  1. Sadly, without knowing how the sand masters are chosen and trained, we don't really know how it relates to Autonomy. Autonomy is definitely the Shard on Taldain, and the investiture that currently powers sand mastery is from her. It seems like it follows bloodlines to a degree, but even that's kinda tenuous. Sorry
  2. I think Brandon said that he planned to include it in OB.
  3. Yeah I know what it's from and why. I just hope it's not the case because acronyms
  4. Yep.
  5. Yeah but Shallan is also a hot mess, and is in deep denial about her fourth Truth, so she's not the best example But yeah, it could be that different orders get theirs at different times.
  6. I'm not entirely sure what your first question is (how does this work), but in answer to the scene with the helm... Remember that the helm was already badly cracked and leaking, and you can fix Shardblade by feeding it stormlight. Generally this comes from gems, but a Radiant will work too. Also, the helm was from a suit of "dead" Shardplate. Radiant Shardplate is going to be as different from that as live spren Blades are different from dead Blades. Needing less stormlight, and not breaking/cracking are likely two differences between them.
  7. For the book titles. So SoS is currently Shadows of Self. If the next book is Song of Secrets, it would also be SoS. Bad!
  8. Because Pedantry is the Second Rule of 17th Shard Discord
  9. That's the standard/original definition. Nonplussed meaning the opposite, i.e. not surprised, totally normal, is a new definition that has popped up the last few years. I don't get it either, since I've only ever heard it with the original definition.
  10. But again, ending series 1 on a failure isn't generally a good writing choice.
  11. Yeah I think Brandon is intending that conservation of mass happens most of the time, but that he misses some instances because he's not a physicist. Peter is the science nerd on the team.
  12. See, Odium being free would mean that the protagonists have failed in at least one major way. Books 1-5 are supposed to be their own arc, then 6-10 are another arc, with an overarcing story that ties them both together. Having the first arc end with a failure, I feel would be a bad idea.
  13. I don't think that can be considered canon at this point. Brandon liked the idea of Breath leaking away, yeah, but he hasn't written it or said definitively that it will happen.
  14. Yeah the Lightweaver resonance is their mnemonic abilities.
  15. Nooo. If it's Song of Secrets, it will mess up our acronym system!
  16. No, Elhokar didn't do the gemstones, he did the strap. I think the gemstones might have been weakened because Elhokar was drawing in a tiny bit of their stormlight, since he was on the Radiant path.
  17. So when you raise a piece of paper to look at it, then lower it again, watch the way your arm moves. A natural position is to have your palm facing toward your body, with the wrist and shoulder slightly bent outward to keep the paper from smacking into you. That turns the paper outward and makes it visible to anyone standing in front of you, particularly in front and to the side opposite your hand.
  18. Mistborn Era 2 is after Stormlight 5, so I don't think it's Odium. I don't think Stormlight 5 will end in a defeat, which freeing Odium would (in my mind) count as.
  19. Here's my list of questions if anyone has the time to ask them! Some OB spoilers, so behind a spoiler tag
  20. I don't think we can say that Autonomy did anything substantial to help Odium with D&D from that WoB. "In any way" could range from splintering Devotion herself to saying, "Hey, Odium, did you know there's a planet with two Shards on it?" Given how hesitant that WoB sounds, there's at least some amount of reaching involved. Also, Honor and Cultivation were together for thousands of years. They were romantically involved. I don't think they would have been distant from each other...inasmuch as distance means anything to Shards, for all of that time.
  21. Yeah, it sounds like Ash was just able to see the drawings as Jasnah lowered them or held them.
  22. Yeah, but that wasn't his original name.
  23. Yeah that's vague to the point of not meaning anything, though.
  24. Not that I recall. I know some have speculated about it, but there's never been any indication of it by Brandon.
