  1. So I won't be able to make it unfortunately. If someone doesn't have a question and wants one, I have one a few that I've been wondering about since Arcanum Unbounded. Not really spoilery, but it deals with info from the essays and Secret History:
  2. On the chronology, I remember Brandon saying that Elantris was set "hundreds but not thousands" of years before Mistborn or Warbreaker. Since Khriss wrote the essays after Scadrial's orbit moved, she wrote them at least 1000 years after the events of Elantris. I suppose that she didn't have to write all the essays at the same time, but I find it likely that she did, as she mentions Autonomy's current affairs, Odium's current whereabouts, etc. Whether or not Elantris is before White Sand is therefore irrelevant, as it seems much time must have passed since she left and wrote these anyway. She's thoroughly explored most of the planets she writes about, and that exploration alone would have taken years. On the three great empires, I agree with @Ookla the Insipid that there must be a third empire out there, an I came to that conclusion on reading the essays myself. If that much time has passed, things could very well have changed, but I agree that it's Opelon (whoever is in control these days), the Rose Empire, and one other. Given the location of the Ire being near Scadrial, they probably aren't surrounding the border of their subastral, because Roshar and Nalthis are in the way (looking at their locations in the star map), and since they aren't really a Selish local empire, and more an intergalactic organization with Selish origins, I conclude that there is probably another Empire as of yet unknown to us on another continent of Sel.
  3. Keep in mind that the orbits might not necessarily be to scale. That's my input for now.
  4. Let it be known that I'm so excited about the essays that I haven't even read Edgedancer yet (even though Stormlight is my favourite series). We got some lovely information from Khriss that clarifies so many old questions. I have a few main theories that I want to bring up, that I know some people have already tossed a few of these around, but well, I'm just so excited I needed to make my own thread. Sorry, not sorry. Selish Observations Scadrian Observations (Secret History spoilers as well as Arcanum Unbounded) Taldain Observations Threnodite Observations Drominad Observations I have to go for now, I'll continue later tonight with the Rosharan system, Silverlight, and some theories I've got about all this new info. Thanks for listening to my ramblings. Time to do a complete cosmere reread and hunt for clues.
  5. I was hoping mine would come yesterday. I always order them from Weller Books, and sometimes they've come a few days early. Oh well. Here's to hoping it'll be there when I get home in an hour and a half.
  6. Could be a giant spren-type? Like a sentient bit of Investiture that isn't really from a Shard, but from Adonalsium?
  7. Well, I'm honoured. I like your idea as well, I hadn't thought of that. I also wonder what Spook would think of Hoid...
  8. Mistborn: Secret History Spoilers in Mistborn Era 4, Hoid is mentioned to be a protagonist or a main character. My wild prediction is that good ole Kell will be working against him. Kell is probably now immortal, and they hate each other, so it just works. Also, Spook is Kell's sidekick.
  9. I might be going. It's the day before my 18th birthday and I live in the Interior of BC, so it'd be a bit of a drive through the mountains in winter, or a plane trip. So it depends on if I can travel over the border without being 18, and if I can justify the cost. But we'll see, I'd love do go if I get the opportunity.
  10. It gets Hoid, guys. I was impressed at that point.
  11. @Argel I remember a WoB that says that almost exactly. Gavilar was into some stuff, and would have known about that. Hoid was fishing to see if Dalinar knew the same terms, or if he were "clean".
  12. Endowment may have wanted to share the power to others, perhaps she thought Adonalsium wasn't being free enough with it. Also, HEADCANON ACCEPTED! Brandon has said that Adonalsium could have been shattered in different ways, and this supports that! Nice theory!
  13. I bet Ialai is pregnant, and in the back five books, little Sadeas will be grown up and be even more of a cremling than his dad. In that one little scene from Sadeas' POV, Ialai was thinking about the future all worryied (though that would make sense for anyone on that planet at the moment). It's hard to think about who will get a lot of screen time or not, so many things are happening to so many people. Adolin and his future troubles. Dalinar and his new role as Bondsmith. Szeth with his new acquisition. Kaladin and his Alethkar business and some Voidbringer killing. Shallan and her spy stuff. I feel like Szeth, Moash, Ialai, Eshonai, Jasnah, etc will likely be Interlude characters, with the focus on our main three.
  14. Also, Reckoners is not Cosmere, just an FYI (people get crazy if you ask if it is). Anything set on Earth or an Alternate Earth are not part of the Cosmere.
  15. Part of me kind of thinks it might be easier to have a board for each era, instead of all of them merged together. Has this been considered? Is it too late now?
  16. You inspire me... Time to pick up Wheel of Time, I think. That is my humble goal.
  17. Can we all take a moment to consider the implications of Kelsier still being around? He is now functionally immortal. For all we know, he will be in the final Mistborn Trilogy. (And since Hoid is supposed to be the protagonist...does that mean Kell will be the big bad?)
  18. Personally, my little prediction is that Roshar will be destroyed at the end of book 5. The next five will deal with the other planets in the Greater Roshar System. If Dalinar does survive that, and ascends to Honour, I doubt that would be the grande finale, though something like that is bound to happen, otherwise what else are they gonna do to Odium. If Hoid does have Dalinar in mind for the job, then I say we trust him. Also, to those wondering about how Dalinar would live to the final Mistborn Trilogy, I'm willing to bet that if he doesn't ascend to a Shard, Stormlight can be a route to immortality, in the same way that holding enough breath is. If someone managed to keep enough stormlight handy, I think they'd survive indefinitely. After all, the Heralds are still kicking around...
  19. A while back, people realized that "Balderdash" is an anagram for Shardblade, which is another gibberish word that Hoid brought up. I totally agree. I theorized once that Hoid wanted Dalinar to be that Vessel. People apparently didn't agree though.
  20. Going out on a limb here. We know that some forms of power take place all through the cosmere, and a lot of similiarities are present. For example: Bronze seeking, life sense, and heliodor fabrials are all ways of sensing types of Investiture. Perhaps Brass and Zinc have a similar counterpart like that elsewhere in the cosmere. Though, how Sigzil attained this power would of course still be a mystery.
  21. Unfortunately, Sigzil is not a worldhopper. That said, I suppose it is possible that he has been used by Hoid for something. Source.
  22. Well, if the man himself said so, it must be true.
  23. Very impressive snag! Definitely keep that in mind.
