Some might wonder, how did John end up in this position? If he was a male channeler, then why hide in the tower instead of fleeing so very very far away? Well it was simple. Just over a year ago, he had been living in Tar Valon, working a bakery left behind by his deceased parents with his only living family, his twin sister Jane. It had been a normal day by pretty much every standard. He had been making some bread. When something happened. Something clicked within the universe, and power flowed through him. The fabric of the universe obeyed his will, and the dough he had been kneading burst into flames. Panicking, he had called for his sister, who realized what had happened almost immediately. Living in the seat of power of the Aes Sedai also meant she realized what the consequences for this would be. And since they lived so near the tower, there was no way someone didn't notice the flow of the One Power. Their only hope was that nobody noticed that it was the wrong side. So Jane made a split second decision. After all, John was her only living family, her twin. There was no way she'd let him be still and executed just for having the unfortunate luck to be a male channeler. So she dragged John to her room, and began to dress him. "Listen to me, John. From now on, you are me. The Aes Sedai will come and get you. You don't have enough time to run away. So instead, pretend to be an initiate. Hide your true nature. And never, under any circumstances, ever channel again. Your first time was brief, so they may not have noticed it was that of a male. But if they see it again, they will know, and they will still and kill you. So, pretend to be me and hide. At least until you get sent out on assignment or something, anything that gets you out of the direct thumb of the tower. Then, run, far far away. Somewhere you can be safe." John was still in a fair bit of shock, but managed to stammer out, "But what about you?" Jane smiled wanly. "If you manage to escape, leave a note for me indicating where you're planning on going. I'll try and join you. Twins ought to stick together, after all." They shared a brief hug as Jane finished disguising John. "Now, go. If you go find them first, they'll be less likely to look into you and me. Stay safe, brother." John hasn't left the tower since that day. But someday soon, he did plan to leave the tower and run away somewhere safer than under the nose of the Aes Sedai. Well, that had been the plan right up until the White Ajah had put him in charge. Seriously, how was he supposed to ever get away now???

If I would have seen this before the game started,I don’t think I would have ever played. I’m doing this all in my head y’all I can confirm most people do not do this, that's a lot of work for a game that's supposed to be fun lmao. Also, vote for Steel! Not to become Amyrlin or anything I just don't want to be stilled lmao

I will note, just because Jo is trustworthy doesn't necessarily mean we should make them Amyrlin. I'd say its better to keep them as a sitter, somewhat safe from death. Also, is a WGG possible with these rules, or are Sitters just immune to the kill entirely

...good god my head already hurts Edit: I am putting you as village because surely, no elim would have the levels of insanity to go to that lengths in terms of analysis. you're utterly insane

Okay, why don't you trust me? I feel like breaking the tie in favor of killing Polly over two other options should be enough to at least get me above TUF and Bridgeboi who are, imo, easily the most suspicious of the Sitters. Also in regards to Sart, I am of the opinion that he is almost certainly village. I do not think an elim would go out of their way to point out a way to avoid their best chances of winning. Also, @xxGaeasorry about that I'll fix that in a moment. Also I will vote Terrisman in keeping with my conclusions on the votes on Polly, I think they're mostly in the clear in my book.

Alrighty I just finished doing a reread of day one, and given the way the voting went I'm pretty certain everyone on the Kelsier vote other than maybe Ashbringer is village. Basically, in terms of final votes (which are the only ones I care about for this purpose) it went from initial vote (Wizard), to follow up vote(Terrisman), to first tie break (Gaea, they didn't read my post breaking that initial tie until after they had already voted so her vote was to them, a tie break) and then me (breaking the three way tie). Ashbringer is the only one who hypothetically could have just been train hopping to farm trust. I am also far, far more suspicious of everyone on the Kasimir train, as that seemed to be the primary actual countertrain (other than Drake, who's hard to analyze since... he didn't say anything).

I do feel its relevant to ask @TwinStorm, since you claimed to be in the same Ajah as Polly. What Ajah are you in, and was there anything of relevance in the document you'd be able to share?

Indeed, Polly was not in the White Ajah. As I mentioned before, I sort of trust both members of my doc (one I am fairly certain is village, the other is either village or pocketing me, so I'm keeping an eye on that). Edit: Yes Jo, I was doing what was called a bit of misdirection in that first post lmao

I refuse to be party to a 3 way tie. Like I said, I don't necessarily want Kasimir dead yet, I feel keeping him alive will provide more information for now than killing him. So, Kelsier Apologist as a tie breaker Drake Marshall

Ooh I did that my very first game, an old classic Have I mentioned I don't like ties? I really don't like ties. For all my elim ness in the last quick fix, me not liking ties was not a lie. Better to have a leading candidate. I'm voting Drake Marshall. I'll admit I don't have a super strong case or anything, but of the four candidates he is the one I trust/want more information from the least.

Hm, interesting. I will note the rules are designed to essentially force us into eventually choosing an Amyrlin, but I'll freely admit I didn't consider the option of just trying to avoid the mechanic entirely to avoid an elim win. And thanks for explaining what happened, lol. Consider my suspicion of you retracted for now. ALSO HAVE I MENTIONED I DON'T LIKE TIES Never mind the tie is gone ignore me Hm, yes, the old "Steeldancer is overreacting" thing. Let me let you in on a secret: I'm always dramatic. This is not alignment indicative, it's mostly activity indicative. I get excited about stuff and I get dramatic when I get excited, so take it more as I'm actually invested in this game, which I would think is a good thing. I've been exed many times in the past for making a slightly bigger deal of things than perhaps they needed to be, I think its part of my charm and standard playstyle. Also, I wasn't trying to bring heat on Kas. I was trying to pressure him to see how he responded. My interpretation of his response? Not necessarily suspicious enough for me to vote on (for now, anyway). Same with Sart. This game is all about pushing people to see how they respond. I just tend to be the dramatic type lol. Anyway, back to Sarts proposal. I will admit part of me sort of dislikes trying to ignore game mechanics deliberately? Though that's coming from GM!Steel, I usually put mechanics in games because I want them to be used. Though I will also agree that the village Amyrlin is fundamentally weak. Seeing all the documents is nice and all, as is having a double vote, but given the massive risk of losing, and then they just leave the game regardless is weak. Seems like its not enough oomph to warrant the risk of losing. By ignoring the mechanic entirely, we basically turn the game back into a normal game of SE, just with 6 known thugs. If my earlier theory is correct, and the elim team is smaller to compensate for their multiple win conditions, this could make a village win much, much easier. As for me, the only reason I'd want to be Amyrlin is because it would be even funnier than John running the whole White Ajah. Beyond the RP incentive, and keeping an elim out of it, it doesn't seem very attractive to me personally.

Also, regarding my D1 thoughts- yeah no duh they were a bit wishy washy, I wasn't sure about the proposal. I mean, it does have its merits. Heck, at this point it might actually be a good idea to have doc mates claim their non-sitter team mate. But I also have a gut instinct to not hand out any information that I don't have to, especially in thread where the elims will learn whatever is shared. This comes from a long history of being a bit too free with information, and getting utterly wrecked because of it. shudders in the bird PM. Plus I misinterpreted the rules, and misread the post. So I feel my responses were completely in character. As for you, Kas? Currently my gut tells me something that's a bit off. Granted, I am going to give my gut basically no attention, because frankly I don't trust my gut abilities anymore LMAO. I'll wait for something a bit more concrete before I actually start voting on you. Also, side note. Sart, you never actually explained how you got elected, just came out of nowhere after being asked about it with a post that basically was the opposite of my own (proposing a focus on non-sitters, whereas I proposed a focus on sitters) and nothing else. Why would focusing on the non-sitters benefit us the most? As I've already pointed out, our best chance of losing is distinctly tied to the election of the Amyrlin. We basically have to get it right- we need to elect a village Amyrlin and not depose her- else we lose on the spot, regardless of elim team size or anything else. Meaning for the moment, the most important thing is to try our best to figure out which of the Sitters can be trusted. And based on that, I'd say currently Sart cannot be trusted.

Where was this energy last night? Nothing quite gets my brain juices flowing like MTG deckbuilding until 5am, at which point I was very much into the deep think. Also, my main thought-energy was going towards my document. I'm not going to out my doc - mates quite yet, but they can confirm that I have been *quite* active in my thinking there. As for why in response to the not-vote, its because I had already been thinking about that but hadn't posted it in thread yet. So when you voted on me, it was the perfect opportunity for me to get to the heart of my own thoughts about your comments. Like I said, I'm not claiming it to necessarily be elim behavior, I just wanted to get a better idea of your thoughts. I still feel like 6 as an absolute limit is too high. As for balance, its simple. Two of their win conditions don't care about thugs. In fact, I'd say they're better off only caring about non-sitters, probably. Their best bet of winning is to rig the Amyrlin votes against us- either to get one of theirs elected, or depose one of ours. That can happen by like, turn 4? And doesn't care about firepower at ALL. All it takes is a skilled hand to manipulate the votes, that's it. So they don't need a large team to win, and if their team is as large as 5 or 6 it would make our own win condition nearly impossible, given the voting system. We only have so many village sitters. That's why I say they wouldn't be overwhelmed on 4, maybe 5 if TJ's feeling really spicy.

Okay, I see your not vote, and I raise you a question Kasimir. Why in the ever living heck would you speculate there were up to 6 elims at the beginning of the game???? Under what circumstances would that even be remotely balanced given the rule set, and you are more than experienced enough to know that having a third of the players in this game be elims would be inherently unbalanced. I can't say for sure whether its elim behavior to overinflate team numbers, or perhaps you just didn't understand the rules well or their implications. Still, I'd like to hear better reasoning as to why you're suspicious of me and why you speculated such a high number for the ceiling of the elim team. I'm currently running on the theory that there are 3, maybe 4 elims. Edit: nah strike that, 3 is too low. I'm guessing 4. Feels right given 6 not-thugs, and 6 functioning sub-factions. I'm also guessing, though this is a bit more speculative, that they're in 3 documents and have a majority in exactly one. Another edit: I think Jo's turn analysis makes it pretty clear that 6 would be too large. I don't think it would be possible to win if there were 6. The only win condition the village has is to kill all the elims, while the elims have such lovely options as: 1. Outnumber us 2. Get one of their own to Amyrlin 3. Oust a village Amyrlin This gives the elims a lot more oomph than they would have in a normal game, even if they had individual powers. 6 would also be enough to infiltrate every document, or have a majority in multiple, which seems way too strong. 5 is definitely an upper limit, and even that seems high given the flexibility the elims have in terms of win condition. No, it's gotta be 4. And I'm betting at least one sitter is a black ajah.

Ok I'm bad at reading, apparently it ended up being a 50/50 when I wasn't on. Which is interesting, and also means John truly was just horrifically unlucky LMAO. Right now, based on their actions I'm putting both my teammates on "kinda trust for now". Imo if there is a black ajah in my doc at this point it's not my real priority, the real priority is vetting the existing sitters. So yeah, how did sart get elected without posting at all Edit: spelling.

"Me????" John asked in complete confusion. The Aes Sedai of the white Ajah nodded. "Yes, you. We want you to be the sitter of the white Ajah." "...but why????" Another woman spoke up. "You're so composed and on top of things, we think you'll make the perfect leader in this time of confusion." "BUT IM THE ONE WHO'S CONFUSED", thought John. How did things come to this? How did he, who just a year ago was just a normal baker working with his twin sister, end up pretending to be a woman so well that they put him in charge?????? Edit, OOC: only one of my mates voted for me, the other didn't vote at all. And now I can have way too much fun running my poor character through the ringer as he desperately tries to lead in such a way as to not give away the fact that he's a dude

For the record: in my document I am currently campaigning for sitter because I think it would be extremely funny if John Steel somehow ended up as Sitter. The idea of a male channeler crossdressing his way into leadership of an entire Ajah completely by accident... Way too funny.

John Steel sighed as he closed the door to his room, having successfully survived another day with very few people talking to him. But there was just one problem. His Ajah he was technically a part of was electing a new seat that night. And he was one of the candidates. Surely another one of them would be elected over him, right? Surely he wouldn't have such terrible awful luck as to be thrust into the spotlight like that? John collapsed onto his bed, not even bothering to get out of his dress that allowed him to pretend to fit in, a complete bundle of anxiety and worry for the day tomorrow.

Oh, I misread that too. I... huh. I'd have to think about that more. I feel it has similar issues with what I already brought up, if you claim Ajah mates, the elims can kill one of them to very easily learn a chunk of the remaining distribution. Then again this is all assuming that they don't have a massive team. I hope they don't, for my own sanity. Especially with the equivalent of 6 thugs that would really make the game kind of slow.
-
Oh they're immune to exe too? Missed that. Huh. This game is gonna be weird.
