  1. We know that Vasher had been to Roshar prior to the creation of Nightblood.
  2. I just want to point out that we are pretty sure you dont have to be a surgebinder to use stormlight, you jist need a way to take in other kinetic investitures, which other magic systems can do.
  3. But we know via WoB that Adonalsium is the one who created everything, and that he is composed of investiture, so he doesn't just exist in the physical realm. Also, shards aren't only in the Cogntive/Spirtual realm. Stormlight and Atium are both examples of Shardic investiture within the physical realm.
  4. Your still thinking along the lines of "Types of Investiture". There is no type of investiture, only investiture and which realm that investiture is directly affecting. If you are saying "What if Adonalsium was investiture that was invested into one physical object" then it makes more sense realmatically, but we know that they is an upper limit on how much investiture a physical object can be invested in, and we also know that even if an object has a physical presence it still exists within each of the other realms, like any other shard. Also, if he was invested into a physical object than how did he invest in multiple shardworlds? How did he create multiple different forms of life? He would have had to have been able to actually use his investiture in the physical realm for him to have accomplished things that we absolutely know he did, so I don't think the theory is correct.
  5. Before my theory, a little lesson about the universe relevant to the theory! Before the Big Bang the universe was packed into an extremely tiny, low entropy space that was very uniform and had very little complexity. After the Big Bang both entropy and complexity increased, creating galaxies, stars, planets, and life and shutting them in every direction. We are at a point of medium entropy and high complexity now, but as entropy increases even more complexity will begin to lower drastically again until there are no stars, planets, or life. We recently learned that the reason investiture eventually becomes sentient is because Adonalsium had a goal/purpose/intent of bringing life to the Cosmere, but I think the answer is much more complex than that. I think that Adonalsium's intent are the laws of physics and that his vision was for investiture and the Cosmere to slowly enter a high entropy, low complexity stage where investiture would cease to form sentience/life. My theory is that the Sixteen who shattered Adonalsium learned this and decided that the best course of action was to shatter Adonalsium, who they believed would let the universe die, and then use his power to maintain a high complexity moderate entropy universe. I also think that it is possible that this was part of Adonalsium's plan, and that he counted on his power being shattered as the natural order of things and as the natural progression of his power spreading out and existing in a higher entropy state.
  6. Oh how I wish I could spend the weekend relaxing in Italy with other nerds like myself, asking Brandon questions on Realmatic Theory.
  7. The Sixteen did break Adonalsium into something, but they aren't physical, they transcend the realms. The only thing we know that does that is investiture, so that is what Adonalsium was composed of. Regardless, we have confirmation that Adonalsium was investiture. Let's look at the etymology of Adonalsium regardless of confirmation -ium (New Latin): A suffix used to denote a substantive noun to a nominal noun. Plutonium basicly can mean "stuff of Pluto" in new Latin. A noun with the suffix ium isnt neccesarily a metal or physical substance/element, but is only used that way because the only real substances are physical things (which while true for our world, isn't the case in the Cosmere). So when you look at a god substance, which only forms as a metal on Scadrial (which is that shardplanets physical focus), it makes sense that it would be called Atium or Lerasium. It is the physical form of the shards they hold, so people who would find it would name it something that translates to a noun with the suffix -ium. A tear of Edgli (the flowers theorized to be the physical form of Endowment) could rightly be called Edglium. Adonai (Hebrew): God So when you combine these two roots you get "substance of God" or the translation that fits the theory best but is less accurate, "godly substance". This perfectly describes what Investiture is, a substance that transcends many of the laws of the Cosmere.
  8. Nice questions man. Your really active in the community so it's cool to see you finally meet Brandon. He's going to be at the festival awhile isn't he? Are you planning on asking him any more questions?
  9. Nightblood is smaller than an average shardblade and made of a different material, so i doubt it.
  10. Brandon has said that by era 2 Allomancy has pretty much gotten as weak as it's gonna get.
  11. Where in the Ars arcanum tables does it say that stoneward Spren should look like stone?
  12. I think you've earned your name. Seriously though, I have asked questions regarding investiture's sentience and got RAFOed. This question has reinvigorated so many theories of mine.
  13. Its been a few days, how was it?
  14. I think the signing has started, have fun everyone attending!
  15. If you dont mind, could you ask the following questions. "Was Adonalsium able to things that shards cant do, or can Shard's do everything he could but on a smaller level." "Are there things shards can do that Adonalsium couldnt?" Edit: maybe add "in regaurds to their powers" or something similar to allow less wiggle room.
  16. The question is specific in that it is asking for book 2 teasers, but you do have a point about the wording. I think that it could be talking about either book, but it still feels off to me that it would be book one. It just seems like it's talking about something way more serious than that discovery. Your guy's example really just seems more like an advancement in Realmatics than "something that will have long lasting ramifications". Long lasting also implies that it is reversible or could become obsolete, which I don't think is the case with the discovery from the scholars.
  17. The question is specifically about hints to book 2 and he talks about book 2 features the entire paragraph, it doesn't make sense for him to suddenly mention an interlude in book one without saying it was from book one. The WoB said the discovery has heavy ramifications, not that it's a big deal. The word "Ramification" is a synonym for consequence and is almost always used when talking about a negative effect. This seems to describe the discovery of Stormform much more than the discovery of the two scholars.
  18. Yea, i think he is talking about WoR here. Wverything else in the paragraph is ablut WoR, it would be weird if he suddenly switched to talking about WoK. This is probably about Stormform.
  19. I wish I'd been there, but this is an especially busy time of the year for me so I count make it. I made the thread in the hopes that people who went would post any new information they had gotten.
  20. Anyone get anything signed in their books today?
  21. Wow, your an OG. Welcome. How has it been, slowly seeing the background to the Cosmere slowly emerge? I started reading Brandon around WoK release, so I joined when we knew a lot of what we know now.
  22. Anyone in or around Atlanta, Brandon will be heading to a con near you this weekend. The information is up on his website now. I highly recommend attending if you are a fan of Brandon and fantasy as a whole. I won't be able to attend, but I was able to go to a con Brandon was at earlier this year and it was a great experience. I highly recommend the "Hour with Brandon Sanderson" event for anyone looking to get some questions answered.
  23. Brandon has said that he doesnt know about the other planets, so i doubt Mr T knows that much more.
