The Splintercast Reads Bands of Mourning, Episode 5: Chapters 10-12
Khyrindor commented on FeatherWriter's article in Shardcast
THIS IS A DISCIPLINARY HUG. DO NOT DERIVE ENJOYMENT FROM IT. lol He is now certain that the beggar was more than he appeared. OH IF ONLY YOU KNEW, WAX. It's ok, Feather. I thought she was Jasnah at first. Then Vathi. Then Khriss.- 7 comments

When Shards Invest in something, it is harder for them to move. Secret History touches on this. Harmony is heavily Invested in Scadrial, so He can't move away from it. Odium used to travel around and Splinter Shards, until the Oathpact presumably forced him to Invest on Braize. Now he is stuck there.

Darkeyes don't have solid black eyes though. They just aren't bright colors like the Lighteyes. Anyone with dark brown, or even deep blue here would be classified as Darkeyes on Roshar. Lighteyes are descendants from the Radiants of old, and the bloodlines keep the eyes light. When you become a Radiant, your eyes turn light, like Kaladin. It just means that you are Invested with Honor's power. Darkeyes just have a lack of that. If they were Invested by Odium, they would probably have eyes similar to the Parshendi when they adopted Stormform.

I definitely agree that most of the systems were possible under Adonalsium, but since we have seen Hoid in the books with a coppermind, he definitely has access. It's possible that they had it pre-Ascension.
-
I haven't seen that before. Was it a recent one?

Guys, guys. It isn't that bad. Look how many novels we've had in just ten years! Elantris, Mistborn, WoA, HoA, Warbreaker, WoK, WoR, AoL, SoS, BoM, Rithmatist, Steelheart, Firefight, Calamity. Add to that the three huge Wheel of Time books. And nine or ten short stories/novellas. I know Stormlight is everyone's favorite, it's mine too, but appreciate the fact that Brandon is a fast, young writer who will be writing for another 40 years. If he does this many books each decade, that's almost another 50 novels!

I seem to remember a WoB that stated that the pre-ascension tech was railroadish level. So it's possible they knew of it as well. And, if anyone could figure it out, I'd expect Hoid to. Besides, he isn't Terris, and he doesn't use Hemalurgy, so what other way could he use feruchemy?

How Many Metals and What Do They Do
Khyrindor replied to Master Elodin's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Relevant WoBs: Source. My belief on the matter is that It goes like this: 16 basic metals + 16 atium alloys + 16 lerasium alloys + 16 Harmonium alloys + 3 God Metals = 67 Those are only metals that are natural to Scadrial. If you wanted to, I think you could add a God Metal for each Shard, and their alloys. 14 * 16 + 14 = 238 238 + original 67 = 305 Now, the only reason we have three natural to Scadrial is becuase of Harmony. I highly doubt combining each Shard's God Metal with others creates another alloy unless they combined like Harmony did, but I suppose it's possible. There was a recent thread on Atium-alloys which theorized that it switched Internally to Externally, as malatium does with gold, however, if this is the case, there are some duplicates, so I doubt it is as simple as you say. The WoBs I cited above are outdated, as I get 67 instead of 50ish.- 13 replies

We know from a WoB (#2) That Hoid uses feruchemy to know when important events take place. Emphasis mine. Part of it will show up in later books. What has recently been revealed? The Southern Scadrians' unkeyed metalminds that grant anyone the powers. We know that Hoid is not of Terris descent, so how else would he have feruchemy? He just uses the tech from South Scadrial. We saw Hoid in Bands of Mourning throw Wax that coppermind for some reason, which led Wax to realize that Kelsier was impersonating the Lord Ruler, so we know that Hoid has knowledge at the very least of these unkeyed metalminds. Apologies if this has been mentioned before. I just made the connection and wanted to know what you all thought.

The Splintercast Reads Bands of Mourning, Episode 2: Chapters 1-3
Khyrindor commented on FeatherWriter's article in Shardcast
I grin every time you mention the Steris Defence Club! Is hilarious how you don't even buy into the happy beginning. "THEY'RE SO CUTE YOU GUYS. I'M SO... I'M SO UPSET." "SHE'S SO CUTE. STOP IT!" This is a rollercoaster. "Brandon! What did I say!?!" hehe "My daughter doesn't love herself, you guys! I'm really mad!" lol "Subcontinence" "Go write fanfic, Wayne, kay? Settle down. Chill." "Ooh, he's got Breeze's hands?!? Eww!" "Well, now we know what the Band's of Mourning are." hehe Markarth really was messed up. I had to go back there one day after that sequence and had to kill all of the guards because they wouldn't stop. Thanks for these- 4 comments

Szeth weild's Jezrien's Honorblade. In WoR* Prologue, Jasnah passed two of the Herald's in a hall, bearing Nalan's and Kalak's description, and Kalak said that Szeth carried His Lord's own blade.

The leftover things you noticed are probably from Adonalsium Himself. We know that there are some spren from Him so that mean's he Invested and originally created the planet.

Official caught up on everything!

I don't actually think that's totally bad. I think it makes the reveal even more epic, personally. -
Question about Allomantic Steel (see picture)
Khyrindor replied to Bryce Carmony's topic in Mistborn
I think it would depend on where you thought the line should go, and on how you viewed the object, and on how the object viewed itself. Very minor BoM spoiler: This shows that it depends on how you are thinking about an object. Now, I know that doesn't answer the question about the centre of mass and the ring, but consider the Cognitive Realm, and how objects appear there. Extremely minor SH spoiler: When you Push or Pull, you're connecting with the object's soul somehow, and you're likely just Pulling the entire object at once from one point. I think that it would stay oriented the same way unless something got in the way, or if you thought of a specific point and pushed there. On the chain mail question. You would be able to Push on each ring if you wanted to. Otherwise, the chain mail would view itself as a whole, and since you're not trying to change that, you'd Push on the whole thing. -
Well, Malatium is an atium-alloy, so I don't think you could have a natural misting of it, however, I think your theory has merit. Shallan's powers are a little different in soulcasting though. Instead of "plausibility," she has to convince. The two are related, but not totally the same.

I totally want Spook to show up again. He is my fave. Also, I suppose, according to Brandon's definition, Frost is not a worldhopper, though since he is in charge of an organization of such (presumably), I included him.
-
I believe there was a WoB saying a Drab could not worldhop. It might be the same for a regular skaa with no noble parentage.
-
I imagine it has to do with Intent. If you go into the pool with the Intent to switch to the Cognitive Realm, that's what will happen. Vin entered to Ascend, and that's what happened.

Thank you, Pechvarry
