  1. First, for clarification, it was actually a woman who stole got the book. Second, I considered being the one to post this (I almost did right there in class), but decided not to in order to prevent these kinds of reactions. Third, I was kind of in shock. He walked RIGHT PAST ME with the book under his arm. The thought to snatch it didn't occur until too late. And how was I supposed to know he would just give it to the person who "gasped the loudest"? Fourth, what makes you think I haven't already snatched an entire shipment of the book and have been silent about it for days now? MUWAUAHAHWHAHWAHWHAHAHWHAHAHW!!!!
  2. I may or may not have been wittness to this event... ...and caught a picture with my phone from across the room.
  3. Wasing the confused of this thread topic name. But I get it now. Edit: Okay, what in Hoid's name just happened. When I read the thread title, I legitimately saw and read the whole thing in High Imperial! After I posted, I saw it again and thought I was seeing different thread! I can't remember exactly how I saw it, but do do recall being very impressed by this imaginary eastern slang. Resume original post: The most I've ever been disappointed by a Brandon Sanderson book was how quickly I have finished them. Hence why I am so excited for WoR as it apparently could not physically have been longer.
  4. Seran caused quite the commotion when he suddenly dropped from the rafters and landed on a table in the middle of the tavern. No one had seen him for a couple days now, and he was so unobtrusive before that his sudden appearance was rather startling. "I too cast my vote for Cessie," he said in his characteristic, soft-spoken voice. "This madness has gone on long enough, and I intend to personally see this job finished." Sorry I've been decidedly non-present lately. At least my character is the type who just disappears for days without an explanation.
  5. So much for not hijacking the thread...I got mine as a Christmas present, but I believe here is where it was purchased.
  6. First, love you user name. Second, I like the spren symbiosis theory. It has a lot of precedence with the Greatshells. I guess we just don't know whether such is possible with Shinovar-native species, but its sounds reasonable to me.
  7. This thread degenerated quickly. The best character is Hoid, obviously.
  8. Actualy, I never said you had to post a boon in order to give a curse (as you can see, I did so myself about three posts in). I can see how you would misunderstand this, since your curse is now to always misinterpret rules just slightly. Unfortunatly for me, since your boon wasn't contingent on the rules, I find myself in need of some really good lotion, as my skin appears to be peeling off. P.S. Participating in forms is really hard when you have mysteriously lost the abillity to read.
  9. I had my roommate read this too me. By the way digitalbusker, you can now only speak backwards.
  10. I did a quick search for this and didn't find anything, but feel free to tell me if this has been done before. The questioned posed is thus: if you were to seek out the Old Magic, what boon would you ask of the Nightwatcher? You can keep your answer in-world or not as you desire. The caveat is that the next person to post after you has to tell you what curse you received to go with your boon. If there are no objections...I'll begin: After much internal debate, I would probably simply ask to be awesome.
  11. *Sigh* I wanted to be the first one to post in this thread when it came out, but I overslept somehow... I, for one, like the idea of Renarin actually reading, just because it increases the glimpse's significant by an order of magnitude.
  12. It likely just lets you see how a decision will ultimately affect you.
  13. Awesome! (Apologies to those poor souls who are filled with longing and envy at reading this conversation. I believe that they are recording the lectures and will be posting them at some point)
  14. Um, I've only been to one signing before, and showing up two hours early was plenty. Granted, it wasn't quite as anticipated, but I really hope I don't need to wait in line for three days! Some more knowledgeable please come instruct us newbs.
  15. B106 JFSB (Bottom floor, around the back). Yeah, its already started, but that's no reason not come anyway! It goes from 5:10 to 6:25 pm. See you there . (Look for the dork in the Mistborn hoodie).
  16. Actually, pretty much all you have to do for the normal class is show up for two hours on Thursday evening and get a free A. (If you actually manage to get into the writing groups, the workload goes up significantly, but those are storming hard to get into). He also lets anyone and everyone into the lecture, just get there early if you want a seat . Good luck on your writing! (I should get started on mine...)
  17. Reactions in order: 1. Welcome new person! 2. Ooo..Like your profile picture! 3. Hey, I goes to BYU too! See you at the signing! 4. Hee-hee, nice signature. If only I could up-vote you four times... (Did you know about/are you taking Sanderdon's writing class?)
  18. Welcome! Many blessings upon you and your household. I'd suggest you check out Mistborn next. Depending on how fast you read, it might keep you occupied till March 4th.
  19. It was surprisingly difficult to find decent pictures of giant metal spikes on Google. Strangely, I felt no guilt whatsoever for impaling this cat.
