  1. I think it’s confirmed that Nazh is from Threnody.
  2. Okay I just read jofwu’s theory and I don’t hate it. But I still don’t see @coolsnow7’s point about this chapter screaming that Gavilar is the champion. Related note… is Gavilar is a Fused, whose body do we think he’ll take?
  3. Um what now?
  4. I love the juxtaposition of Shallan’s awkwardness in Plate vs Kaladin at the end of RoW almost instantly knowing how to use Plate on himself and summon it onto anyone else. I officially have no serious guesses in regards to the author of KoWaT.
  5. A thought just occurred to me… the Storm Striders. I have not thought about them since Oathbringer. Could they be Old God Spren, too?
  6. Yeah I love this idea and I’m fully on board. I’ve been trying to reconcile Stone Shamanism, Unkalaki gods of stone, and Ur together in my mind but it hasn’t felt correct. Ur felt specific to those mountains. It’s like there’s a spren of the North Wind and the East Wind and the Highstorm… A spren for each mountain range… these all imply cognitive/cultural aspects to them as Singers in different areas revered gods of their specific wind or mountain.
  7. *angry applause*
  8. It is certainly possible, but my assumption at the moment is that some (maybe all) of the Unmade were once Old Magic Spren and the Wind somehow avoided this fate. The Nightwatcher and Stormfather didn't even really avoid this as they were appropriated by Cultivation and Honor, respectively. I think the only other entity that we've met that avoided this would be Ur.
  9. Okay possibilities for the author of KoWaT… - Jasnah - Shallan - Sigzil - Zahel Anyone else? That death rattle realllly seems to be about Kaladin eh? Worried about Dalinar and the fate of the Cosmere… That’s 2 mentions of the Wind vanishing - what happens to her!? Where do the Heralds go? And lastly - Mishram depicted as a Singer is a very cool detail. edit: spelling
  10. With the release of chapters 3 and 4 and the revelation that there were pre-Shattering Old Magic Gods, notably the Wind and the Nightwatcher, I think it's likely that some or all of Unmade were Old Magic Gods. And I definitely think Mishram was an Old Magic God. As such, I do not think she was evil. She had previously been connected to the Singers - much like Ur, the voice that speaks to Venli in RoW. A couple millennia after Aharietiam with no real Desolations, she probably saw an opportunity to reconnect with the Singers. Then ensuing fighting and her imprisonment being an unforeseen consequence. My guess is that she has a loyalty to Singers, but not to the Fused and their war alongside Odium.
  11. Might need to add Ur to this list, the voice that spoke to Venli in RoW. It’s possible that the Sibling is the new form of Ur, corrupted by Honor/Cultivation. Also possible that it’s the same as the Stone God and/or Horneater Mountain God.
  12. This is precisely my thinking of the moment, and I’m glad to see mention of Ur! I’m not sure I buy that ALL the Unmade were pre-Shattering greatspren - if there are some like the Wind that remained uncorrupted, perhaps there are some that were fully created or brought by the Shards. Aligning the Old Gods with Aethers is a fun idea… Roseite = Ur/Sibling Zephyr = Wind Verdant = Nightwatcher Midnight = Re-Shephir Not sure how the others would fit… Crimson = Thrill? Sunlight = Mishram?
  13. Certainly not a coincidence. They go to Shinovar to cleanse the Shin and help Ishar, but I suspect that this dynamic will be the major plot line for them and they will revive the Wind or something. Both Szeth and Kal have strong relationships with the wind from an early age.
  14. Oathbringer Chapter 6 I feel like it had been collectively accepted that Syl was referring to Tien here. Perhaps she was actually referring to the Wind? The tapped crystal line also gives me vibes of spren trapped in gems. Is Mishram the Wind? Also, the Wind regaining her voice when Odium's vessel changed - is this because of something that Rayse was actively doing and Taravangian has not continued? Or is it possibly an effect of the new vessel being Connected to Roshar and its tones? Last thoughts, on the Old Gods of Roshar we have the Wind, mostly replaced by Stormfather we have the Nightwatcher, coopted by Cultivation would these gods include Ur? the being that Venli spoke to while discovering her stoneshaping abilities? Is Ur connected to or replaced by the Sibling? are some/all the Unmade previous Gods of Roshar? I am beyond excited for this book...
  15. Not a Shard reference, but something I noticed along similar lines...
  16. The Black Bear is associated with the Waelish. Maybe he’s supposed to represent some Celtic/Brythonic god?
  17. Fully willing to admit that I may be reading to much into this line that precedes Sigzil expecting the figure to be Kal. But there is a theory out there that Kaladin will merge with or become the Stormfather, possible Kal's Cog Shadow replacing that of Tanavast... Could this be a hint of that? Not sure if Kal becoming a cognitive shadow and merging with the stormfather is bad vibes or good vibes, but it's certainly something.
  18. I interpreted that differently [SP3 preview and SA5 prologue spoilers]
  19. Good point, we’ve seen Odium try to make Dalinar his champion in Oathbringer then push for Kaladin in Rhythm of War. Perhaps Shallan is the new target. Though it probably doesn’t make sense for T-Odium to continue R-Odium’s machinations.
  20. This is my favorite of the interpretations of the Stormfather’s weird behavior in the SA5 Prologue. Gavilar explicitly states that the entity seems like two different ones at times, which makes me think at this point the shadow and the spren were not so entwined. By the time Dalinar is having the visions, they are - either just due to time or on purpose as a new strategy. The Last Metal spoilers
  21. Truthwatchers. Shallan’s Truths. Szeth as Truthless. Entirely possible that the title refers to any or all of these.
  22. “He has made the decision of Honor” reminded me of this death rattle… So the night will reign, for the choice of honor is life... —Observed circa Ishi 1173 by Taravangian. Subject was King Valam of Jah Keved.[46]
  23. It feels clunky, but really won’t affect my enjoyment of the story. Kinda makes sense for Kal and Szeth’s buddy cop adventure in Shinovar.
