@Herowannabe  The lynch shows Randuir dying, but the RP is of a mob lynching Aman. Is that intentional?

Dang it all, I was looking at the wrong RP character. It was Randuir who died, of course. Give me a few minutes and I'll edit the writeup. (Edit: Luckily it was just his name that I got wrong, not his RP role as Royal Archivist)

Also, thanks to @Fifth Scholar for composing the bulk of the writeup. If you like it, give your upvotes to him.

EDIT: First post has been edited. Everything should be right now.

EDIT2:

PSA: @The Honey Badger has had to withdraw from the game. We are currently working on getting a pinch hitter to take his place.

Also, a note on Pinch Hitters and activity levels in general- just because we are using Pinch Hitters, please don't use this as an excuse to drop out of the game. We only have a couple pinch hitters in the wings and I'm not even sure if either of them is available to step in yet. If you find it difficult to keep up with everything (and there is a lot going on so far in this game. Trust me, I know. 9 pages in the first day, not to mention dozens and dozens of PMs and two docs to keep tabs on? Domi have mercy on me!), then I encourage you to simply do what you can. If you don't have time to post paragraphs of RP in every post or big long analyses of every player in the game or etc etc, that's fine, just post what you can. Even a simple post once every cycle to cast a vote for whoever your gut tells you to vote for is better than dropping out of the game completely. Remember, we all signed up to play this game because it sounded fun, so have fun with it! ;)

Mint awoke from his somewhat distressed sleep, still worried about whether he would already have to deal with an insurrection based on some of his petitioners comments. He didn't expect much to have happened however, so decided to take it slow for a while and maybe give the others some time to take Mint in.

Still, was worth asking a nearby servant if there was any news.

"You there! How was the death of Daoate? Must've been a gruesome thing, those guards should surely know how to fight back."

"Daoate still lives. Are you perhaps asking about the death of Saoir? They say he didn't really do anything, just took the sudden attack from some others in the same meeting."

"Saoir? Why would they do that? And do they know no manners? Gah, imagine how hard it'll be for them to get a new Archivist! Serves them right, should've at least waited until the meeting was finished. Oh, you can go back to whatever you were doing just now."

Mint then rolled away, intent on asking some questions to those who'd apparently decided to randomly kill a secretary during his sleep.

Unfortunately, he got lost.

Sorry Rand -_-

EDIT: Oh yeah. One of the Seon Holders asked me to inform the thread that they're looking for PM requests. Just post in thread that you're interested in chatting, and they'll get to you. First come first serve.

Daoate awoke. Wait, he awoke? But if this was the afterlife, it looked remarkably like the physical world. The water in his washbowl felt suspiciously like physical water, and not the spiritual type. Not that Daoate knew what spiritual water was like, but he imagined it would be different.

Now dressed, he left the room where he had been saying his last prayers to Domi, having fully expected to be dead by now, and it slowly dawned on him that he was in fact still alive. This was emphasized by the smell of bacon coming from the palace kitchens.

When he made his way into the main hall, he paused to check the minutes of the first day since the murder, to see what had actually happened. Names of people who had voted against him piled up, until someone stepped up to defend him, then the votes started trickling slowly away. Then the minutes stopped. No recording of who was actually lynched. Looking up, and counting through the people in the room, he worked out why. It was the Royal Archivist who had been killed, and as it turned out, he had been the one taking the minutes.

It turned out he had been innocent, but then he had been one of the ones trying to seal Daoate's fate, so while there was regret, it was minimal.

@Amanuensis - Still not entirely convinced you aren't an eliminator, but speaking out in my defense is appreciated. Thank you. If you are innocent, then I apologise for putting you in greater danger.

Oh...kay? I went into work when there were like 3 votes on Bort, and when I come back there's been a bandwagon and a counter-bandwagon and Rand has bit the dust C1 yet again, and yet again he's village. Ouch.

Think how I feel. Last night I went to bed believing that everyone was trying to kill me. Today I come back, only to find that another died in my place.

I must admit, I am a little disappointed at how I posted a time that I would be heading to bed, and most of the votes that were placed on me took place after that time. That just made the whole thing look even dodgier to me. Did people deliberately wait until I was off for the end of the cycle before voting for me? Or, at least, when I was supposed to be off. The only reason I wasn't was because I lost a load of the post I was working on so stayed up a little later to try to rescue it. In the time it took me to write that post, I believe I went from 2 to 6 or 7 votes. That's 4-5 people voting for me, within twenty minutes of the time I had announced as leaving for the night.

Randuir, as much as I didn't want to die, I am sorry that you did.

Out of those that did try to bandwagon me, I am most suspicious of Eternum ("I have suspicions about someone, but talking about them doesn't fit the narrative I am building against Bort, so I'm not going to"), followed by Araris (Eternum's 'second suspicion' conveniently joining in and adding that crucial fourth vote to push me into the kill zone). Also, he only retracted his vote on me once it became clear that I was not going to be lynched. Good eliminator tactic there. Slip in to jump start a bandwagon with a minimal post that said next to nothing, then when the bandwagon fails, removing their name from the list so they don't appear in the vote tally for the next cycle.

Edit: @Kidpen - When you finally voted for me last night, it was because of a reply I had sent Pyro, saying it felt to you that it was me trying to say "I'm a villager, retract your votes." While, yes, there was a bit of that in there, it was more bitterness for the apparent bandwagon on me, right after the time I said I was going to bed, for pretty pointless reasons. I was trying to ensure that everyone had the chance to enjoy the game, so to punish me, a bunch of people tried to take away my enjoyment of the game.

All I had on Araris at the time was a gut read, and you were relatively more active, thus I decided to focus on you. I had very little time when I posted, so I had to either do analysis on one of you or neither. You're not really off my radar yet though, because that convo between you and Aman could have easily been pre-planned. That entire thing Aman did, with roleclaiming and whatnot, could have been simply a cover. This could be me overthinking things, but it's not a possibility that should be dismissed out of hand.

However, you make a good point about Araris. I'll read what happened while I was asleep more carefully, and post any thoughts. Sure, this is a night cycle, but that's no reason to stop discussing. I'm particularly curious about how quickly the lynch moved off of me and toward Rand. It insinuates me as an elim and gets rid of a villager all in one fell swoop.

You definitely have my suspicions, for starting up the bandwagon on me. No, you weren't the first to vote for me, but my reasoning had already been explained by the time you posted your vote, and apparently completely ignored the posts I had already made explaining why I was voting the way I did. Your post was the one that opened the floodgates, and within minutes of you placing your vote, I had collected about half a dozen.

Yes, you are overthinking it. I had suspicions about Amanuensis, but was giving him the chance to prove himself. When you came long and led a bunch of people into voting for me, I felt it best to put those suspicions out there, since I was going to die anyways, and would rather not see (potentially Eliminator) Aman using the same ploy on another Seon holder, so I warned them.

Not that I expect you to believe this.

On another note, tonight I opened communication with Elantris... Does anyone have anything they wish to say/ask?

Please ask one of them to say “I am Groot” if they turn into a hoed.

I looked at the mess the mob had made of the archivist. Poor scholar, even if he really had looked slightly shifty. Granted, most scholars look shifty.

I was beginning to see connections and relations between individuals. For the moment, I decided to take notes, and keep them to myself.

Tucking away my notebook, I headed to the seedier side of town, where She resided. I straightened my hat on my head. She was quite judgmental about things like that. Best not to aggravate her any more than required.

They need 5 words when they become Hoed, so it would have to be "I, Am, We, Are, Groot," covering his entire script during the movie :)

Edit:

Trying not to double post again, so having to copy/paste this.

From @Devotary of Spontaneity:

The extra vote for Honey Badger is either because Mraize is a Monarch or because a player with the passphrase who didn't vote secretly voted on him.

Why are you so sure that the Monarch is Mraize? I'm not arguing with you, he may well be for all I know, but I'd like to hear your logic. Doesn't the Prince get control of the Monarch's double vote? Yes. Yes, it does...

From the Monarch section in the rules doc:

If targeted by the Prince/Princess, they control your double-vote.

To me, this means the Monarch could be either Dalinar or Mraize, or neither of them and someone has used the passphrase to cast a secret vote.

Not only that but the votes on Bort have an extra. So it could be any of those guys too

Exactly, which is why I'd like to hear @Devotary of Spontaneity's logic as to why it must be Mraize.

Edit: You know, for a character whose name literally means "strong and silent," I am sure doing a lot of talking here

If it makes you feel any better, I thought you were elim for a totally different reason at the end.

Reasons for lynch on you in my opinion much better than Aman's feeling that you not elim and Rand elim and that:

Quote
  • Formative Zone: Too Early to Tell, A.K.A. Could Go Either Way. Not enough pressure at this stage in the game for eliminators to take risk. If an elim is present within this group, it will likely not be obvious. Significant analysis required.
    • Elenion
    • Eternum
    • Araris Valerian
  • Sweet Spot: These are the votes where decisions tend to be made and the masses tend to be swayed. Without villagers actively testing the water with counter-wagons, this is the safest place for an eliminator to vote in order to continuously encourage a pile-up.
    • Randuir
    • Arinian
    • Devotary of Spontaneity
  • The Clinchers: Like the players in the Formative Zone, these votes net minimal information. More often than not people in this group will be villagers, due to a lack of info and the inability to coordinate with allies. Elims favor caution and will more likely shy away from risking their necks like this for nothing.
    • Kidpen
    • Straw

Maybe I'm wrong but I never saw strategy like this working. Some people tried to use it but they always was wrong

I practically know for a fact Bort's not an elim, Arin. Whereas with Rand I had no idea and saw a couple signs that warranted investigation. Main reason I chose to pursue him over you is that there was more posts from him to work with. If you want to prove to me (or anyone) that you're village, I would suggest trying to solve what happened rather than calling the lynch dumb :P at least one of those things is productive.

I still don't understand what makes you believe so much that Bort not elim?

Because he wouldn't have tried throwing me under the bus in the end if he was. That would practically guarantee my innocence, and would be a completely pointless train of thought since he already knew my role and how pertinent it is I get killed ASAP.

If I was on place of Bort and I was elim I would have done that, people not always giving much thought to what they do (especially I ). Also you know if you elim or not  I don't know that and all this bandwagon on Rand that based mostly on your reasoning don't adds much of trust. I will leave that for now but you not convinced me at all.

I listened to him, and took down a note-

‘Grammar is lacking, probably because his guilt is restricting his ability to use grammar properly.’
