  1. Right, he was, in essence, Highlord Sadeas because he was in that position. But it was as a regent for the actual heir.
  2. Well that's not what the OP asked. But no, I don't think so. Honorspren, Cryptics, etc, haven't been thought of on Roshar for a couple millennia, and "honorable" to the current Alethi cultural dominance isn't really very honorable. Yet honorspren are still the same.
  3. She made him the equivalent of a highprince, yeah, but not actually highprince. He was a regent for Sadeas and Ialai's nephew, who was the actual heir.
  4. Aren't all the Alethi highprinces descendents of the Sunmaker? And that they're all interrelated, with lineages and family lines and stuff? I don't think that Ahan from Elantris (which would be something near 1000 years before WoK) would manage to insinuate himself into society to such a degree that he would be able to be an Alethi highprince. Yeah
  5. I don't think so. The investiture that they're made of is fixed. There would need to be some outside force exerted on the spren in order to change it.
  6. Yes, they're metal with a gemstone affixed to the inner side.
  7. Urithiru is not a space ship Also, Brandon currently has it that humans came to Roshar through the Spiritual Realm, if he can get the physics to work. So they are not likely how the cities were shaped. In addition, the 10 Cymatic cities would have been made long after humans came to Roshar from Ashyn, since they were originally only given Shinovar to live in. Or they existed before humans invaded and took over them.
  8. Brandon and his Aes Sedai answers!
  9. Here's a good topic on the matter
  10. He definitely has. I put the WoB in the other thread where this is brought up, but here it is again
  11. Kaladin has Seasonal Affected Disorder. When there's a lack of sunlight and such, he gets more depressed.
  12. A lot of world hoppers are using some sort of time dialation effect to skip over stretches of time. We don't know how this works or where it happens, though. Full cosmere spoilers

Do you know if we ever got a picture of that for Arcanum?

Yeah that was resolved in another WoB. The general consensus was yes, but the Shardblade would still cut like a normal sword.
  15. What's unique to Wax is that he can exclude the things he wants to from his Push. His bubble only affects the things he doesn't deliberately exclude. Other Steel burners can obviously Push things away from them in a "bubble" but I don't think they can exclude specific objects from that Pushing.

  17. LOL That's awesome!
  18. We should probably get this moved to the OB forum. But basically, yes, there was a city on the Shattered Plains, Stormseat, aka Narak. It was shattered at some point between Aharietiam and the Recreance (we think). Some of the buildings remained, and were eventually covered over in crem. The pattern Shallan figures out is related to how they were shattered--they were shattered in a (6? or 8? fold) symmetrical pattern. So she was able to extrapolate the shape of the plateaus once she'd seen one iteration of the pattern. The city that was built on the Plains was also shattered, but enough of it remains to figure out some of how it was laid out. And the plateaus those remnants are on would still follow the pattern of the shattered plateaus, anyway.
  19. I can't recall why mandate was rejected, but motive/purpose/motivation were off because...well, like, is Honor's purpose to be Honorable? To have others act with Honor? Or to be the essence of Honor/to be Honorable? It's a hard thing to define. So, intent, as long as we use it correctly, should be fine until Brandon gives us a canon term. Anyway, let's not derail the thread any further.
  20. I miss the mega-death robots.
  21. It's been debated, but no one's come u p with a really really good replacement yet.
  22. Intent, when referring to a Shard, is actually not supposed to be capitalized. It's a non-canon term that @Chaos coined because we don't have a better one. Intent is capitalized a few times in the book, when used to mean "doing something with purpose", so we have to be careful in using the right term in the right way.
  23. Those footnotes are sneaky things.
  24. There's no hard and fast answer to this, alas. It's "however long it takes to accomplish his goals" is about all we can say.
