  1. Doesn't Wayne talk about this in BoM? How it healed the worst injuries (the spine) first, etc. It was when they played Rotten Tomato.
  2. Ascension has a range, I think. You have what Dalinar did at the low end, and becoming a full, permanent Shard on the high end. Ascension via the Well would be a bit higher than what Dalinar did, but much less than full Shard Ascension. Either way, a Sliver is defined as someone who has held a significant part of a Shard for a period of time, so Dalinar definitely qualifies as one.
  3. So in other words, it's a hot mess. A couple of times.
  4. It sounds like a true Ascension, albeit a small one. I don't think he held as much as was contained in the Well, for example. But enough to now be considered a Sliver.
  5. I guess their roles can be viewed as similar, but their attitudes, characterization and thoughts are very different. Eshonai was adventurous but thought of her people first. Venli is power-hungry and put herself before everyone else. And considering Brandon's been saying he's willing to write a flashback book for someone dead for years, I really don't think this was a spur-of-the-moment thing.
  6. Kaladin was only on the 2nd Ideal at the time, so she wouldn't have been able to turn into a Blade at all. I think she was probably a deadeye in the CR, but had no presence in the PR.
  7. Brandon also implies that perfect gems aren't all that big a thing, and that there are a number of them. And that many of them aren't permanent. Kind of ephemeral for something that sounds as powerful as a Dawnshard. Also, the Elsecallers knew of and kept "Honor's Drop" before the Recreance, which is probably the same stone as the King's Drop. So Honor should have known about it and not been worried about "without the Dawnshards..." We also don't know that the Stone of Ten Dawns even really ever existed or that the ruby is actually a piece of it.
  8. If you say so... (how is he staying upright?!). Also their eyes, teeth, and the inside of their mouths are the same color as their skin....
  9. Which is fine. Everyone experiences things differently
  10. I really liked Eshonai better than I do Venli, myself, but I don't think Eshonai was ever meant to survive. From the way Brandon has phrased things, I get the feeling Eshonai was always slated to die and Venli always meant to be the relevant character.
  11. Yep. Lots of different opinions.
  12. You're right that it's realistic. But it can also be a bit annoying for readers, too
  13. You might appreciate reading this thread
  14. If you miss any, we can mute the segment after it's been uploaded too
  15. I kind of saw it as akin to what happened to the parshmen. Part of their minds were ripped away as well, and the Everstorm was able to Heal that. And it seems like the parshmen who were healed that way were still themselves afterward. We don't know a lot about the mechanics of the Nahel bond, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility that whatever is forming between Adolin and Maya can result in a similar healing?
  16. It's not a rule, just I feel that it's a nice just in case sort of thing.
  17. And there's stuff like this, where I swear the # of limbs doesn't match up with the # of heads...
  18. Thank you! Looking forward to hearing it
  19. Well, to be fair, Brandon's said he wished that he'd made it more clear that Jasnah wasn't dead. He never meant it to be as big a question as it was. He thought it was somewhat obvious, because of the whole stormlight healing and her body going missing thing.
  20. Absolutely it makes sense for his character. I don't think anyone has said it doesn't. Just that sometimes it gets frustrating or annoying.
  21. As I said, I can sympathize with him while wanting to whack him upside the head Yes, I've felt the way he does. I just also still want to whack him one.
  22. You can appreciate and sympathize with what he's going through while also wanting to smack him upside the head
  23. Kalak seems to be cowardly and fretful, is all I can think of right now.
  24. Yeah I already edited my post because I was an idiot
  25. No, it's a theory, is all.
