  1. Notably, I only used 3 actions on Ashbringer. I used 2 protects on Alvron because of the 50/50 on that action as well, to pretty much guarantee his survival. Only one of those actions worked, and it made it through the 50/50. And no, I never said it was due to the 50/50. I was explicitly informed it was due to my actions failing. I then assumed that whatever kill succeeded failed due to the 50/50, according to the clarifications I got from the GM last night when figuring out exactly what I was doing.
  2. It wasn't your vote, it was JNVs vote on you I'm not convinced by. I still feel like you could be an elim, but well you're third on my suspicion list so not right now. Would you like to elaborate on why I top your list?
  3. It's almost like I'm not an elim. I've had this night 2 planned since I got my role, which sucks that the 50/50 hosed it or I would have put all 5 actions into a guaranteed kill (basically). On the upside, I trust you for trying to kill me, even if I don't agree that you should have tried. There are definitely better options. I've been a bit hedgy with my plays this game, but now that my role is essentially irrelevant for another 3 turns there no reason to do that anymore. My hit list goes like this: Ashbringer (too dang quiet) Xino (for being suspicious) And then Elandera, because I'm not convinced she's cleared by a vote that could have been a misdirection. I will also note, I was not the one in the synod document to actually bring up the idea of killing archer. I was going to let the suspicion fester for a while tbh. But once someone else said "let's kill him" I was like, sure why not, it'll provide info, and cross off my main suspicion at the moment. So of the synod doc, that would leave me most suspicious of "The Unmasked One", whoever they are. And, that's about it.
  4. Well, that didn't work at all. I said if Archer flipped village, I'd claim, so here I am. I am indeed the veritable head band of the honorable Synod. I also am a Sentry. I started off with 2 charges, and thought it would be flipping awesome if I managed to pull off a win for the village with my 5 actions last night. Unfortunately, while I was successful in protecting Alvron (you're welcome) all my kill actions on Ashbringer (I was hedging my bets on Archer, figured if Archer flipped village either Xinoehp or Ashbringer would be the next best target) totally whiffed. Not sure if someone else managed to get one in, but given there were only 2 deaths, I'm going to assume whatever kill action was successful didn't manage to make it through the 50/50. Sadness. Anyway, since that didn't work, the next best bet is the exe. So, Ashbringer.
  5. Wow If my prediction on 3 elims was correct, that means we've got only one left. My bets are still on Archer
  6. I don't trust Archer, so I don't trust his suspicion. JNV, I genuinely cannot make heads or tails of some parts of your post. Is English not your first language? Not upset or anything, I just... Can't figure out what you're trying to say. I have a grand total of No Pms. Whee.
  7. why not? I feel like my reasoning is pretty straightforward. I find it hard to believe you could actually trust me for reading rules. That implies there's another reason theyre saying something like that. Elims would already know I'm innocent, so it's easy for them to "trust" me. Look at stick! Reading me as village when I'd hardly done anything at all. I'm getting the same vibes from Archer. This is such a weird argument. Normally I am vehemently like "I AM VILLAGE DANGIT" where as now I'm like "STOP READING ME AS VILLAGE DANGIT." But I guess I feel like this discussion about something NAI takes away from discussion from more important things, and more importantly to me, my actual attempts to be helpful. This is also why I'm not suspicious of people trusting me for reasons other than this stupid post.
  8. Archer Let me explain why. As I said last cycle, I'm suspicious of people reading me village for my questioning the thread in regards to where the rules were. Here's my reasoning: I'm looking for a quick answer to where the rules are, obviously. As a villager, I can ask thread or the GM. As an elim, I could also ask the doc. But I'm asking this question at two in the morning. Where am I most likely to find a quick answer? Thread, because it has the most people on it, and is more likely to have someone awake and looking at it. This is true whatever alignment I am. Therefore that action, is logically NAI. People sussing me for doing that is just weird, so I've ignored it. But trusting me for it? It's either a villager not looking at my attempts at ACTUAL contribution, or it's an elim trying to get on my good side. From a meta perspective, I also dislike the idea of trusting people for reading the rules. It should be something everyone does, no matter what alignment. However I look at it, Archers stance is problematic. Thus my vote.
  9. Nice shot! Whoever pulled that off, good job. I would not recommend claiming publicly though. Seems too easy to false claim, cause confusion, and get yourself killed. This puts us up a fair deal, leaving us with much more time until LYLO. It also gives us information as well! I plan to go back and observe Sticks posts
  10. Oops I had a birthday party right after work and didn't vote. I strongly dislike not providing crucial information like votes, so I apologize. Nevertheless, I find the vote count interesting. One vote on everyone involved. One could say that that might imply none of them are evil, as a team mate could very easily vote on anyone else to prevent that... pesky RNG. Or it could be Alvron, being Alvron. Or it could be me, not getting on. So at the end of the day, I'm not sure how much information can actually be netted from this exe, which is unfortunate. That aside, I did notice that the elim kill is an action. But I also hate action accountability, it just rubs me the wrong way whatever the game is. (It's why my games almost always do not have the elim kill as an action). And... powers will mess up all that anyway. Now while I did read the rules, I don't necessarily remember all the mechanics off the top of my head, so I'll be interested to see exactly what happens tonight. The mechanics of feruchemy are hard to predict, so I'll hope that enough information will be available tomorrow to make a more informed exe. edit: and my entire thought process goes out the window, because there was vote manipulation. Thanks JNV for being less lazy than I. So... yeah I'm back still to having no idea how to read the votes, even in light of vote manipulation. I'm inclined to be more suspicious of Ashbringer, simply because 2 votes were removed. Without going back and checking the rules, I'm assuming there's no one ability that can remove 2 votes (at least not turn 1), so that implies 2 people wanted Ashbringer alive, with the ability to vote manip.
  11. squints not sure it's big enough I'm less interested in the discussion whether I'm village or not for reading the rules *sigh*, and more in the actual discussion itself. It almost sets off my pocketing alarm bells. For my own sanity, some thought. We have 13 players, so most likely 3 elims. that means about... 4, probably 3 cycles until LYLO? With the weird kill action accounted for. I saw some discussion about a Alvron exe earlier, and I'd like to object to that on principal. He's always a dangerous player, but that's what makes him fun! It's like playing with fire, sooner or later you're gonna get burned but it's worth it for the playing. I'll reread thread and drop a vote when I get back from work. Hopefully the turn doesn't end by then...
  12. Why... Is anyone reading into anything I've done? I didn't read the rules before, cuz I'm lazy. Long evidence should prove that this has always, and always will be the case. I couldn't find the rules because the link was a single tiny word in a MASSIVE freaking post. No wonder I wasn't able to find it until my third scouring of the post. I should be completely NAI and I have no idea why anyone's trying to read me either way. Feels weird.
  13. Fun Fact: I have no idea how the rules work, and it's 2 AM! So I'm not going to do that right now. I'm actually not sure how active I'll be, I do work for most of the day, but hypothetically I have time both before and after work. So, hopefully I'll be responsible.
  14. A bad one? Oh no. We can't have that. I'll be Steel. He's a beggar on the street with way too many secrets that landed him there.
  15. Well, I've finished my first draft of rules for my "Choose your own alignment" hallendren Manywar game. I really need someone to look it over, though as I said on the discord, if you see what the secret factions win conditions are, it's going to somewhat ruin the game. So if there's anyone who's definitely uninterested in playing but would be willing to look the rules over, that'd be great. Just shoot me a message on discord, I'll see it sooner that way.
  16. I told araris, I'll need at least a week to get home from Europe before I can think about running a game, plus I need to polish my Hallendren rules. That being said, I could probably find enough time to polish them this week.
  17. I have finished my semester! This means I'm available to run a game anytime now. I'm going to polish up my Manywar rules most likely, so if an LG is needed anytime soon, I'll be available until the end of the summer.
  18. This takes place Day 4, but StrikerEZ hasn't posted it yet, so I figured I'd repost it here to make the RP I just wrote easier to understand. When Leets finally came to his wits again, he began to mull upon the things the bug-thing had said. Yes, it had been creepy, but it had said something about the gift his father had left behind. That the spikes weren't the gift? Putting aside the question as to why a creepy bug thing would know about what his dad had left behind, he pulled out the box, which contained the twin spikes. Trembling, he pulled the spikes out. They were in clear vials, with blood. Behind them in the box, now that he was paying attention, he saw something he hadn't noticed before. The back had a small notch in it. He yanked on the notch, and it came free. A false back. In the small space behind, were 2 medallions. One with steel. The other with copper. He briefly touched the one with steel, and felt a MASSIVE reserve of feruchemical steel inside. He staggered. "Wow." That was evidently the result of quite a bit of compounding. The other was one was copper, which could only mean one thing. Hesitantly, Leets touched the copper, and tapped it. Memory overwhelmed him. He remembered a journey across the cosmere. He remembered dying twice, and being returned by a gracious Endowment acting for the good of the cosmere. And he remembered a villain. A man of speed, from another universe. One who had, in an effort to not lose the speed that he valued, stolen the power of compounding of others. That was what the spikes were. They had never been his father's in the first place. The next thing he remembered was colored with pain, with loss. He saw a body. The body of the man, slain by his... by his father's hand. He remembered the body of his sister. Of his father's sister? That would have been... his aunt?! The villain had murdered his aunt. No wonder his father had been so loathe to speak of her. He saw his father, having lost everything, fleeing to the Drominad system to live a backwater life. Where Leets had been raised. A more specific memory then entered into his mind. He saw his father. Or more specifically, it was the memory of his father looking into a mirror. His father smiled. "I'm sorry Leets. I knew you would finally open this when you were ready to accept what I left behind. I know how little you think of yourself, of how much you think of me." His father sighed, his shoulders slumping. "But as you can see from my memories, I failed. I failed terribly. My own sister... murdered by that beast of a man. I was never the hero you thought me to be. I almost awakened the lightning, like he asked of me." A grim smile formed on his face, and he continued. "So, please don't be like me. I might have saved people, but I failed to save what I cared about most. But... well I had you and your siblings. That brought some measure of joy back into my life. I'm sorry that I'm going to give away my breath, but my time has come. It came multiple times, and I was selfish to stick around for so long. Now that you're all grown, it's time for me to go." His father reached out a hand. "I love you Leets. I gave you the option to become Steeldancer, if you so desire. At least to be able to compound, as much as that means in this modern age. But I also gave you those spikes. Those spikes that represent my utter failure. So... don't view me as a hero. But, I will always be your dad." The memory ended. Leets found himself with tears on his face. He slumped, realizing how flawed his views of his father had been. He had been a failure too. He laid down on his bed, absorbing the thoughts, trying to parse how he felt about this massive revelation. So it was, he was deep in thought when the door opened. Leets sat up, and was about to say something to the sudden visitor when the knife took him in the throat. Panic struck, and he tried to scream, but the knife prevented him. No, no no no no no NO. NOT NOW. Not JUST when he was figuring this out, when he was on the verge of realizing what he wanted to actually be. He gurgled blood, realizing that he was going to end up just like his dad. Dead before his time. Except like his dad, he was of no importance to the cosmere, and no shard was going to come and save him. No. NO. He would not be like his dad. He would fight. Leets lunged at his shrouded attacker, snarling. He ripped off the hood, attempting to strangle the assailant. "YOU" Leets managed to choke out. Then he was slammed headfirst against the wall, and all went dark. ~~ Max opened the door, having heard that Leets had finally awoken. To his horror, he found Leets, a knife in his throat, on the floor. Blood leaked slowly from the wound. "LEETS!" Max hollered, skidding to his knees to feel his heartbeat. There was still a pulse, though he could feel it weakening. In a panic, Max reached to his pocket. A precious item, but well he had no choice. First, he ripped out the knife. Then he placed the gold bracer around Leets's arm, hoping against hope the little unkeyed health he had in this would be enough to save his best friend. To his relief, he watched the wound close. But it left a scar. The healing was not much. He picked up his friend, and ran with every ounce of speed he had to the ship doctor. ~~ "I'm sorry, but he won't be waking up anytime soon. We don't have any feruchemical gold to spare. He took a head wound that, most likely, will leave him in a coma." The doctor looked consolingly at Max. "At the very least, I'm pretty sure he'll stay alive. The operation worked, so it should be ok. But I have no idea when he'll wake up." Max put his head in his hands, letting a few tears out. The shock of it all was just barely catching up with him. He took a deep breath. "Doctor, if there's any change whatsoever, I need you to tell me." The doctor nodded. "When we get to Roshar, we might be able to get some more advanced medical attention there. But who knows when we'll get there, with all that's happening..." Some Time Later, after the Mutiny He slowly awoke, opening his eyes to see a plain white ceiling. He tried to raise his hands to wipe the sleep from his eyes, but found he couldn't. There was a tube entering his arm, and medical equipment nearby. Leets took a deep breath, trying to clear the fog from his brain, figuring out what was going on. He looked around, and saw Max in a chair nearby, dead asleep. Leets was surprised, but glad to see him there. As he stirred in his bed, Max also awoke. His exhausted face broke into a grin. "You're alive!" Leets sniffed. "Was there ever any doubt of that?" Max frowned at him. "You realize I found you barely alive with a knife in your throat. That was, 3 and a half months ago?" Leets felt at his throat, and only felt a small scar. "You must have used your feruchemy for me, didn't you." Max nodded, and Leet sighed, and sunk back into the bed. "So, what happened? Last thing I remember was getting jumped." Max nodded, and began to explain what had happened. The story was a long one, but essentially, the traitors from Roshar had ended up taking over the ship, killing pretty much everyone on the ship, and then flown it back to Roshar. As a result of the incident, the whole cosmere was on knife-edge as Scadrial seemed poised to strike back, and the people on Roshar were furious that a kill squad had been sent to Roshar. But that was outside, and at least here in Urithiru, things were relatively peaceful. "So then, why the heck did they not kill me?" Max grinned. "They needed a lead engineer in order to get back to Roshar. You getting here safely to get medical attention was my demand, in order for me to help them. They agreed to the request." Leets nodded. Then he pointed near Max's head. "So, what the heck is that in the air." Max frowned. "What are you talking about?" Leets squinted. "How do you not see the funny looking... cracks in the air?" A voice then came from said 'funny looking cracks in the air'. "Welcome to Roshar, Leets, heir to the aspect of Speed." Leets and Max both started. "Leets, to be short with you, the spren of Roshar have come to the conclusion that you should be brought into the Knights Radiant, in order to preserve the aspect of Speed that you inherited from your father. The resonance between Abrasion and feruchemical speed is essential in making this occur, along with a spiritual aspect your father alone had, so you are the only candidate for inheriting this power. The power of not just a magic system, but rather utilizing investiture to draw close to a spiritual ideal." Leets shook his head. "I didn't understand a single word you just said." Max laughed from his chair. "That's what you get for trying to explain spiritual mechanics to this guy." The spren- it had to be a spren, though Leets had only ever seen his father's spren before- sighed. "Normally, we don't bond brand new off worlders, but we're making an exception for this. And us ashspren wanted to beat the cultivationspren to the punch this time. This is no time for a healer, but a warrior." Leets held up his non-tubed hand. "So let me get this straight, you're inviting me to the Dustbringers? Because, speed spiritual mumbo jumbo?" "It's more important than that," explained the spren, "but I can teach you the details later. For now, do you accept this generous offer?" Leets thought for a moment. It almost felt cheap to just... be offered a spren bond out of nowhere. He hadn't done anything heroic, or gone through anything even that particularly tragic, like the famous Radiants of old. He was just the son of his father, the Steeldancer. But he also would not be like his father, at the end of the day. He would be a Dustbringer. Or Releaser. Same difference. Leets cast his mind back to words his father had taught him while he was young. "Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination." A shiver ran through Leets, and the ashspren moved about in its particular way. "Welcome to the Knights Radiant." ~~~ And thus I shall set aside my character for another day, because I have plans for this guy Leets.
  19. We're scrapping the made in abyss game for now, I've kind of belched out some rules for a Choose your own alignment game. It's a faction game based on the Manywar in Nalthis. I haven't figured out the action economy yet, but it'll be based on breath. Known Factions are as such Royalist Hawks: want royals to survive, and join their side for war. Royalist Doves: want royals to survive, and join a bid for peace. (I'll flesh out the exact win condition for these two groups later) Revolutionaries: desire to overthrow the royals. Win if royals die along with foreign spies Foreign spies: a special role. Can still join any alignment, but win condition is predicated on killing the royals. Royals: a special role that will be distributed to various people. Will more or less determine how the game goes, depending on what happens to them and what they choose. Cowardly elite: a possible role, still debating this one. They'd have the ability to change alignments once after N0, when all alignments are chosen. The 5 scholars: might or might not be in the game. Secret factions are named as such, and win conditions are hidden The Cult of Colors The Adjuncts of the Scholars The Followers of Edgli How the selection would work is that roles will be distributed N0, upon which all players will have a turn to discuss things and submit their desired alignments. There will be limits imposed on how many people can join a single faction, to prevent game breaking. As such, you can submit up to your top 3 factions, to allow for maximum player choice. Anyone who doesn't submit anything will be shoved into a random alignment. I have various other thoughts, but I figured this is good for now. It's a cool concept, that shouldn't be too broken. Granted, I'll probably spend the next few days trying to mentally break it.
  20. Ahem ahem @Devotary of Spontaneity As the only other member of this esteemed club, I would like to welcome you to the "people who pulled off an SK win" club. It brings me great joy to see serial killers win. They're the best, and always have the odds stacked against them. I applaud your achievement. May your murderous tendencies bear fruit again in the future.
