  1. She had sworn two truths before then, which is consistent with being Third Ideal at the time.
  2. Didn't a lot of that come down to Syl being able to change shape while an Honorblade can't + being able to heal any hits he took while Szeth had to avoid them all? I might need to look over the scene again more closely, though, it's been a while since I first read it.
  3. They mine it for Soulcasting, so it does seem to be breakable. Curious about how deep it goes as well, though. Similarly, I wonder what happens if you keep flying up?
  4. Keep in mind that she didn't corrupt the Oathgate spren willingly: We don't know if the consent thing is a requirement or a choice. If it's only a choice, then she could have been "compelled" to do it regardless. Makes me think of what Hoid says:
  5. His spren is confirmed to be alive: Besides, regardless of the WoB you'd think the other highspren would notice if it weren't.
  6. Given the way Gallant acts as if he's used to galloping without gravity, I suspect that for them the spren and horse minds aren't as distinct as for a Radiant, especially since their intelligence comes from the bond in the first place.
  7. Moash would be a genuinely hilarious troll move, it makes no sense but part of me is rooting for it now just for the audience reactions xD
  8. Well, that's assuming the experiments would be terrible for her. Honorspren already survive longest, and Syl has been growing more and more human to the point she (fake) breathes now. It's even brought up a couple times in the chapters so far that she feels more at home in the Physical Realm than she ever did in Shadesmar, which is foreshadowing if I've ever seen it.
  9. Almost certainly Nale, but setting him aside probably Szeth. His command of his Surges in the prologue is greater than we've seen Kaladin display even now, and he's trained with all ten so he should have a good baseline skill in Division already. Remember, he didn't lose to Kaladin, he gave up. Well, okay, now Kaladin has Shardplate which gives him a huge edge, and so does Jasnah. So actually those two are probably the most dangerous. But if Szeth reaches the Fourth then I'd give him first place again.
  10. How would they all still be running when Shallan is all the way in Kharbranth, and does not have her Lightweaving back yet? And Radiant + Veil are part of Shallan's mind, not fully separate illusions. Why does that need explaining? We see others.
  11. We have a viewpoint from Balat when Shallan is busy in Kharbranth, and Kaladin killed Helaran in Alethkar.
  12. Holy crem, been a long time since I've seen you here. Welcome back! Nale's sworn the Fifth Ideal but still has his spren as a Blade, so while presumably the melding of souls will get stronger, I'm not convinced it ever becomes complete. Well, I guess the souls could meld completely but minds remain distinct? Still some degree of separation either way, though. This feels plausible. The spren refer to Roshar as female, and Wit seems to equate the Wind listening with Roshar listening: I'm not sure about Kaladin. There's good reason to think he could Ascend, but I think the interpretation that the "fallen title" Rattle refers to him taking up the cloak and becoming king of Urithiru feels plausible too. If he does Ascend, the most likely option seems to me to be either Wind (he has a habit of claiming the wind as his own but making the distinction that the storm is merely a place he visits) or Honor (Child of Tanavast), becoming the entirety of Roshar feels less set up imo. Also, we still don't know why Dalinar was counting off the ten flashback characters in Oathbringer—might that be related somehow? As for Szeth... No idea honestly. He's in a place where I could see his story ending really well or really badly. I want to be optimistic enough to believe that he will "become truth" as Ki says about the Ideal of Law, though, because my poor sad boi deserves all the happiness :( It is interesting that both he and his highspren seem to think he's going to achieve it quickly: Despite the masters discouraging people from worrying about it, he and his spren seem convinced it's the natural next step for him and won't come too far behind the Fourth.
  13. The audiobook cover actually has a lot more (14, with space still left offscreen that could hold several others): It's the top of Urithiru, this article includes the pitch Isaac and Brandon gave Michael and Tor: Presumably there's heavy artistic license involved, because in Oathbringer ch. 4 we're told it's over a hundred yards wide:
  14. From our current information, it seems the plan was just to imprison the Fused for eternity, the whole cycle of Desolations was never supposed to happen (Oathbringer ch. 38): The Heralds were apparently somewhat analogous to champions: Which explains one of the Stormfather's lines in the prologue: And might be why Rayse is so salty in Oathbringer ch. 122: Perhaps Tanavast got him to agree to some sort of contest, but the Oathpact somehow worked around this (keeping the champions from ever dying so it never ends?), which left him feeling like Honor is a dirty dirty cheat? Honor seemed fairly unsure that he would agree (The Way of Kings ch. 75): Ultimately, the only reason he did is because he thought he had Dalinar in his pocket and could freely set the terms in his own favor. After that, it's implied the power pressed Rayse into negotiating because it was fed up with him delaying what he had promised to do.
  15. Saves space since spoiler boxes are collapsed by default, unlike quote boxes. The Oathpact was solely Honor's doing, but the Oathpact is only indirectly part of Odium's binding, there's something "greater" keeping him in place. Presumably this greater thing is what the Stormfather is referring to with "AS ODIUM IS SEALED BY THE POWERS OF HONOR AND CULTIVATION".
  16. Stormfather claims she's part of it, OB 38: Guess he could be lying but I'm not sure why he would be here, and I'm not sure where he'd get a mistaken impression of her involvement from either.
  17. They refer to the Sibling as "the parent".
  18. Moved this to the Wind and Truth + Cosmere board, as it discusses Wind and Truth + the Cosmere.
  19. Brandon has implied that Harmony is suffering consequences from Ruin and Preservation's deal even though he controls both sides:
  20. Brandon has confirmed they are not human-honorspren hybrids: Though the wording does leave open the possibility that they could be pure honorspren brought over like Ishar's experiments, to be fair. But personally I think it would be weird for the Stormfather to be so shocked it's possible if it's already happened, so while I can see the logic of the theory I don't follow it myself.
  21. My guess is it'd pass onto whoever the Stormfather picks next, or perhaps even Stormfather himself if he doesn't bond anyone in time. Now that could be very interesting...
  22. He was willing to sacrifice all the rest of Roshar for Kharbranth before, though.
  23. He does reference previous bonds, yeah.
  24. It's an interesting idea for sure. I don't know if Taravangian is willing to go that far to escape though? Keeping his home safe has been the top priority this entire time. ....Dammit, there is the "watched his homeland fall into dust" Rattle you posted.....
  25. The "wait a thousand years" term got removed during negotiations. All that's at stake in the final contract is: Alethkar Herdaz Dalinar's soul No matter who wins, the coalition and the Fused each get to keep all their other territory and Dalinar and Odium both have to work to maintain the peace.
