  1. Something to keep in mind. Not counting the Skybreakers because we don't know how many of them there are, Roshar has less than a hundred Radiants of the other 9 Orders. Only 2 of those are 4th Ideal. Machine gun fire would eat through a Radiant's Stormlight to keep healing them. As such, Roshar can't really afford to just throw Radiants at the enemy in any way other than guerilla attacks.
  2. A Windrunner will run out of Stormlight far faster than a Mistborn will run out of metals. Regularly in the books Radiants burn through their Stormlight in mere minutes whereas Vin was shown to have hours worth of Pewter, the fastest burning of the basic 8, on her constantly but just so happened to run out only at plot critical moments. Between Bronze and Tin, a Mistborn should be able to see any lashings coming and Steelpushing should be plenty to dodge that. Add Leaching in or Atium and a Mistborn could wreck a third ideal Radiant
  3. I wish we knew how fast Malwish airships were. Our only hint is Kelsier's comment that he was twelve hours from Bilming and was over water. This implies that he was crossing the Sea of Lennes but that sea is so big that depending on where he was over the sea could have drastic implications on how fast the airships are.
  4. An addition to the gun portion. Scadrial has reasonably long range artillery as well
  5. So this is very interesting I've also known "slow children" but short of an actual learning disability, they still in general learn faster than most adults. It's just that people are comparing them to other kids. Also most of the slower children I have personally known, it's often been more of an issue of retaining their interest in a subject than an actual difficulty learning. I don't think I am overestimating it, the amount of knowledge and skills children develop in a very short time frame. People if anything underestimate how much kids have to learn just to function in society. Skills and understanding don't leave as quickly as factiod based memory. I know a lot of people in their 70s and older, short of dementia and other things like that, most have not forgotten skills they developed unless they have been unused for a significant time but instead forget things more along the lines of names or dates or numbers. Factoids that can be stored in Copperminds basically I can understand that, but I hard disagree with youth not affecting those. Your age is both a result of all those things and a determinator of them. We actually have multiple examples in the books of Gold increasing biological healing rather than just undoing damage. Kar is left with scars from Vin's attack, I believe Sazed had scars from Marsh Pushing rings into him (though those scars might be from the surgery to remove them), and Wayne when tapping slowly to preserve his Health developed scabs and fresh skin like someone healing naturally. Based on examples from the books it would look like when tapping slowly that you heal naturally if at an accelerated rate but that there is a threshold where it goes into full Investiture healing Edit because I didn't notice this I think your math might be off on this. If you're 45 and make yourself 90 for 3 days then you have 3 days of 45 years of age stored up. Not 1 day of of 38 years Like I said in the initial post, the Keepers never seemed to have known about the advantage
  6. I know plenty of 60 year olds with pretty decent memory, and if you are that worried there is your Coppermind to ofset it. The point I'm making is you can develop skills and build better comprehension as a child than just storing information in your Coppermind alone.
  7. Nothing here changes my argument. Yes you could use Zinc during your initial schooling years, but how many times have you needed to learn new things after you left your childhood? Let's say you are 30, spend a couple hours each day as a 60 year old while you rest rest and likely are storingother traits too. Make yourself a 10 year old a couple hours a day while you study. Kids often learn subjects by studying for a couple hours at a time too, and they often pick things up significantly faster than adults because their brains are practically hardwired to learn
  8. They clearly had enough Atium to use it as a disguise, plus WoB indicates a decent of youth can be stored in a bead. But I agree, threy probably never tested for real advantages. As far as having a memory in a Coppermind goes, while that is tremendously useful in itself, but nothing compares to developing a proper understanding of the material. Compare it to us having the internet, sure you can have access to all sorts of information but it will still be less useful than truly learning it.
  9. My favorite single ststem is AonDor. I like the programming like feel to it the most.
  10. I find it interesting that, at least according to Sazed, the Keepers didn't notice one of the biggest advantages of Atium Feruchemy. Making themselves children in order to study and learn. Young brains, especially that of children are phenomenally better at learning and creating intuitive connections to develop skills than adult brains are. My only guess is that between Zinc and Copper they thought their memory and mental processing abilities were sufficient but there really is nothing like a child's brain to pick up information and skills
  11. Pewter makes you more resistant to temperature extremes, but burning metals in general give a feeling of warmth
  12. I personally very much enjoy House War. The rpg is enjoyable but the mechanics do have a few issues
  13. Secret History is the only example we likely can point to with Fortune. When Kelsier gets a look into the Spiritual Realm he knows what he needs to do even though he isn't 100% sure why it will work out. I've always considered tapping Chromium to be similar to the luck potion in Harry Potter where it's not so much that fortunate things happen but you have an almost instinctual knowledge of what you need to do to have the circumstances you desire to play out.
  14. That could still be present in the form of Savantism to the point of death
  15. Possibly that the North and South are just one continent, but because of the narrow land bridge they mistake them as two separate continents. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sea of Yomend and Sea of Lennes are relatively shallow and is part of the continental shelf.
  16. Love these map overlaps
  17. The way I see it these are the likely possibilities Brandon decided not to retcon Atium Sazed is having the Kandra alloy the Atium dust with Electrum to produce the alloy Or that Atium's Feruchemical effect remains constant whether it is pure or an alloy
  18. His Goldminds were pretty much drained, he likely wouldn't have had enough time or Gold to Compound enough to survive an explosion that immense
  19. Honestly I would be surprised if Era 3 is more than a century after Era 2. Scadrial is already at turn of the 20th century on average and even ahead in some parts of development.
  20. I also think that Wax is a Mistborn. Just a weak one. He seems to be using Tin near the end of the book to see the ship through the Mist for example.
  21. Thinking about scenes with Sazed in this book I've started wondering, does Sazed have a long term plan he's keeping hidden? Reading the book most of his scenes he seemed practically impotent and unaware of anything going on, yet several things do seem to go in a way that helps his goal. The Set, even though they were working for Autonomy, did create several advancements in technology from radio communication to motion picture and now to ballistic missiles. The Bands which were under Kandra care mysteriously ended up being drained and are now in the hands of the Malwish who will likely find some use for them to enhance their Fabrial technology. Autonomy's influence in the world was greatly reduced leaving him the only Shard on Scadrial again. And Basin politics are stabilizing. All of that alone one could say he got very lucky, but then you factor in his lie to Kelsier and that he's squirrelling away Lerasium and seemingly planned for Wax to become a Mistborn it might very well be that things worked out for the most part the way he wanted them to. I'm sure not entirely how he wanted to as he implies he "hoped" more would have happened with Wax and the explosion, and Autonomy is an experienced Shard who likely could have blinded him somewhat. I'm not sure if anyone else got that feeling after the epilogue with Sazed and Kelsier but that's how I ended up feeling after reading that.
  22. One reason I don't think they were Skybreakers was that there was no comment of Steris about their height, facial features, or accents. Those would be pretty distinctive things I'd imagine Steris would notice.
  23. This is the relevant line That seems to me to be him implying he can Steelpush
  24. So it seems that the Ghostbloods on Roshar aren't operating the way that Kelsier would want them, or at least there is dissention in the ranks considering the implication that Iyatil was "running rampant" and that her brother didn't seem happy that Kelsier chose to spare Marasi
  25. A question to add to this, why did he imply he could Steelpush when he was talking through the Seon? My current thought on this is it might have been some deal he made with Harmony Rosharan traders like Nalthis has maybe I thought that was what the scene where Elantrian Moonlight drew the basin implied was happening I imagine the Aethers are not fan of the Shards or their games
