His gem was sphere shaped. It wasn't a sphere as in the money spheres, with a small gemstone surrounded by glass.
-
We don't know this for sure. And Navani says that Gavilar made a sphere that looked similar to the King's Drop.

Is hoid aware that he's a fictional character?
RShara replied to Jehoiada's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Brandon says that Hoid means it literally, and that it's not a reference that breaks the fourth wall. -
[OB] Why Aluminium Wipes Investiture
RShara replied to The Thinking Herald's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Here's an interesting aluminum WoB from Jordancon It really seems to imply aluminum is its own thing, not like god metals or anything else we've seen. -
I think the main one that he kept, that he said They couldn't get their hands on, was an Unmade, while the others were voidspren or voidlight, myself.

Physical and Mechanical Investiture Access?
RShara replied to ReadAndFindOut's question in Cosmere Q&A
But then what's the difference between, say, Forgery and Fabrials? Because Brandon definitely defines fabrials as mechanical.- 13 replies

[OB] Why Aluminium Wipes Investiture
RShara replied to The Thinking Herald's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I disagree about aluminum being Adonalsium's god metal, because all of the god metals we've seen form as pure metals. Aluminum has to be refined and requires fairly modern technology. Lerasium, atium, Shardblades, etc, when they form, are formed pure. -
Physical and Mechanical Investiture Access?
RShara replied to ReadAndFindOut's question in Cosmere Q&A
D'oh! You're right. Silly me. So yeah, Forgery would seem to be a mechanical means of accessing investiture, then.- 13 replies

Connection Between The Shards And The Metallic Arts
RShara replied to Omniforce's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yes, I should have said "Not all the Shards have directly opposing intents." They still would then not be able to fit perfectly into the Allomantic chart, though. -
One thing to remember is that while it looks like a picture, some of the stars would be much closer or much farther away, not perfectly aligned on a flat surface. I think it would be more the systems and the suns rather than the specific planets and their rotation. During the day, Roshar might be turned the wrong way for Sel to be "northwest" of it, but the spatial relation between the Roshar system and the Sel system wouldn't change. I don't think most of the peoples that live on the cosmere planets are aware that other civilizations I don't think most of the peoples that live on the cosmere planets are aware that other civilizations exist on other planets, so I don't think their perception is going to make a big difference in how Shadesmar looks. It would mostly be the spren, the Shards, and the worldhoppers. Of those, I suspect the Shards have the most influence on the spatial relationship between the planets and systems. By present, I think Brandon means, like, a patch of ground. And Weltall has added much more while I distracted from typing this, so... What he(she) said!

Physical and Mechanical Investiture Access?
RShara replied to ReadAndFindOut's question in Cosmere Q&A
Yeah. Also, hmmmm I wonder, once a soulstamp is carved and set, can *anyone* use it to stamp the object?- 13 replies

Brandon has said that the Shards do not have a directly paired opposing intent, and each of the metals does. -

I think it's a good question because the two Cobs were noticed.

Physical and Mechanical Investiture Access?
RShara replied to ReadAndFindOut's question in Cosmere Q&A
I think the uses on Sel are kind of in between, because of the unique nature of Sel's environment. Forgery and Aons are hard to define. Like, once an Aon is written on a piece of metal or stone, anyone can activate it, right? Like the Aons for light and opening doors and such? And Forgery is even harder to say. I think it slants toward the mechanical rather than the organic, but I can see it either way.- 13 replies

Physical and Mechanical Investiture Access?
RShara replied to ReadAndFindOut's question in Cosmere Q&A
LOL I answered you on reddit too. Fabrials and Honorblades, Medallions, and airships, off the top of my head, are mechanical means of accessing investiture. Investiture done by people would be the physical kind. That might be phrased poorly. Perhaps organic and mechanical would be a better way to put it.- 13 replies

Such good points. Stealing

I'm sure he could manage some small influences while trapped, but what was happening on Scadrial seemed like far more than that. Also, while his investiture might be everywhere, his mind is finite, and is trapped on Roshar.

Yep, which is why I didn't go over it all again. I didn't say I didn't think Odium wouldn't gain anything, I said that I didn't think Odium would get free.
-
Era 2 takes place after SA 5 but before SA10, so I don't see how it can be Odium.

Yes, Adolin had his Shardblade but did not have it summoned when he went through the Oathgate. I believe the deadeyes stay where they are in Shadesmar, or appear in the Physical Realm, then reappear where they were in Shadesmar before they were summoned. Otherwise Notum having his grandfather in the hold of his ship wouldn't work. And Brandon talks about if you were on another planet and summoned a Shardblade, it might take a few years because of the limitations of the speed of light. When Syl isn't a Shardblade, she's in the Physical Realm with Kaladin, floating, walking, playing with windspren, etc. When Syl is a Shardblade, she's just the Shardblade.

Uh, no, it's definitely the sun.
