  1. Q: Is the programming-esque nature of the Dor a product of the power being in the Cognitive Realm or is it for some other reason? A: A mixture of the Vessels' personalities, the fact that the power's in the Cognitive Realm, and the nature of Sel's focus. The focus is of sel, not the vessels
  2. What do you think about hemalurgy? Non-catalytic magic system? User is the spiker, focus is the metal (coupled with intent, which is true of any magic system), fuel is what? The placing of the spike in a bindpoint or the spiritweb of the middleman?
  3. @Lord Maelstrom, yes. Uncle Andy is adonalsium.
  4. @Wolly-The-Wuller 3. Do Alethi (and Veden) have epicanthic folds? yes.
  5. @Oversleep, I have been doing a reread of SA with particular focus on the dysian amians. I am not quite halfway through WoR. In WoK: As a slave, after a highstorm Kaladin sees a legger with a deep purple carapace of a kind he had never seen before. During chasm duty he sees a few reddish and translucent cremlings. Snails behind Dalinar at the dueling arena.
  6. I was 90% sure that the occasional horneater ability to see spren came from their listener blood, but I can't find anything to back that up.
  7. It is awesome, and should probably be in general Brandon discussion.
  8. As an aside, @Oversleepand @Calderis, your ranks are gerontarch and most ancient... isn't a gerontarch by definition most ancient?
  9. It bothers me a little, @Oversleep that the title of this thread misspelled ultimate as "ultimade".
  10. Mraize has a hemalurgic spike in his trophy room. Shallan describes it as a hairpin in a jar of blood.
  11. The symbolheads Salman sees are highspren, also called cryptics. They are the rulers of spren in shadesmar, and it would make sense they monitor the leader of the most powerful country in the physical realm. Gaz is probably not seeing the same things.
  12. Can objects become habituated to Commands?
  13. Hope of elantris. It reads like cheese.
  14. @Lord Maelstrom, number 6: http://faq.brandonsanderson.com/node/217
  15. @Toaster Retribution, honor blades from Roshar are basically a godmetal
  16. Odium appearing to people is a big jump from the influencing he has been doing, so I also would need to see the WoB believe it.
  17. 1 I don't know 2 yes 3 yes 4 not historically, but maybe 5 don't know, but probably voidbinding 6 drab, no 7 don't know 8 they will gain sentience on their own or seek a vessel @Storming Radiant
  18. The entire planet's landscape is already invested. Dakhor bones resemble their landscape, and stamps resemble mai pon.
  19. Doesn't silence specifically say a woman's monthly flow doesn't set off the shades?
  20. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinetic_bombardment What properties does tungsten steal?
  21. @hwiles, maybe shades have "night vision" so smaller changes, like running, are more likely to not be noticed
  22. I doubt cusicesh is in the same league as nightwatcher and stormfather as they are spren of cultivation and honor. The stormfather predates honor's death, but after honor died, his cognitive shadow merged with the stormfather.
  23. ED is edge dancer, in this context.
