  1. FWIW, my interpretation of ^^ was "why would Endowment return denth and others when they would be unlikely/unwilling to give up their divine breaths?"
  2. Roshar had listeners before humans arrived, implying humans travelled there (the origin of the tranquiline halls myth?)
  3. @Spoolofwhool, can I get the WoB that you can awaken using stormlight?
  4. @dgenio8, this is all the Adonalsium information we have: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Adonalsium
  5. WoB says they can assume human form. Not sure if each dragon has just 1 human form, or if they have actual shapeshifting abilities. Or if "human form" just means two arms, legs, and and a face. And that is all the info. the coppermind has on dragons.
  6. You say non-elantrians can draw aons, but the aons have no magical effect. In elantris (ch. 4) it is stated that non-elantrians cannot draw aons. Shaod plantains can trace the patterns in the air, but without chasm lines, the aons have no magical effect.
  7. You get three hearts back. *inserts master sword*
  8. There I was, tied to an altar built of outdated encyclopedias, about to be sacrificed to the dark powers by a cult of evil librarians. And then the murders began.
  9. Here is the first round of match-ups! @thegatorgirl00, this, instead of being just about who would win in a fight, also has matchup involving artistry, friendship, cosmere knowledge, and which character would make a better mate. One of the round one matchups: who would you rather marry: Clubs, or Elhokar?
  10. Pictures of the bracket coming soon, but I assigned the matchups randomly, and also assigned each face-off one of six challenges: combat, artistry/creativity, cosmere/realmatic awareness, better romantic partner, better platonic friend, and lastly no category-just general awesomeness.
  11. All the information on Hoid: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Hoid
  12. Presumably there is a Shallash Honorblade out there that confers illumination and transformation. Does this blade/bond also grant a supernaturally good memory?
  13. It does not matter that Roshar has no connection to Preservation. The only thing that matters to an allomancer is that the allomancer himself is connected to the power of Preservation. (This is what lerasium does, rewrites SDNA to connect someone to Preservation, making them an allomancer) This connection exists regardless of the position of the allomancer because the spiritual realm is accessible everywhere. Harmony is bound to Scadrial because his power invested and created the world, therefore tying himself to it. He has a hard time learning about the rest of the cosmere because there are forces from outside actively trying to stop Harmony from gaining knowledge. To be an allomancer, you do not need a connection to scadrial, you don't need metal from Scadrial, and since it's genetic, you don't need to be born on Scadrial (also Hoid, who ate lerasium).
  14. Preservation exists mostly in the spiritual realm which is location independent. It does not matter where you are if you are an allomancer, you will always be able to connect to Preservation. The only magics that are location dependent are elantrian magics (also chay-shan etc.) because they access the Dor, which is in the cognitive realm, and being a Knight Radiant, where the spren you are bonded to is very tied down by location, because they are from the cognitive realm.
  15. To clarify, you mean wrapping in an aluminum sheath?
  16. I feel like the best way to describe this theoretical fourth shard with ruin, preservation, and cultivation is the shard of deck shuffling. No net big picture changes, just random alteration for changes own sake.
  17. I was fairly certain someone in-world said atium was the "lost metal" at the party in SoS
  18. In Elantris, probably the ars arcanum, doesn't somebody say an elantrian can't accidentally create and release an aon's power? That would argue that aons are a mostly cognitive focus, and not just physical markings.
  19. Due to the correlation between surges and fabrials, my money is on tension producing similar effects to split ruby/amethyst (spanreeds and Navani's towers) because physics-wise tension is the redirection of force (yank down on a rope, and a curtain swings sideways). IMHO.
  20. We have this WOB: http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1182 question number 40 that the cremling that appears in WoR epilogue is actually part of a Dysian Amian. In WoK, while Kaladin was a slave, (page 85 paperback) "he'd never seen a legger with such a deep purple carapace". By this point, he definitely is bonding with Sylphrena, so could this be the beginning of Amian monitoring, and are there any other possible Dysian sightings out there?
  21. Devotion is not necessarily Odium's opposite: WoB http://www.theoryland.com/intvsresults.php?kw=Odium%2C+opposite Autonomy is Trell is just a theory, good cases can be made for dominion or ambition
  22. Investiture is conserved in the spiritual realm, because allomancers don't actually use the metal to push or pull. They use the metal as a hyperlink directly to the power of preservation (mostly in the spiritual realm, where location is meaningless) and preservation moves the object.
