TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Does that mean that a certain hologramm is actually a disguised Jar Jar? It's possible.
Kaymyth she/her Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 My friends, it is time for me to embark upon a quest. A quest for (*dun dun duuunnn*) hairpins! James and I are going to a One-Man Star Wars Trilogy show tonight, and I want to do my hair in Princess Leia cinnabuns.
Kestrel she/her Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Ah man I guess I'll wait. Bands is supposed to be at my door on Monday.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 You know that feel where you hated a book the first time you read it, and you put it down and say mean things about it, and then you pick it up a few years later and realize it's absolutely amazing and you want to sit on all of your friends until they read it so you'll have someone to discuss it with? No? Just me? Well, that's how I'm feeling, and while I'm here, you should all read Vicious by V.E. Schwab.
Curiosity he/him Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) How many spoilers are in Secret History for BoM? I'm thinking about getting it and reading it while I wait but I don't want to spoil BoM for myself. Hum... I think that it's a little bit ambiguous. There were things in Bands that I was expecting, but I've consumed all the Scadrian hints I could find, so there weren't all that many spoilers for BoM in a Secret History. If you're a die-hard fan and have read all the signings and stuff like that, then I think that SH won't be that much of a spoiler, but if you've only read the previous five books, you should definitely read BoM first. I might give Hemingway a try one of these days…. And for a second, I panicked, then I asked "Wait—what spoiler?" and then I realized it wasn't a spoiler I posted. #awkwardshardermoments 1
STINK he/him Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Is there any way to get hardback versions of the cooler-looking UK Covers rather than the US covers for BS books?
Kestrel she/her Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Is there any way to get hardback versions of the cooler-looking UK Covers rather than the US covers for BS books? You could order from a retailer out of the UK? Maybe Amazon? I know you can buy the German Warrior cats books on Amazon but idk about Sanderson's stuff.
STINK he/him Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 UK Amazon has it so that when you choose hardback, it shows you the American covers but paperback is the cool one. Might have to go with paperback, but seeing as I prefer hardback just wanted to see if that was available.
Kestrel she/her Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Yeah, the covers could be different. I know with the US versions of Mistborn they are.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Me: *telling a story to my sister* Mom: OH! Twisister, once Twi is done with her story, I need your help with this thing because of reasons that I will explain to you in detail! Sister: I'll go help her now. Mom: *is happy because that's exactly what she wanted and my story was just a distraction* 1

Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Lark, I personally believe that BoM isn't spoiled all that bad by SH. The main thing is that the very last reveal in BoM will be slightly less surprising but that's about it. Especially if you've read most of the Mistborn WoBs, those already spoil the "reveals" except one. Edited January 31, 2016 by Mailliw73

Kestrel she/her Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Someone just reblogged some of my art on tumblr and removed the caption despite the fact I specifically wrote in said caption "do not remove caption." Ah yes, the epitome of human stupidity.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Have you considered "Movin' Out" by Billy Joel for said playlist? Another excellent Billy Joel addition: "My Life" I'll have to listen to those. So far I have... "Almost There"—Princess and the Frog soundtrack "Circus for a Psycho"—Skillet (to remind me why I'm leaving) "Down and Out"—Tantric (see above) "Heart Shaped Box"—Nirvana (see above) "I Don't Care"—Apocalyptica (see above) "It's Not Me, It's You"—Skillet (see above) "In The End"—Linkin Park (see above) "I Will Not Bow"—Breaking Benjamin "Even if it Breaks Your Heart"—Eli Young Band "State I'm In"—Needtobreathe "Follow Your Arrow"—Kacey Musgraves "Good as Gone"—Little Big Town (so it's a breakup song. sue me.) "Happy"—Pharrell Williams "Here Is Gone"—Goo Goo Dolls (very little to do with leaving, but it was the first secular song I heard and loved, so there's sentimental value) "Indian Summer"—The Waiting (in case I panic, the chorus is "put your mind at ease") "Last Friday Night"—Katy Perry (because my mom isn't there to raise an eyebrow) "Roar"—Katy Perry "Let It Go"—Frozen soundtrack "Me Against the World"—Simple Plan "Pressing On"—Relient K "The Pretender"—Foo Fighters "Raise Your Glass"—P!nk "Send Me On My Way"—Rusted Root "Shout"—Tears for Fears "Sick Cycle Carousel"—Lifehouse "Teenagers"—My Chemical Romance "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs"—Fall Out Boy "This"—Darius Rucker "Victorious"—Panic! At the Disco ….huh. I have a lot more than I thought I did. I literally just went through my phone and found all the songs I'm going to add, since I haven't actually made the playlist yet.

You should definitely go through and add some things by Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, and/or Flanigan's Right Hook. Because nothing says rebellion quite like some good Irish punk. 1

"Going Out in Style" would be a good one, I think.

Kaymyth she/her Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I am tired. Maybe I should go to bed early. ...but then I'd have to take the Leia buns out of my hair.
Zathoth Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I am tired. Maybe I should go to bed early. ...but then I'd have to take the Leia buns out of my hair. I know this goes against canon and all, but you could go to sleep, or you could challenge James to a lightsaber duel.
Kaymyth she/her Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I know this goes against canon and all, but you could go to sleep, or you could challenge James to a lightsaber duel. I think we only have one lightsaber in the house. ...I could make him put on his 10th Doctor jacket and I could challenge him with my lightsaber vs. his sonic screwdriver.
