  1. Oh right. Yeah there's def something weird with that dagger. Because dismissing them, they're still hanging around the Herald, able to be summoned. Leaving them means they're gone.
  2. Honorblades are dismissable. Szeth does it multiple times. What black smoke? Brandon's confirmed it's something like hemalurgy.
  3. Yeah, we don't know for sure (which is why I led with "unknown" ) It seems likely, but we don't know. The dagger is definitely something different, though.
  4. True. I was thinking of the University that Khriss is part of, I think.
  5. Mmmm no, because they give Moash/Vyre Jezrien's Honorblade right after that. And I don't think they can change shape THAT much. From a silvery sword to a small gold dagger is a significant change.
  6. Unknown, but I think it's likely they can change a little bit. Dead Shardblades can change a little, live ones can change a lot. So it wouldn't surprise me if Honorblades could change somewhat as well.
  7. The in-world 17th Shard. Hoid mentions them in his Letter. The Ire Silverlight That's all I can remember right now.
  8. Just because Szeth was slated to be book 3, doesn't mean he was the one slated to die. Or at least, not the *only* one slated to die. I think Szeth *not* dying was actually foreshadowed.
  9. This is why I'm suspicious of Rust Elthal.
  10. I remember the betrayal happening Darkside too. Wouldn't surprise me if that's a mistake in the GN. Sorry, I don't think that's Hoid. Hoid would never put himself in a position of visibility and responsibility. Plus, Bavadin isn't exactly fond of him, and I don't think he'd draw attention to himself that way. The random bard with the giant lute is a much better candidate.
  11. I don't know. The way savantism works/worked/will work is that the investiture warps your soul, and through it, the physical body. It enhances the effect, but damages your body (soul?) at the same time. Shards, I think, are beyond savantism or anything related to it. The investiture definitely changes their soul, but their physical body is sorta distributed and they don't really take harm from it. Best example is Spook. Flaring tin all the time caused him to be able to see, hear, etc, incredibly well while flaring. But without it, he could barely function, and all his senses were numbed. I don't think that's really related to what changes when you're holding as much investiture as a Shard.
  12. Ohhh that would make sense too!
  13. I don't think it's as simple as number of spikes. I mean, neither Vin nor Elend could control Inquisitors (though that might be because of Ruin controlling them). Like, kandra and koloss were built, specifically, by TLR to be controllable, iirc. Normal humans, whether turned into Inquisitors or not, seem to be different.
  14. Maybe Brandon forgot that he'd pointed out the skin and eyes in the text? Like, I just checked a WoB where he said he hasn't dug into this in the books...except he sorta did. Man's not infallible
  15. Right, we were pointing out that he does look Scadrian, not Rosharan. So it's not his appearance that we're missing.
  16. Oh, right, thanks! Hmmm
  17. Felt was confirmed to be a third son of a minor noble house during TFE, so if he's a kandra, he wouldn't be the same person, though. And if I remember correctly, his eyes are different than Rosharan-norm. But yeah, that WoB raises all sorts of questions... Maybe his boon was to blend in with Rosharan society? Or maybe he had "been that way before" but hadn't gone to the NW?
  18. It gave her a power boost so that she could see through copper clouds. The earring was made from her sister, that her mother killed to make the earring. The sister was a Seeker.
  19. They preferred to take Mistborn, but Seekers were their second choice, if Mistborn weren't available, yeah. Brandon's said a number of things about savantism, but the most relevant one is that going forward, he wants it to have both a benefit and a drawback, and that if a person is going to be a savant, he wants both to have strong thematic ties. So basically, savantism will work more like what happened to Spook rather than what's happened with Wax. If I remember correctly, in order to be a savant, you have to be constantly pushing your body with the power. So basically, flaring it a lot. I don't think a constant low-level burn would cause savantism. Or, it would take much much much longer.
  20. I agree with the first part completely. They've been so distorted that savantism really doesn't apply to them. For the second part, we were actually just discussing this on Discord, and when Moash meets the Fused that he kills, he specifically notices that her skin patterns are the same, but her features are different.
  21. Some smart people figured it all out
  22. Welcome! Yes, that is definitely a possibility. There've been a few discussions on it in the past, if you want to read them
  23. Yep. https://brandonsanderson.com/annotation-elantris-62-1/
  24. Can't see it. Looks like he has 3 fingers and a thumb
  25. I'm more concerned with wtf happened to his eye and his 5th finger.
