Silverblade5 he/him Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I saw a few one act plays today. They included parodies of the Illiad, Sherlock Holmes, and beauty and the beast. I actually managed to survive the things.

Silverblade5 he/him Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I assume they weren't very good parodies, then? Considering I actually saw the whole thing, yes.
azninvasion99 he/him Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 So I signed up for an Audible trial since I am able to listen to stuff while at work, and while I like being able to enjoy a book while doing other things, it just feels really weird to have a book read to me. I'm always wanting the narrator to read just a little bit faster as well. Anyone else feel the similar about audiobooks?

Delightful Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) I got basically the same result as Twi, only a bit closer to the center point. Bands of Mourning was amazing! This is coming from the guy who doesn't like Era 2 all that much, but BoM was awesome! It's up there with Era 1 for me. I'm just over halfway in Secret History, and that's a lot of fun too, but I don't recommend it until you've read the rest of the cosmere first. .......secret history is very cosmere heavy? Is it in the back of BoM or do you have to buy it separately? Warriormark, go to sleep. Walls don't breathe Edited January 30, 2016 by Delightful

Walls don't breathe It's completely separate: an ebook only. For now. Well, there's lots of namedrops and hints to the larger cosmere and how it works, so if you want to fully understand all the references, you should know the Cosmere quite well, but if you get around here at all, you should be fine.

Kestrel she/her Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 How many spoilers are in Secret History for BoM? I'm thinking about getting it and reading it while I wait but I don't want to spoil BoM for myself.
STINK he/him Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 At the front it has a note saying that while it is okay to read after the first three books, Brandon personally thinks it should be read after BoM.
Mestiv he/him Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Personnally I think there weren't any spoilers for BoM in SSH but maybe I didn't notice. Reading SE won't ruin any BoM surprises, so I guess it's quite safe.

I'm thinking about getting it and reading it while I wait but I don't want to spoil BoM for myself. Most fans are of the opinion that you should read Bands first. I am one of those. Brandon calls it a minor spoiler, but is a darn big minor spoiler, and to have the biggest impact and maximum fun, you should read Bands first. Elsewhere, I've said that reading Secret History first would ruin your first read of Bands (personal opinion, mileage may vary) Edited January 30, 2016 by Lying Orlion
The Honor Spren she/her Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Definitely. Read Bands first.
