Deepest ones and a person soulcast into stone
PewterAGoldF replied to PewterAGoldF's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Thanks! love me some WOBs and also for that interesting thread. As it relates to this disscussion, i suppose that if a lifeless of a swordsman is better at swords play than a lifeless of a peasant something remains with the body. If an awakened soulcast statue of a dead swordsman is also better at sword play then we could conclude that whatever stays with lifeless was present in the stone before it was awakened...? -
Deepest ones and a person soulcast into stone
PewterAGoldF replied to PewterAGoldF's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Thanks. This is this was basically what I was thinking too. The person dies (or is already dead) and their mind goes with them in the cognitive, but the stone remembers something. -
So a deepest one gets a stone soulcaster and turns a person to stone and then communes with that stone. Do you think that they would have access to that persons memories?

PewterAGoldF started following Compounding pewter? , Deepest ones and a person soulcast into stone , Spikes & Lifeless and 4 others

So if the memories override the breath control it would be like a poor mans Returned, and if it were the Breath overrides the memories it would basically be useless. No chance of a lifeless you control that also has the knowlege of their past life and can answer questions about it and perform intelligent tasks they could do while alive?
-
Hi, since my idea is along the same lines I will post it here. Would it be possible to hemalurge the Intelligence and memories out of someone with a copper spike, then awaken that person as a lifeless and then give that lifeless the spike with their own mind and memories? Would they still be under your control if it worked?

Wax can already fly good enough, and becoming a radiant might make him lose his resonance. Wayne on the other hand becoming any kind of radiant would be almost taken to compounding level of healing ability through stormlight.

Was Adolin carrying his shardblade when he went through the Oathgate? Is Maya walking around as a deadeyes in shadesmar when Adolin summons her as a blade or does she dissapear from Shadesmar? When Syl is not a shardblade is she walking around shadesmar? When Syl is being a shardblade for Kaladin is she living a parallel life in shadesmar? The spren in shadesmar who talk about looking after deadeyes so they dont walk off the edge of the boat would have a hard time doing so if they kept dissapearing and turning up in different places. Could someone clear this up for me, or is it still all speculation?

"Would you like to destroy some aluminium today?" "For the thousandth time no!" "WHY AM I ALIVE!" "Honestly I got the breaths and wanted to play around, I thought I could call them back. And then I had to waste the rest of my breaths making this stupid sheath that can hold you" Sheath: "Dude! I'm right here!" But seriously, you wouldnt describe Nightblood as a sword that cuts through evil things but is normal in every other manner.
-
I guess that commanding Nightblood to destroy evil gave it special effects that not all awakened swords would have, so maybe specificity does have effect.. Then again maybe not, I mean he doesnt destroy evil so much as he destroys everything except shardblades and aluminium. "Destroy aluminium"

[OB] Just finished reading, have small questions
PewterAGoldF replied to Niteshado's topic in Stormlight Archive
For question 1 I was reading and waiting for a reveal that Shallan might have been doing more than light weaving. Shes regular crazy as well of course, but she is also a soul caster who is summoning stormlight and willing herself to become someone else. I know thats not how soulcasting works, but i thought about how twin born are said to also get some kind of third power that is emergent from their two powers. I also remembered the scene where she drew a person, Elhokar I think, as a more confident figure and showed it to him to profound effect. Possible soulstamping? -
If you were a twinborn, what would you like to be?
PewterAGoldF replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Mistborn
I guess you are right that you would not get all the benefits of a good night sleep from tapping wakefulness, because some of the benefits are side benefits, such as healing. However I did imagine the memory loss and psychological instability would at least be far decreased otherwise a wakefulness compounder wouldn’t be able to go more than a week. I think the need for sleep is mostly due to these things, as in, they are what you are saving up essentially. As for the slow draw like Atium versus the massive bursts all the time, I was hoping there would be some benefit coming from super wakefulness rather than just having extended normal wakefulness. Something like if someone took some alertness drug, or the things hwiles mentioned. It would be cool if possible. When the villain idea was mentioned I thought about them using savanted bronze to search for Harmonies Pool tirelessly. Perhaps with the limitations you mentioned he could take to sleeping just to get Harmony out of his head (which he can access through insanity).- 155 replies

This makes me wonder what compounding wakefulness would look like, burning a metalmind of one nights sleep as fast as you can would do what exactly? Perhaps he would get some kind of boost on top of never getting sleepy, like Miles Teg never feeling pain.- 155 replies

Allomantic aluminium and feruchemical nicrosil the twin gnat! But my real answer was set in stone when i chose my name here. I do however question why the Inquisitors were said to spend soo much time storing health when surely they would have pewter. For the real world, where I dont really think about combat, then zinc compounding for sure - unlimited mental speed plus rioting emotions in individuals or groups would be the quickest way to win at life. Second choice steel + steel for in the cosmere.- 155 replies

Since strength from allomantic Pewter doesnt come from muscle size and while storing strength from allomantic pewter doesnt make you skinnier, perhaps compounding that strength, rather than regular feruchemical strength, would let you tap strength without growing in bulk? I suppose this comes down to whether the nature of the ability is preserved, would a tin compounder be able to burn tin and store sight, then tap that sight and still be able to see through mists like with allomantic tin?

So if you wore your only goldmind on your head and got decapitated you just die? Because the spirit stays with the larger portion. I mean if you carried your only goldmind on your arm and that arm got cut off, the rest of you wouldnt drop dead while the arm grows a new you...
