  1. We still don't know if Stormlight is Adonalsium's investiture, just that the Stormlight originally in the storms was. That could have changed.
  2. I don't really remember anyone asking questions about Ym until recently, although he has been a topic since the book came out. Brandon often keeps us guessing if he thinks his answer would kill interesting community discussion.
  3. I think this is where the metaphor fails. One cannot maintain a proffesional skill level at two sports very reasonably, but there is no reason to believe that it is so rare for someone to harbor ideals of two orders reasonably.
  4. You're making several assumptions here. First, entire shards are not needed to form a perpendicularity in the first place. Brandon has said that anywhere with sufficient investiture (like first of the sun) can still have perpendicularities. Seeing as how there were already Spren on Roshar (which are sentient pieces of investiture) it isn't an unreasonable guess that there may have been enough to form a stable perpendicularity. Second, that all of Adonalsium's investiture is contained in the shards. We don't know if this is the case or not so it really doesn't stand against my theory. Third, that the shattering (which is what Odium has done to shards, just on a large scale) divested Adonalsium from Roshar. When Aons and Skai were shattered the investiture still formed a perpendicularity on the planet they were invested in, so I don't see why this would be any different.
  5. A nexus is a series of comnections linking two or more things, so it makes sense for them to be perpendicularities. My theory is that the nexus Imagination is one of Adonalsium's perpendicularities.
  6. I didnt get that vibe, but Dalinar certainly was far different from how he is now.
  7. A stick going through an infinity symbol to represent stick's determination to not change for pesky humans.
  8. Scadrial's expanse is named after an environmental effect... Either way, based on what we know we can reasonably assume that the names are based off of the properties of the Cognitive realms in these expanses, which themselves are an expansion of how people view the corresponding planet, not the properties of that planets magic system.
  9. This is kind of an open and shut case guys. Brandon has never lied to a questioner as far as we know and there isnt any reason for him to. It isnt that much if a stretch to think that both types of spren were looking at the same person. Its like if two football recruiters were looking for a new player, and two different teams found a player that could fit well in the team. Either way, peter confirmed that this was the case at one of the recent signings, they havent been very secretive about this Edit: Also, we have confirmation that you could bond two spren at once INTERVIEW: Jan 7th, 2015 Central Library, Seattle, WA(Paraphrased) QUESTION Could someone bond with two sprenand wield two swords? BRANDON SANDERSON It is theoretically possible, but the sprenaren’t going to like it. So you won’t see it very often.
  10. Agreed. It also just makes sense based on the others. Broken sky fits with Taldain far better than any other, vibrance fits with Nalthis, and vapors fits with Scadrial. Even if densities is a bit of a stretch based on what we know, it can just be deduced.
  11. Sel is confirmed to be one of the expanses.
  12. On top of what everyone else said, someone on theoryland has already been adding the new ones that have been posted, you can check then out there.
  13. The One as a religion is shared by an entire culture, so I doubt it.
  14. Minor Spoiler's for the Dalinar flashback chapters in the Unfettered ii collection:
  15. There is a deleted scene that is from Jasnah's point of view right after she got stabbed and transitioned herself into the cognitive realm. Ivory had mother-of-pearl white skin and wore a sharp black suit. I'm guessing he is named after his 'skin' tone.
  16. I didn't realize the joke until half way through AoL. It's made even better when you learn that Scadrial doesn't even have a moon.
  17. I think it has to do with how the magic system and its use affects the Shardworld itself, it will be very interesting to learn how this type of stuff functions.
  18. It was confirmed recently that the 17th Shard adheres to non-intervention, so I doubt the Ghostbloods are associated. Exact WoB BRANDON SANDERSON The 17th Shard is about nonintervention, but they're not doing so great a job, seeing as they took the common cold to Roshar.
  19. The investiture isnt in the Sand itself, but is in the sunlight (which comes from the sky) which then invests tiny microbes that live on the sand. But really, Taldain is the only planet where the sky has any strange anomaly and where it is an important part of how its inhabitants view the planet. It really is the most intuitive choice here.
  20. Regardless of the chances that this theory is true (which it might be), it's really well put together and is the most interesting idea I've seen on here in a bit, nice work.
  21. I'm in the same boat as Khyrindor, it would be greatly appreciated if someone could get an answer for me
  22. No one has mentioned that the expanse of Densities is Sel? This has been my theory for awhile. Its Cognitive realm is evidently filled with Investiture so the name makes sense in my mind, especially with AU's talk of the investiture their being packed and bursting to escape.
  23. My theory is that what she does to her little crew she accumulated is the Lightweaver's resonance.
  24. Empires on Sel: 4. Brandon has said that we have seen Hemallurgy in other books, but that it is very unobvious and hasn't really been hinted at. 7. The times we have seen a shards power left without a Vessel before it didn't destroy the planet, so I would assume Scadrial wouldn't have been destroyed.
