sand... is making me really curious with how it behaves, it's very similar to Aethers. Also seriously, that magic just looks more and more pathetic with time. Also that's two people (possibly two Dragons) living beneath a sea, studying Aethers (or perhaps Xisis and Foil are the same entity?) Oh and Hoid referred to capital-F Fate again, and referred to her as "her", so... the final Shard? Luhel Bond, a new kind of Bond! Also how the metals influence other magics. It's interesting that Preservation’s alteration of metals? means they have an effect beyond that of the Metallic Arts. First Fabrials, now this. I wonder how the other metals might work with Aethers! First canonical appearance of Dragonsteel! It was mentioned in The Lost Metal that the legend of Ironeyes has spread onto other worlds, kinda like the Cosmere version of the Grim Reaper, but I was still surprised when Triss directly referenced him! Also Hoid said something very alarming: Uh-oh. RIP Rock /just kidding... hopefully
  9. Nope, I don't hate Moash either! There aren't a lot of us, but there are a few!
  10. Reading Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park and Scott Smith's novelization of the Ruins They did not f around Sheesh Brutal
  11. Oops, I missed that it's four including Bjendal
  12. It has a Perpendicularity and is called a "primary system" (Since they counted four... one being Roshar, another obviously being Sel, probably another being Taldain as Autonomy closed the Perpendicularity, and the last being... First of the Sun?)
  13. Thanks. Ah, from the epilogues, no wonder I missed it. I was probably just blankly staring ahead for the most part at that point
  14. I caught the gold haired thing but missed the red haired thing. Can someone post an extract, please and thank you in advance?
  15. The other new Cosmere location namedropped was Bjendal And it definitely has a Perpendicularity and a Shard (or an Avatar)
  16. Oh I noticed that and wondered! But I didn't catch the legality part, damn, good eye!
  17. I think I saw those death flags just fine but was just deluding myself *sigh*, goodbye Wayne A lot of callbacks to era 1 in this book, from Wax’s slaughter (with Vin and... crazy Mistborn guy who could hear Ruin in WoA), Marasi's solution to Trell (with Elend and Atium in HoA), and of course Wayne's choice (and Elend's choice) Hoid on the boat kinda affected me emotionally, that was also kind of a parallel to him being a light in the dark to Kaladin Wayne's thoughts in part 1 were phenomenal I loved Bilming as a setting, much more than Luthadel or Elendel or New Seran, its quite something to imagine Also, loved Marsh's intimidation Cosmere tidbits were interesting here, a planet and a possibly planet / possibly location on the Cognitive Realm was namedropped (I don't think we've heard of Mythos before) Interesting bits of lore on the Aethers planet (also I'm seriously wondering if the Aethers might seriously not be Adonalsium's) Oh and our first time seeing a Sho Del on screen... and mention of the Yolish gods... which are apparently still a thing... just what are these things? What is Fainlife? Ugh Harmony is close to becoming Discord, which was not unexpected. I wonder what that "shadow" of his is, some kind of Avatar or something like that forming? It feels like future conflict between North and South might happen, and future conflict between Harmony and Autonomy, but much more juicily, future conflict between Harmony and Kelsier, they're both hiding things from one another
  18. I see what you did there Oh you explained the title in the undertext (seconding the recommendation for the First Fifteen Lives of Harry August) (also, now there's nothing for me to read till Crystal Awakening releases at the end of the month, help) (good god, it's like an addiction problem)

    The new map

(I should really stop hanging around the spoiler zone for a while but I just couldn't help myself, goddammit) I'm not too surprised. We never did see the borders of the era 1 map, the potential for the two continents to be connected was always there.
  20. I can't say I expected to read about Wax snorting Godmetal dust today...
  21. Wax is feeling the effects of Savantism Well, obviously they're trying to get a bomb into the city, that part was a bit obvious. Good deduction to realise the existence of the bombs though "like a coin balanced on edge… a gulf on either side" ... could be what Trell wants, unbalanced Harmony. A way to kill Harmony. Trell Invested Scadrial... interesting. Trell having a metal would've been a hint. Hmm... what do you mean Trell Invested Harmony... that shouldn't be possible... is Trell going to turn out to be an Avatar of Harmony? Ah, Trell Autonomy confirmed. I certainly wasn't expecting to see that answer in a pre release. Already don't like Autonomy. So what, Telsin has something like a Nahel Bond with Trell? Even with a Trellium spike, it counts as Hemalurgy so Harmony can see, so was it this shroud that hid Paalm before? Is the last vial for Atium, I wonder... or perhaps Lerasium?
  22. Currently reading the Heretic’s Guide to Homecoming It is, quite possibly, a romance, I cannot (yet) tell, but most importantly, it’s a fantasy travelogue, and a journey of dealing with anxiety, quite a relaxing read.
  23. So... Wayne is now a business tycoon... and introducing spectator sports to Scadrial... a very interesting sport too, it seems Aw, Steris! Safety protocols, people! Allik is a total househusband supreme! Investiture to energy conversion! Oh my, there's potential here Hahaha, yeah, it does seem better to have the money now, lol sand medallion is an interesting term for pearl, I like it All hail Wayne, the best accent coach in the Cosmere!
