Of course you agree with that, Elenion was defending you. Which makes me wonder, why?

And as for stacking a second vote onto me for what I think are rather flimsy reasons, thanks, but no thanks. Joe. Kidpen.

Edit: Sorry, was trying to reply to Kidpen, not Mraize.

Edit 2:

Updated vote list:

Kidpen (2): Pyro, Bort

Araris (1): Joe

Fair enough.

Ok, day one suspicions...

Kidpen, for his very early eliminator claim. Dangerous move, playing it risky regardless of his alignment. If he is village, then he is making a bad joke. If he is eliminator, he is hoping it will be assumed to be a bad joke. Also, he claims to "always claim to be an eliminator," but having never before played alongside Kidpen, I do not know how true this is. Can anyone who has played with him before chip in on this?

Young Pyromancer, for his very early cycle SHOUTING... Don't shout that early on please. Some folks are still in bed :P

A Joe In The Bush, for his DensiTea pun (oh, and his discussion of 'the doc'.. Only a mind as twisted as a Jeskeri could come up with a pun that terrible. (Side note, well played Joe, brilliant pun).

Drake Marshall, for his and Joe's references to their 'doc'. Granted, I suspect they are just trolling us all, but that could just as easily be the point. We dismiss them as trolls, where they are counting on that, and so manage to sneak under the radar as we concentrate on other people.

Steel, for his comment about the Jeskeri making no point. Joe should be on the list for this too, but he is already here for something else, so that's really two marks against Joe's name now.

Out of these five, it wouldn't surprise me to discover that one of them really is a Cultist. Probably just one of them though. I might be back to change this by the end of the day, but for now, Joe.

I agree with you Bort, but can I trust you? :P

I know you were replying to Kidpen, not me.

Edit: Is my vote list accurate?

I hope it's accurate, I copy/pasted it and added my vote onto it...

Perhaps I should be asking, can I trust you..?

Also, yes, you can most certainly trust me.

Before I started to drink yes... the drunk me... never trust. :P Overall yes you can Bort. Convince me why I should help you lynch Kidpen.

Update: Kidpen and Elenion may be in league as well as Wilson and Stink. Kidpen and Bort have a 'feud' and will probably end up with one of them dead, TBH.

Honestly, I expect to be dead pretty quick. It's my first game and I doubt I will do all that well. That being said, I can at least have some fun making chaos ;)

I feel like I am in the same boat. Which is disappointing.

Quick question: If you die but your faction wins in the end, do you still technically win?

Posted

I feel like aligning with Bort might be the best course of action, I do not want to involve myself in the Bort, Kidpen feud. So I vote for Elenion

Updated vote list:

Kidpen (2): Pyro, Bort

Araris (1): Joe

Steel (1): Lopen

Badger (2): Wilson, Straw

Straw (1): Stink

Bort (2): Kidpen, Elenion

Elenion (1): Mraize

@Kidpen I believe so.

Yes, you still win. I'm keeping my vote on Araris, since I still haven't seen much else suspicious stuff. Today will be slightly busier than yesterday at work, I think, so this might be the last time I can get on the shard before the end of the cycle.

I want to get a vote down, so I'm going to put mine on Bort. I don't think any of this joking about the doc is suspicious, especially since most of it was just playing follow-the-leader. Maybe the first person to bring it up might be a bit more suspicious, but after that it looked to be people looking for some lighthearted humor. (Although if he is right, I'm going to look really bad for this.)

Why do you feel the need to point this out, Elenion? You're right in that it would look somewhat bad, but your comment also seems very reasonable, so even if Bort was right, I doubt most people would give it more than a passing glance. But now that you took time to specifically call out that eventuality (and in doing so, I assume you're trying to protect yourself from any fallout), I'd be more suspicious of you if Bort ends up being right, not less.

In most cases, the answer is yes. If this isn't the case, it's usually mentioned specifically in the rules.

@Mraize, yes, you're allowed to RP during the night. Why wouldn't you be allowed to do so?

Because people are being sacrificed and converted and such.

See, Mraize, now you do have reason to join in the Kidpen voting :)

Also, Straw, why the vote for Honey Badger? And STINK Imperial Mint, why the vote on Straw? Was it as simple as he forgot to include the Imperial part of your mintyness?

Edit:

Mraize, RP is sort of an ongoing, optional, thing throughout the game.

And yeah, I RP when I have something I think will make for a good write up. At the moment though, I have nothing. Feel free to tag me in RP though, I will respond :)

Perhaps. I partly don't want to kill Kidpen right now because she is a firstie, like me.

@Mraize Could you provide some reasoning for your vote on me, other than that you don't want to get in the middle of the feud? I defended Mraize: so what? I don't think I was being very deceptive about taking the heat off of him. I'm reading him neutral, with the doc joking being non-alignment-indicative (NAI), so I voted on Bort for going after something NAI so strongly.

Edit: I defended Kidpen, not Mraize. *facepalm*

I feel like your talk on the Shu-dereth is suspicous. Even if it does/did prove useful. I just want someone I know I can trust. So for now, Elenion, I will call off my vote. Just so many things are happening.

Kidpen (2): Pyro, Bort

Araris (1): Joe

Steel (1): Lopen

Badger (2): Wilson, Straw

Straw (1): Stink

Bort (2): Kidpen, Elenion

Just looking at this list, I do feel the cross vote, Kidpen & Bort, know something I don't and it is bugging me.

You mean I know something you don't, or Bort does, or both, or the people who voted for us?

Well, you voting for bort and vice vera says something to me, in this case it probably doesn't mean anything because it is day 1. I just want the reasoning...

My vote on Bort is because he went after players so strongly for their joking. Kidpen's is probably for similar reasons. I don't think the current vote state is suspicious because no actions could have been sent yet, so there's no way for anyone to know anyone else's alignments other than being on their team, and you wouldn't attempt to lynch your teammate. (Although admittedly, distancing votes are a thing.)

So what was all your posts on Shu-dereth?

When I made my first post on D1, I talked about Jeskeri and Derethi Pendants about equally, and proposed a plan for dealing with both. Then I went to sleep and discussion around Jeskeri pendants basically died out, but Derethi Pendants were still being debated about, so I joined that discussion. That led to Drake realizing that some Derethi might not claim, which necessitated more discussion. Here I even tried to restart discussion about the Jeskeri, but that didn't go anywhere either. It's not that I've been exclusively focused on the Derethi; there are just more things about them to discuss, because the Jeskeri are similar to the generic elim faction that we face every game in a row.

@Drake Marshall I think there would have to be a fairly specific setup for the Derethi pendant to actually make a difference in winning the game. Especially since a blocked lynch would mean that the next thing to happen would be an elim kill, so the village would be worse off than before. I think the only time it could really make a difference is if people start going inactive and the elims do a hammer before they have actually won. And again, that wouldn't help much if the Gyorn is still running around. Everyone else had sort of decided that the pendants weren't helpful, so I was trying to think of a possible use, but this what I came up with was somewhat specific.

Hm. I would say that potentially deflecting a lynch is a pretty strong power, with more than niche applications. I guess part of why this confuses me is that evil players might have Derethi pendants too, and if we throw all ours away the evils become comparatively more powerful.

The conversion is a significant drawback of the Derethi pendants, but I think I'd echo Aman, in that people should use them at their own discretion depending on the situation, weighing the costs and benefits of doing so.

It'd be nice if we could hold the conversion powers in check by using pendants on people who are already converts. But in some cases, altering the lynch could really be decisive, so I sort of feel like it depends.

*gasp* are you saying Ateshao shouldn't trust you while you are drunk? :o

Also, people who vote together this early in the game are, if anything, rather unlikely to be in league because they do not want to be seen as such (although that's very IKYK).

This game has some interesting dynamics unfolding. I really want to see where this leads.

Mobile makes that hard. The color change isn't there for me. Thank you for the reminder!

You can type out

(color="red")  (/color)  for red

(color="green")  (/color)  for green

(color="blue")  (/color)  for blue

and etc.

except using [ and ] instead of ( and )

If you have an iphone (I don't know if you can do this on Android, but probably) you can go into Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement and put in your own shortcuts. Personally I use the phrase "colorred," "colorgreen," and etc to change a color, and then "endcolor" to end it. Make sure you include the endcolor tag or it won't work.
