  1. Huh, haven't seen that one before. That's weird to me though. Breaths may not be part of a persons Spiritweb but they are still stuck to it like a Spren with a Bond isn't part of a Radiant's Spiritweb but we know that Hemalurgy can steal that Bond
  2. How Unsealed Metalminds are made. So many Cosmere relevant things could be learned from that. To a lesser extent, the limits of Nicrosil Feruchemy as Brandon has implied there is more to it than what we know
  3. Awakening so far seems the only magic system to be able to bring things to life Hemalurgy can alter the Spiritweb on a fundamental level it seems These are the ones that immediately come to mind
  4. You missed the point entirely. Allomancy is the only magic system known capable of manipulating time. An example of uniqueness between magic systems. The Stormfather doesn't count as a magic system as it is a side effect of the massive amount of Investiture. Like gravity to mass
  5. This is a great point. For example the only magic system so far we've seen so far that manipulates time is Allomancy. Unless you count what the Stormfather which I don't as Syl states that has more to do with all the Investiture in a Highstorm than a specific magic.
  6. Or alternatively whoever sent them wants one of their own agents in play. There is nothing stopping them from trading information. But to talk about the Ghostbloods, their mere existence as a Scadrian originated organization proves that it's possible for Scadrians to get a spy foothold on Roshar and while they don't make stupid decisions around the Radiants they clearly aren't afraid of them.
  7. It burns slow compared to how quickly Stormlight gets consumed. A bead was enough for to flare for over an hour. Edit: Ok double checked Mistborn, it was 5 beads being flared for an hour. That's still a far more efficient mass/Investiture ratio that Stormlight Likely correct, unless there is a way to hack it with intent. Though that's pure conjecture The only case of this potentially being true is Kaladin who isn't a good example as we've seen him have a bunch of weird things going on. No other Radiant who isn't an Edgedancer (for obvious reasons) hasn't shown boosted dexterity. Not saying you are wrong, though I'm pretty sure their reason to kidnap Heralds aren't so directly related to that Assuming that the Ghostbloods don't just explain the effects of Roshar's atmosphere and adapt.
  8. I remember I once hypothesized that the Crasher resonance was an inherent understanding of force vectors. No real evidence for it but it would make some slight sense with what the two interacting powers are and why Wax can seemingly do impossible shots.
  9. Any former Shardvessel can stay as long as they want, Kelsier pretty much says so when he begs Vin to say. Ati likely chose to pass Beyond. As for Rayse, I'm pretty sure he's gone
  10. Kelsier used Iron to use a soldier as a wrecking ball and it should be possible with good timing to Pull metal towards you and use its momentum to fling it back in the direction you Pulled it from or another direction all together
  11. I reiterate. "These darn kids and their funny way of talking!" ~Old Man Marsh...probably
  12. Eh, I'm not a fan of the retcon as it was an advantage of Sandmastery. Sandmaster is already fairly underwhelming as a magic system as it is. And it's not like there aren't other examples of infinite gains from other magic systems, namely Bondsmiths and Compounders. And it isn't even as broken as those examples within its own magic system as those are within their respective magic systems
  13. It's not outright stated but a number of references, particularly one of Navani's sketches imply it. There is a reference to Stormlight patterns along with Spren type determining effects of the Fabrial. Next to it there is a sketch that shows the cage being responsible for the pattern. The cage shape seems to create 'shadows' in the Stormlight pattern on the left. And if you look at the different cages on all the gems on the emotion detecting Fabrial have different cage shapes
  14. I was thinking about Fabrials and how fascinating. Of all the magic systems that Brandon has made for the Cosmere it is the only one we've seen that incorporates key elements of other worlds' magic systems. They use Spren (Roshar), the color (Nalthis) of the gem, metal (Scadrial), and shape (Sel) of the cage. It seems like Brandon is going to use Fabrials to show us the underlying rules that govern other magic systems. I wonder what other things we'll learn about them
  15. This I think enforces the point I was making. They need to know about lasers first. Which as I've said, Roshar while getting close are still a number of steps away. Earliest I can imagine this is the latter half of Stormlight. On a completely separate not, there is a third continent on Sel we know nothing about...wonder what's going on there....
  16. Lightweavers would still need to know what a laser is. If you were someone who has no concept of what a laser is much less it that it can be used to actually damage something, you aren't likely to use it. It would be like a mistborn who has no idea how to use pushes and pulls doing the complex stuff Kelsier does or Wax's Steel bubble. Sure if you know it can be done it gets a lot easier but as I'm coming back to, Roshar doesn't know enough to just do it. Maybe they will discover it accidentally but it's not something to rely on.
  17. The reason I say they were probably more powerful when Honor was alive is because Brandon has said that they used to draw power directly from the Shard
  18. I wouldn't say it is impossible, magic has a way of bypassing som things. But I do think that they would need to have a decent working understanding of how light works to have the proper intent to do it
  19. We knew about light refraction for millenia here on Earth before we figured out wavelengths
  20. Not saying it's not possible, they just don't understand the physics of light enough. While they are close considering the discoveries with Rhythms of War, they don't really even know wavelengths of visible light, let alone high energy wavelengths
  21. Actually no, there is more to lasers than that. Especially if they are intended to rapidly burn or cut things
  22. Those aren't even close to the same. Elantrians already likely have all the tools and knowledge to do it, Roshar doesn't. To make Aon Shardplate, they would just have to figure out the right Aon combination, Roshar still has a number of scientific advances to go
  23. Considering the Ire exists, I think it's pretty safe to say they have a good understanding of Investiture as well Or a ward that disrupts all Lightweaving in an area. This would probably be a lot harder than you make it seem. Keep in mind, Elantrians can manipulate Connection too. That's debatable. Fjord has a pretty strong history of warfare as well. True Spinal severing is still just a cut, it likely doesn't require any mor Stormlight than a gash on the leg. A Radiant burned alive would probably use up Stormlight a lot faster I think you overestimate their ingenuity. Their two begg Only the Sibling has done it on large scales and they can't exactly move them. And it took 7000 years of conflict with Surgebinding for the Fused to create a way to suppress it. Not exactly a vote of confidence.
  24. And when have we seen Lightweavers use lasers? Aon Shardplate is very likely viable. And could likely be if not mass produced, produced in decently large quantities.
