I doubt it would work unless the Fullborn let it happen. A Fullborn would have access to greater strength than the Plate has. Plus they could move faster than the spren making up the Plate could move. In direct combat, the Fullborn only loses if they aren't taking things seriously

I think you are looking at it backwards. Basically from what we learned from the epigraphs is that all metals seem to have a relationship with Investiture. Aluminum's relationship is that it acts as an Investiture sink. So what makes it odd isn't that it is a metal that has a relationship with Investiture, even if that relationship is blocking Investiture, no the odd thing is that it can be used in Allomancy and Feruchemy.

Compounded chromium and other cosmere "fortune"
StanLemon replied to Tamriel Wolfsbaine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I consider it a lot like the luck potion from Harry Potter. Not real luck per se, but a strong sense of what you need to do -
Kaladin. With Plate he's faster, stronger, and more durable than Kelsier. He's the most skilled human on Roshar who isn't a millenia old semi divine being. Whereas Kelsier is at best only the third strongest Mistborn in Era 1 and has access to only half of the metals.

10x is based on what has been said multiple times, though I generally am more along your lines of thinking that its a metal just being burned and the amount of a trait you get is based on how strong you are as an Allomancer. However that presents its own problems as that could potentially mean it gets multiplied much more than 10x. A couple small beads of Pewter could last an hour or more flairing them so who knows how long normal burning would last. Spend a couple minutes storing with strength then burning them would give you hours worth of strength.

Even though I would prefer to be a Fullborn, and even though Fullborn are the biggest combat monsters in the Cosmere, a Full Radiant would be more powerful in general terms I think. The laws of physics do get pretty pliable in the hands of the Surges and they would be able to do more overall than a Fullborn would likely be able to do.

An interesting takeaway from TLM that I haven't noticed anyone talk about yet, is the Set was able to measure the Investiture in a Hemalurgic spike. Being able to measure the amount of Investiture something has will be very important and I'm curious how they can even do it

His regular Allomancy was, but he still had Atium in his stomach that was the fuel for his future sight

Interestingly, the amount of Investiture that a Metalmind can hold is hard to determine. The Bands was made of multiple metals, so each individual Metalmind was even smaller than the Bands as a whole, yet held vast quantities of Investiture. Other Feruchemists though seemed to need larger storage. For example, Sazed used Steel bracers to store his speed, which likely was less than the amount the Bands held.

Divine Breath is hands down the best healing we've seen in the Cosmere. It was not only able to heal a tongue that was cut out at an early enough age that there is no realistic way Susebron could have had one as as part his self perception and was able to give him the ability to use it naturally for speech. This bypassed self perception and went straight to the ideal. I could see it healing Kaladin's scars. Another form of healing that seems to bypass self perception is AonDor. It seems that the correct forms are more determinate than any kind of Cognitive aspects

I think even breaking into the Spiritual Realm with Electrum would still focus any future sight on yourselves. The main reason I think this is because as Kelsier died he got a peek into the Spiritual Realm with Malatium and it was focused around Rashek's past. Though I do agree that Scadrial has likely one of if not the best future sight potential. Also there is this about pure Atium which seems to be the Duralumin effect without the need for Duralumin

There is definitely power creep, but even more importantly for me the Fused ended up being...disappointing. They are supposed to be these ancient immortals who have honed their Surge and are meant to be a real threat to the Radiants, yet what we've gotten are enemies with a singe gimmick use of their Surges who despite their age aren't monsters at fighting despite literal millenia of fighting.

Mistborn, Feruchemist, Awakener, Surgebinder or Elantrian?
StanLemon replied to Ati16's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Elantrian. They have enhanced mental faculties, immortality, perfect health, hard to kill, and the most versatile magic system known in the Cosmere. Just have to worry about major natural disasters that alter landscapes. Though probably could find a way around that. -
Mistborn V.S. 3rd Ideal Lightweaver

I'm pretty sure you are over stating his strength. The events of the book that I recall do not support such overwhelming strength. Vin on the other hand was able to wield a sword as big as she was and was cutting through Koloss limbs with that same blade even though it was most likely at least partially dull Since when does Stormlight give enhanced senses? -

Why wouldn't Bronze be able to track the active use of a Surge? Please explain how you know he's way stronger than someone with Pewter. Because he's stronger than Kaladin? Anyone with Pewter is stronger than Kaladin. The only way he pulls off that trick is if Tin enhanced senses don't notice the glowing read streamer, and Bronze doesn't sense the use of a Surge, and the Mistborn isn't burning Electrum. A sneak attack while the Mistborn isn't aware of an active threat? Sure, can easily see that. In a fight while the Mistborn's guard is up? Unlikely. -

@alder24I stand corrected, though it still seems like a pointless deception. And as the footnote indicates Radiants can still break them accidentally. That doesn't change the RoW scene showing a massive amount of Stormlight is still used. -

Bronze should be able to track him just fine, Pewter to match his strength, Chromium to drain his Voidlight. He caught Kaladin by surprise because visibility was bad Proof that it was intentional? As far as I'm aware that's nothing more than a fan theory that Jasnah was trying to deliberately obfuscate even though she had little reason to. Is there a WoB confirming this? -
Mistborn V.S. 3rd Ideal Lightweaver
StanLemon replied to Wits instant noodles's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Uh no. I'm putting my foot down on this. Any mistborn with all 16 metals would crush any Fused we've seen so far On a different note. Soulcasting. Everyone, especially those in favor of the Radiant, needs to remember that Soulcasting is far and away the most Investiture intensive Surgebinding we have seen. A full sized gemstone, not a broam, a gemstone cracked handling the Soulcasting of a boulder to smoke. In RoW when Jasnah Soulcasts the air into oil, that drains all the gems on her wrist. Radiants can't spam Soulcasting without a Perpendicularity so if they mess up even once that's likely it as far as Soulcasting goes for the fight -
As the listed compression factor we have in the book is universally never shown, I think it can be completely discounted. A compression factor of 8 wouldn't make people look like they are frozen as is commonly described.

Jasnah was the one teaching them how to Soulcast -
Whether the Investiture is in a person or a sphere it is still the same amount of investiture. And considering Bronze can detect minute differences for someone who's trained and that spheres are generally kept in pouches it isn't really as extreme as you assume it is Even for bullets to move sluggishly, it would still require a great deal more time compression than 8x or 11x. Even speeding up by a factor of a thousand wouldn't have a noticeable effect on light.

This is after Dalinar opened the Perpendicularity -
I'm not sure where the 11x comes from. The only reference in the book is a reference to a nugget of Bendalloy stretching 15 seconds into 2 minutes (8x normal speed) which is laughably less time dilation than what we see in the books

Compounding in most cases is an advantage. For the learning part of it, it would mean you aren't just limited to whatever youth you can scrape by meaning whatever time you do dedicate to building skills you wouldn’t be constrained by a time limit. Young brains are better at being able to forming connections, it's one of the reasons children learn so fast. Potentially you could make yourself young without ever having the risks that come with age. Potentially you could shave weeks if not months off of anything you are trying learn or skill you are trying to develop
