Sidenote, Brandon confirmed on reddit last night that Stormlight will not make someone younger.

Yeah, I think Kaladin's next oath will for sure be about having to lead. Its been kind of foreshadowed by all of the "Darkeyes would treat Lighteyes poorly if they switched positions" discussion.

Blightsong replied to Lightning's topic in Events and Signings
The wording of the paraphrased WoB says that in the myth he tells he refrences world hopping, not that he refrences a story aboit worldhopping. Someone will have to go through and read the Fleet chapter to see what he's talking about. -
Yea, He was almost definitely talking about the Cognitive realm. That is the only reasonable inference in this context. I think this ability comes from how Hemallurgy may affect the method of communication Kelsier used to talk to insane people. We don't really have much on how this works, unfortunately.

Theorizing about realmatic theory and being Cosnere aware are two different things. -
We already knew that we have seen Hemallurgy on other planets, but apparently it isn't obvious at all. We also knew that Hemallurgy could steal non-Scadrial magics, so I don't know if there was anything new in your specific example.

I think you misinterpreted some information in your third point. Brandon has only spoken of Shards polarizing once before, and he was talking about Preservation and Ruin. He has said that the two Shards made Scadrial together because they were attracted to each other, but the powers obviously don't mix well. Khriss also then talks about how the powers have been trapped and forced together and are trying to escape eachother, which sounds nothing like what you propose.

[AU Spoilers] Bavadin, Autonomy, and new info
Blightsong replied to FirstSelector's topic in Cosmere Discussion
She is called a she in the Taldain essay. Brandon seemed to changed his mine on their gender. -
Preface With all the new info and confirmations from AU i just had to write up a piece on my thoughts and theories surrounding the new information. I will go through each essay and post my extended thoughts and reactions to each new information we have gotten on Realmatics. These will probably take me a few day to get out, so I'm going to post them in the comments as i finish them. The Selish System The first bit of Realmatically oriented information we get is that Devotion and Dominion's power is trapped within the Cognitive realm. We actually got confirmation of this last year (#7) of this, but Khriss extrapolates by telling us that that the use of the Dor is restricted by location due to the investiture used in the powers coming from the Cognitive realm (has distinct locations) instead of the Spiritual realm (doesn't). This answers a pretty old mystery, and is surprisingly simple. She also goes on to say that perception and intent also have a greatly magnified influence of the magic for the same reason. She then references language (or communication as a whole) as something important to the Cognitive Realm. This makes sense, and gives us some clues about why words are important in some other magic systems (Awakening, Surgebinding Oaths, ect). Something interesting within these first few paragraphs that I missed my first time through this essay is that Khriss refers to Devotion and Dominion as "polarized". The only other shards we have seen seen referred to in this manner is Ruin and Preservation, shards that are much more obviously opposites. Here Brandon speaks on this effect a bit, and indicates that it is a process that takes a significant amount of time. I wonder if this phenomenon has had a role in why Dominion's investiture, and more specifically the Skaze, seem so malicious. The most interesting piece of information, in my opinion, is that Khriss thinks the landscape has become invested to the point that it is starting to become conscious. I actually predicted this half a year ago and got some WoB on it, but only ever shared it in a pretty small thread. Check it out here. This leads me to believe that there are some sort of powerful Mega-Spren that have formed (Jaddeth?) and are going to be extremely important to the next few books set on Sel. I'm still not sure how the Skaze and Seons fit into all of this, but Khriss cryptically says that "there is a link between them and the puzzle of Sel's nature". Endnote Next up is Scadrial. I will have that posted either later tonight or early tomorrow. Let me know what you guys think.

We can be reasonably sure of the second one, i'm pretty sure. Adonalsium had heavily invested multiple worlds, and large amounts of investiture are (as far as we know) the only requirement for a perpendicularity to exist. For example,

Full Edgedancer Reaction Thread [Edgedancer Spoilers]
Blightsong replied to Chaos's topic in Stormlight Archive
During the first book, when Kaladin has a vision of being a highstorm that rolls through a highstorm he sees a city that is cut into the ground. When he asked Sigzil about it later i think he said that they worshipped Jezrien. Maybe Tashi is the name they call him there. -
New character in Edgedancer [Edgedancer Spoilers]
Blightsong replied to WeeDunadan's topic in Stormlight Archive
Something that just popped into my head after thinking about how the Sleepless would know so much about the characters judgong by the back covers. I wonder how many of the cremlings we've seen have actually been Sleepless. It would be a real twist if every cremling secretly was secretly part of a larger sentient being. -
New character in Edgedancer [Edgedancer Spoilers]
Blightsong replied to WeeDunadan's topic in Stormlight Archive
It is interesting to me that the Aimain here says that the Siah are "better" at seeming human. I wonder if the Aimians all function by having hordlings, but the Siah's species of hordling has enabled then to seem more human-like. -

I understand you are upset but you are being unreasonable. You are basically saying "If the author really understood that people like this character than he would change the structure of the story he actually wants to tell to pander to us" and "I disagree with the only person who has actually read the book that Adolin has sufficient page time despite it not even being out yet". There is no way for you to know if you will like or dislike Adolin's arc. You may think you do based on the outline, but a hastily done, not even proportional assessment of the story's structure cant actually fully convey what the content of the book will be. Brandon said he thinks Adolin's fans will be happy with the book and has given the character screen time equivalent to that (so far) of character who will actually be main view points within the first five books. I don't know what more you could reasonably expect him to do for you.
-
There can still be scenes that flesh out a side character very well without that character having a view point in every part of the book. I understand you are disheartened, I am too, but we really have no idea how how much Adolin will be paid attention to as the story goes on. I think you read the outline as Adolin getting no meaningful screen time, but is simply impossible to know that for certain. Like Brandon said on reddit, give the book a chance before being sad about Adolin's development.

If they are all going mad, I doubt it's a natural process. I would think it's either from their old age (least likely), the hundreds of years of torture and following ptsd, or some kind of consequence of abandoning the Oathpact (which might have messed with their spirit webs, which can very easily cause madness).

How do we know about the Heralds?
Blightsong replied to The Technovore's topic in Stormlight Archive
Welcome! Adding to what page runner said, the vast majority of this kind of Easter egg stuff has been either found or cemented as canon via the questions Brandon answers at events, so you will be pretty confused browsing the forums until browsing the wiki a bit. -
The name of the char that is stylized there is called the Double Eye of the Almighty, by the way.

I think ive seen the same WoB comparing inquisitors and Hoid, and they only confirm that there is a similarity, not that they are completely comparable. I know im knit picking, and that that is not what you meant, but people who havent seen thise WoB could easily develop a misconception based on your wording. -
The over mastery dehydrates the body, leaving the eyes to shrivel up and turn to dust. The same thing happens to the sand masters skin and other parts of the body, so I don't think it has to do with anything spiritual.

How Splintering Works (Half-Baked Theory)
Blightsong replied to cometaryorbit's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Brandon said in the WoB you submitted that there was one notable exeption (AonDor), but you then contradict him saying that all splintered shards work this way. I think the biggest mistake you are making is assuming that AonDor was in the spiritual realm before the splintering. Everything we know about the magic system points towards it having been in the cognitive for the magic to have worked pre-odium.
