I finally finished Retail, now I don't know what to do with my spare time.... it left me with a Christopher Walken like need for more... (except substitute cow bell for Lunker)...

I think this was my favorite Lunker comic in the series:

I recommend such wonderful webcomics as Order of the Stick and Skin Horse (assuming you don't already read them).

Oh nice, New Orleans is interesting. Good luck with your job! When are you moving?

Or have you moved yet, idk because I've stopped lurking as much now.

No, I haven't moved yet. I just got the call this morning. They said they're flexible on move dates, but I have to go in for a physical and a drug test. After that I have 14 days to start. So the plan is to go down there, check out apartments and everything, and drive my stuff down later. Haven't worked out all the details yet, but I'm super excited.

It'll be great, I know it will.

When you move your stuff, unpack it the moment you arrive otherwise it will never get done, just a tip. You don't want to be living out of boxes for months.

What furniture will you have? You will want a nice couch (big enough so if you have company over they can sleep on it if needbe), a table, and a few chairs. And a bed for yourself. Doesn't have to be good furniture but you should buy some of it.

Well, I just got an email from Silver City. Apparently, I was their top candidate.

I've already accepted the Metarie job, though. New Orleans is way cooler than Silver City.

Ha!   It's always feast or famine with these things.  Next thing you know, Iowa will be calling with the wibble-face, completing the trifecta of Twi Is Awesome Give Her A Job.

"No one knew who the mother of Eleanor Stone was, but there were sure rumors going around about it. Her father was the local gravedigger, you see."

You know that feeling when you have a really good first line, but have no idea how to continue from there?

I... think I might accidentally have converted my English Extension teacher to Sanderson. As an Icebreaker question, we were asked about the last non-prescribed text we read, and I basically started raving about Mistborn Era 2. And she said she's curious and would be interested in reading it.

Huh.

Oh, that sounds interesting to me, you have to have drug test before you get a job? Is it required for every job or is it just because you'll be working with kids etc?

Good luck with moving :) go and infiltrate those Evil Librarians!

Well, I know that you need a 'police check' (checking you've never been in prison or been declared as insane) before working with children in Australia. We have more of a roadside Random Breath Testing by way of stopping drug users.

Most, if not all jobs in the US require drug testing. Remember that just about everything except tobacco and alcohol are illegal over here.

It's pretty much the same in germany.

Isn't marijuana sometimes legal?

Now, in certain states yes it is, in specific situations. But the practice of drug tests dates way back, long before the very recent law changes.

Not that I care who you vote for, but to not vote for someone because they're a liar would rule out...well, everyone.
