It's time to talk about our thoughts for Stormlight 5, titled Wind and Truth, coming this December! Who's going to die??

This episode we have Eric (Chaos), David (Windrunner), Grace (thegatorgirl), and Verónica (Cheyenne Sedai).

Please note we recorded this last June, so newer things like the interlude or the new Shallan chapters aren't mentioned here. But I hope if you read those, you get a kick out of some of our comments :)

Well, considering the Skybreaker 5th ideal is essentially "I am the Law!". . .

Y’all seriously think the Spren of Honor, the closest thing the world has to the shard Honor is a liar? We know from Syl that honor Spren dislike lying and the Stormfather is even more a stickler than Syl. I think it’s just Ishtar using the same power that Dalinar used to try to kick start his project to get the heralds a way out of the system.

Kaladin becomes protection with a 5th ideal, and just turns into a giant shard condom 🤣

 

Great episode, very fun hearing thoughts on the Iriali exodus well before we learned it was going to be a thing. Good work as always shardcast team

Yeah, I'm now basically fully convinced either Pattern or Testament is going to die...

Also, if either Kaladin or Syl had to die, I think it would be Kaladin, because then we could have Syl bond a new character in the back half, and we get to see her grieving process a little more, but also how she pushes forward. And maybe whoever she bonds will help her with that.

We've all heard the old grizzled Kaladin mentor theory, but what about the old grizzled Sylphrena mentor? That's what I think would be cool.

If Kaladin dies and then Syl bonds Oroden im still going to be mad, but Brandon would get me with that.

He’s in part the Spren that existed before Honor died but he is also part cognitive shadow of the human that held Honor. The Spren part might not lie but the ghost part can. 

in the prologue he says “When I decided to seek a person to bond” and Gavilar calls him on it “I thought were ordered to” and stormfather basically says it’s complicated. He’s both the Spren who received the order and the ghost of the guy that gave the order.

I think that’s just Ishar getting caught in a lie. I think it’s Ishar using bond smith stuff to connect with Gavilar
