Day Two: The Ancients

What happens when you encounter something ancient? Some have talked of reverence and the weight of history.

I encountered the ancient and felt only infinitesimal.

Compared to a being older than the mind can comprehend, we are nothing.

No one died!

Kasimir is insane

Wrath of Shades counter: 5%

Rule Clarifications:

Spoiler
  1. Wrath of Shades can only kill the person who sent in the action that triggered it. If a Cultist and a Crossbow user both kill in the same night, they are both rolled at the same percentage and could both be killed.
  2. If a Cultist and Crossbow user are the only ones alive at a night turn, both take action to kill the other, and no other actions are involved (such as the Pallid Mask), the game will end on a tie.
  3. Pallid Mask and Elder Sign Pendant are both passive items.
  4. You cannot use Voice in the Crowd to change a vote to a no vote.
  5. Pallid masks do not stop such actions as opening PMs or passing items as they are not "actions taken against" a player, as in not aggressive actions.

To comment on a discussion last turn involving @Illwei and @The Known Novel:

Please do not use such terms as OMGUS in this community. Please refer to the thread rules and etiquette policy, which outline that we are to be polite and treat each other as individuals. Even if we do not like things other players do, terms such as OMGUS are inherently disrespectful and can be harmful.

Wouldn't you know if you were attacked? :P. That would be helpful to know. There's a difference between the worlds where you were attacked versus went insane via Spellbook or something.

According to Elan, no >>

@Ashbringer my question still stands, what do you imagine?

Huh?

Oh. I was imagining Telrao/Fae swapping out would make activity less engaging, but there's other reasons I see.

Ash

You think I'd shoot Kas first?

Also immediately assuming the Elims wouldn't WGG Kas is precisely why WGGing is a strategy.

Does require me to agree to deepwolf though. We know my opinions on that :P

But like, assuming you didn't use a Spellbook last night, there's a 5% chance of an inactive team / blocked kill. The other 95% is you being attacked.

Edit: Is there any reason you wouldn't, Ash?

Why 5% chance? Are you thinking of the world in which I failed my roll?

Maybe the plan wasn't to do the protect part of the WGG

... okay can't whisper emotes.

I don't think it's a WGG either, not yet, but I'm not entirely discounting the idea. Plus it lets us look for who'd shoot Kas first. Like Alvron might.

Unforgettable Horrors means that everyone independently has a 5% chance of going insane at the end of every Night turn. So either that happened and the kill didn't occur some other way, you used a Spellbook and lost the 20% insanity chance (and the kill didn't occur some other way), or you were attacked and protected.

Obviously, the latter is more likely, but I think it's worth thinking about. Certainly worth mentioning whether or not you used a Spellbook.

Indeed, clearly a plan to let me die honorably and exit the game failed, foiled by...whatever the chulls just went down :P

Fair enough, and it's a good attitude to have.

It's interesting to me actually, in terms of likely targeting.

It's also possible our White Fox roleblocked the kill and Kas is just Insane.

Haven't you heard @Amanuensis and @Illwei on that score? :eyes:

Edited to add:

Imma be honest, Mat is forgetting something and it's making me wonder if that makes him more likely to be a Villager or not.

Can you explain how replacing those players would decrease activity?
