  1. Here is a possible advantage for a Godking. Assuming they are aware of the Fullborn's Metalminds, what if they Awaken those Metalminds to act against the Fullborn
  2. I doubt that plan would work. For starters, why wouldn't he be always tapping like Miles, he's got even better reason to. TLR likely has far far more speed stored up than anything any other Feruchemist has ever stored. Plus he's always burning metals, meaning his senses are enhanced, and if his Pewter scales up even close to his Brass or how strong Wax's Steelpushes were with the Bands he could probably out muscle a Feruchemist with his Allomantic Pewter alone. Wax has proven that Steelsight can react to fast moving metal objects. The moment that his hyper enhanced Tin senses or Steelsight notice a bunch of metal coming at him at high speed he could easily tap his mental and physical speed.
  3. The only way said weakness could be exploited was Vin being supercharged to power levels arguably even greater than TLR. It was a completely outside of context problem for him. That doesn't make him an idiot. Arrogant yes but not an idiot. Had literal divine intervention not happened no one would have even been able to exploit his weakness
  4. Uh, his raw power was what was keeping him alive. It literally took the machinations of not one but two gods for him to die
  5. Depends on how you define weakest. Put a Sand Master against a Forger and even the weakest Sand Master would win most fights, but a Forger could do more overall with their abilities. I feel that a Mastrel would beat Dakhor monks in a fight as well, at least from what we saw of them in Elantris. Though Dakhor like Forgery can do larger feats, at a high cost though. As to special abilities, it allows effective if limited flight, create constructs out of sand, and can be useful for a number of utility uses as well.
  6. Unfortunately we still don't know much about it. All we really know is that Tapping it can make people like you more, that it's possible to store "blank" Connection, that you can connect to the land you are in to speak the language of it, that if an Elantrian could Tap Connection then they would be able to use AonDor in another land, and that if you Compound enough Connection you can take over Kolos like powerful Zinc and Brass Allomancy can. Personally, I believe that it would also be possible for a Twinborn who had F-Duralumin to also Store then Tap their Connection to Preservation to boost the potency of their Allomantic metal. No real proof for that, but to me it seems that it should be logically possible as F-Duralumin has proven to be flexible to some degree and the strength of an Allomancer's power is directly tied to how strong their Connection to Preservation is.
  7. While this is specifically about Rashek vs Susebron, and the experience vs inexperience divide between them so it doesn't specifically refer to any Fullborn vs 10th Heightening but here is a WoB Basically, because Feruchemy and Allomancy are so much more combat oriented, the Fullborn would likely still be at the advantage in a fight. The problem, same as the Fullborn vs Herald debates is just how stupidly broken F-Steel is. But, with your Batman analogy, if the Awakener could find some way to get rid of his Steelminds the fight could be a lot more even.
  8. Except that the one they fought at the beginning of HoA was the first they examined to have a Spike that wasn't Steel or Brass meaning they couldn't have had F-Gold. Vin gets concerned when it uses an ability that couldn't have been Allomancy and at first Elend almost dismisses the possibility of it until he remembers Vin has a habit of being right. If they had fought other Inquisitors that had any kind of Feruchemy that could be outwardly noticeable (Pewter, Steel, Gold, and maybe Iron for example) then that interaction doesn't make sense. Vin had been told that to kill a Steel Inquisitor was to separate the linchpin from the eye spikes. In fact, in that very first fight she tries to first go after the linchpin and when that fails she uses a Koloss to surprise attack and decapitate it. All derived from the information she got from Marsh and from seeing Kelsier kill an Inquisitor.
  9. Books outrank WoB unless he is explicitly retconning. So none of the ones they fought between WoA and HoA had F-Gold He demonstrated no muscle mass growth, so not F-Pewter. While having been a Mistborn or Pewterarm or double A-Pewter are technically possible, it starts stretching suspension of disbelief to have every time that an Inquisitor being stronger is because they just happen to have the appropriate combination to overpower a Mistborn. I highly doubt the last option you said is likely in any scenario. Kelsier was already a pretty strong Mistborn (Vin thought he was stronger than her, while not quite accurate to the truth it shows he must have been pretty strong himself), so a Spike being taken from someone stronger and decay weaker than him is unlikely. That scenario becomes even more unlikely if you try including that with the Inquisitor that Lurched the candelabra out Vin's grip.
  10. Reference to the double A-Steel? Edit: Also one of those 5 is busy being the linchpin Spike, maybe it gives power, maybe it doesn't
  11. All Inquisitors have 4 Steel Spikes, each with a different Physical Allomantic ability. If they started out as a Seeker they would be weaker in Tin, Pewter, Iron, and Steel than any Mistborn unless they are getting some additional boost. We don't know that as a fact. In fact, in Hero of Ages here is the scene. The standard was in fact 9 Spikes and Elend is clearly both surprised at a 10th Spike and that it is Pewter and not the usual Brass and Steel.
  12. Bendal's muscles are never described as growing Key words there "by Hero of Ages" They had been fighting Inquisitor's for months before that. They explicitly say that this is the first one to have a Spike that isn't Steel or Brass. So none of the ones they faced before had ANY Feruchemy. Yet they still treat the fight as dangerous with two very powerful Mistborn against a single Inquisitor. Which again makes no sense if Inquisitors are weaker than Mistborn I doubt Ruin would have even cared to. Marsh, his most prized Inquisitor with the most Spikes, had the most Feruchemy never demonstrated large amounts of any trait. Which would be odd that Ruin wouldn't give him Gold Allomancy if he went through all the effort that he had gone through already. Marsh outright thinks to himself that he has to conserve Health in his Goldmind so he clearly couldn't compound Gold during Hero of Ages.
  13. Not quite true, only the very last one had Feruchemy and none presented compounding.
  14. That feels like reaching. Facts as present, Brandon calls them a construct meaning there is more to them than just gaining powers. Most Inquisitors were made from Seekers, admittedly it doesn't stop others from becoming Inquisitors but it does mean that the likelihood of any Inquisitors that the protagonists met were Seekers beforehand. Bendal completely overpowered Kelsier in raw muscle strength. Vin described the Inquisitor Ironpulling the candelabra as far stronger Ironpull than Kelsier. Kar's comments about Inquisitor resting implies more than just refilling Goldminds. Brandon comments that they can burn themselves out. They age slower if they aren't burning themselves out. Vin and Elend, two incredibly powerful Mistborn consider fighting Inquisitors dangerous two against one, which doesn't make any sense if Inquisitors are weaker than Mistborn unless every single one they fought before was a Mistborn. Sure, it's possible that Bendal was a Mistborn or Pewterarm and that the random one Vin came across was a Lurcher or Mistborn as well, but a simpler solution to explain Inquisitor power would be that some aspect of their construction boosts their Allomantic power. My guess is it's related to their need to rest and Brandon's comments of burning themselves out.
  15. I have a pet theory that there is more to Steel Inquisitors than just gaining a bunch of powers. For starters they typically have longer live spans And due to Hemalurgic decay, Inquisitors should be weaker than a Mistborn in most metals unless they themselves were Mistborn beforehand. The evidence from the books doesn't suggest this. Unless Bendal and the random Inquisitor that Ironpulled the candelabra in Vin's hands in the first book were both Mistborn prior to becoming Inquisitors, they were far more powerful than Hemalurgy should have made them. Additionally, in the beginning of Hero of Ages, despite Vin being the most skilled Mistborn ever and Elend having the power of Lerasium and them having killed multiple Inquisitors before by that point they both still consider fighting an Inquisitor to be a deadly and dangerous fight.
  16. A good question, personally I think yes...unless it's somehow not part of his Spiritweb and with Hoid that could be a thing. Still lots we don't know
  17. But he can't necessarily regain his lost powers Maybe Hoid's healing is capable of healing the soul perfectly, but if it isn't then he loses the power. Brandon has previously compared Radiant healing to leaving a scar on the soul when healing so that is clearly not enough to regain lost powers. His other healing power is perhaps the best one that we've seen short of nigh infinite supplies of Feruchemical Health and it might be able to heal perfectly, but if Hemalurgy is used to steal that then he would be in trouble
  18. This isn't necessarily true, we don't know how well he heals Spiritual damage. More recent WoB implies that even healing Spiritual damage doesn't necessarily return lost power unless it's a very supercharged healing, such as a Gold Compounder using a LOT of health. And then there is the possibility of using Hemalurgy to just steal Hoid's healing outright. I agree though that in a fight against Hoid and Kelsier, Hoid would almost certainly win.
  19. Welcome to the Shard! So Nicrosil and Duralumin don't actually increase the amount of power but instead compress all the power that is present into one instant. How strongly Lerasium makes you is solely dependent on the amount of Lerasium you are burning. So unless the Alomancer burning Lerasium knows how to use its true power, it probably wouldn't have an effect at all except turning the person into a Lerasium Mistborn
  20. Yeah, if I hadn't reread WoK recently I might have forgotten too. Shardplate is just so good it's easy to forget other armors exist.
  21. You pointed out the whole reason Adolin says Shardwielders can't hold ground. Alone it isn't overwhelming no, but in a conflict between any equal force except that one side has a Shardblade and the other doesn't will almost certainly end in favor of the side with the Shardblade. While tactics exist to try and swam and take out Shardwielders as early as possible, the wielder will almost always be highly protected. Roshar has full plate armor or at least close to it, someone wearing that would be very hard to kill before they could kill you with the Blade. Multiple times we've seen a single swipe kill multiple soldiers casually because armor or even the basic defenses of muscle are worthless against it. Killing becomes casually easy in with a Shardblade. You could cut through their fortifications like it's nothing as well. Overall, while it might be somewhat exaggerated in value, they would still be massive assets in a battle capable of reaping through enemies before they even got close to you. Keep in mind, that much of the description we get of the value of Shardblades comes from Vorin culture which are likely to mystify them even more like they do Soulcasters. For comparison the Makabak nations utilize them for their cutting utility. Also, if it's broad enough like Oathbringer for example it could be used as an impromptu shield because they are effectively indestructible
  22. I often disagree with how ruthless Jasnah can be, for example I'm hard against her original stated desire to commit speciecide in Oathbrinder, I do side with her in this situation. Even if not for the same reasons precisely she did it. She was aware of a problem that (as far as she was aware) her host would have wanted taken care of for the safety of his people but the authorities refused to do anything about. Women were being raped and murdered. She had the power to stop it and all she did before was put herself into a situation where they might try to threaten her. They chose to, so she 'solved' the problem. Did she handle it in the best way, most certainly not because despite her power she did put her ward in danger without making her aware of that. And it shows how Jasnah is in my opinion just a bit too quick to kill when she doesn't have to.
  23. Ignoring the whole fact that it rips holes in peoples' souls part of Hemalurgy, I think the only possible acceptable way that Hemalurgy could be used to make a Spike from people is if they were dying and chose to let their power/trait be passed on. Specifically with NO coercion or pressure, 100% their decision.
  24. Assuming you are free to world hop, and you are aware of Scadrial's magic system. Head there, find a Nicrosil Compounder.
  25. Considering that Brandon has said that burning Duralumin doesn't only makes Compounding faster. I'd agree with Quantus. I'd also add that it depends on what the Investiture is doing as Brandon has said the more a metal is doing the faster it burns. Iron and Steel are the best example of this, if all the Allomancer is doing is seeing the blue lines it doesn't burn too fast, but when Pushing or Pulling it burns faster, most Allomncers don't notice because they only Push/Pull in short bursts
