dawnshard Let's make groups of four, RoW edition
Halyo_Alex replied to mathiau's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Oooh, I like these. I think I might believe you on the Aspire dawnshard too, I haven't heard of it before but I do like the idea... Hmm. I wonder if Aspire was used by Edgli during the Awakening of Nightblood as part of the "funny business" going on with his creation? Lemme check for WoBs on Nightblood's Awakening and see if I can suss out something like that. Yup, found it after a solid 10 minutes of searching. So maybe Aspire was a part of awakening him. -
Partially unsheathing Nightblood does seem to give supernatural strength to the user, even without holding nightblood directly (iirc this happens with Szeth at some point, he punches someone with super strength just from doing that with Nightblood, but my memory is always shoddy so I might be mixing stuff up.)

Ooh, I forgot about that. You might be onto something. I mean, if any being (other than TLR) is going to know the right Intent for a Blessing, it's gonna be a Kandra, right? What about Paalm? I think she made her own spikes, but those were Trellium and granted allomantic/feruchemical abilities, so I don't know if those qualify as "real" Blessings like the ones TLR made.
-
This, I doubt. I think this might be either just Progression's normal temporal effects, or a "resonance" (not the kind that usually is associated with the term) between "Prediction" and Progression. Personal hypothesis on what the Void of Progression does is create (grow/cultivate) Midnight Essence to be turned into constructs/fake spren/whatever you wanna call them.
-
I'm curious how convoluted the Intent for making a Kandra Blessing in particular is. Like, if you know what a Blessing is, can you just basically think "I want this spike to have the same charge as a Kandra Blessing" as you're spiking someone? I doubt it, because then the Kandra would likely be able to make them themselves. Only the Lord Ruler could make them... Is it just a knowledge barrier, or do you require Fullborn capability to be able to make Blessings? I have this weird hunch that you might need to basically make an unkeyed metalmind out of the charged spike in order to make it heavily Invested enough to make a proper, sentience-restoring Blessing... Could be totally wrong though.

Why's that? I haven't seen nearly any evidence for a fourth power from Renarin, just the Void of "Prediction" mixed with/replacing Illumination (maybe warbinding idk) and Progression.

Yep. That's how i thought about it too.

I think he bumped out cadmium and bendalloy for Atium and Malatium mistings, since everyone thought Atium and Malatium were the external temporal metals anyway.
-
Yup. I'd bet Glys' blade form is a triple metal alloy. Can you somehow alloy Atium and Bronze and Gold (example) all together and have it be viable?????

All I'll say is that if I were a Windrunner, I would want that to be the 5th ideal. Making the world a noticeably better place overall is something I'd put so much storming time and effort into.

also: Cognitive Shadow + Hemalurgy. Ghost Blood.

They're touching Nightblood though. That's bad. Being NEAR nightblood is not great, but you won't be vaporised.

Well I suppose it comes down to how, realmatically speaking, Larkins consume Investiture from other objects.

Mostly because Taln, in all honesty. Enduring so much pain for so long... But there could totally be something like Pebblespren or something that's like a Windspren equivalent to a Peakspren.

Big brain: Both sides have good people and bad people working for many different groups and it's not as simple as "roshar good" or "scadrial good" people are more complex than that and Brandon knows that.

That would be pretty dope. Lemme know if/when you make it happen. -

Sounds like cosmere fanfic potential to me Not that I'd do the concept justice, so someone else ought to try if they want to. -
Technologies to be replaced with metallic arts in Era 3
Halyo_Alex replied to Oltux72's topic in Mistborn
Fire retardant clothing will be a must to discover, then. Whether by using ettmetal to mimic f-brass (risky, because reactivity) or just typical flameproof materials.
