Wanna have a race? I finished WoK in 5 days during a hiking trip (and no I wasn't reading while hiking). I was so sad because I didn't have anything to read on the drive back.

I think if it was more...solid? Not the right word. Like, more blended together, less individual wisps, then it would look less like rainbow-fire

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
Scriptorian replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Something like that, yes. Actually I thought of the question as I was thinking how well AonDor suited me, except that I can't draw a straight line to save my life, so it's out of the hope that I can cheat. -

Can Elantirans draw a functioning Aon digitally? As in, could an Aon made in Photoshop have an effect? -
Is the ending a Deus ex Machina? (spoilers, obv)
Scriptorian replied to Two McMillion's topic in Mistborn
As a semi-random side note, none of his "stand-alone novels" (at least the Cosmere ones) are really stand-alone. See Elantris. -
I too have noticed the increase in activity, and I joined just last September. I think part of the surgebind came with the Steelhunt and the Shardhunt.

"I flinched, when I should have scurried!" Collected on the third day of the week Palah of the month Shash of the year 1171, twenty-five seconds before death. Subject was an aged meerkat. Sample highly significant.

"What am I?" Shallan whispered. "I....am a SHARDBEARER!" The tenth beat of her heart sounded and the massive silver blade sprang into existence. "WOO-HOO!" She cried, lunging forward as she swung the shardblade downward, chopping the table in half and causing poor Jasnah to fall backward in her chair from shock. "Let's go eat some PEOPLE!" Shallan ran from the room, waving both her arms above her head, shardblade and all.

[Deleted Scene] Emperor's Soul Google Play ebook
Scriptorian replied to Swimmingly's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
This finally got me to buy the ebook. However it also reminded me why Brandon shouldn't write novellas. It took me under 2 hours to finish. The deleted scene is creepy... Go Hoid! -
Thanks for the feedback on the Elantris idea. I really like the idea of Dahkor sacrificing people to get more powers, and also the pm ability for Seons. (Maybe if a Dahkor ends up with a Seon its really a Skaze?) I though of a couple more things to make the game interesting. First, citizens can be taken by the Shoad and become an Elantrian (similar to Snapping). Second, all of the Aonic characters should have names with Aons in them. It also occurred to me to mentioned that I wasn't really planning on running a game myself, so feel free to shamelessly incorporate my ideas.

Words of radiance, desired we long time to read, too long time we desired the radiance of words.

Muwahhahhahahahah! Ahem. That is a very spoilery question if you've only read to page 65 of Mistborn. I'll just say that it involves not only the mistborn trilogy, but all of his adult fiction. Read the Hero of Ages and then it can be explained without ruining anything. Watch for a character named Hoid. Anyways, welcome! Just give in to that urge to keep reading, it will only get stronger. Also, no biggie, but for whatever reason these internet types consider it polite to simply edit and add to your previous post rather than posting twice in a row. Again, welcome!

I'd post a frowny face but I don't know how to do that on my phone. -
What do the links between Orders mean?
Scriptorian replied to Who Sharded?'s topic in Stormlight Archive
Could it have something to do with the oh-so-elusive foci for surgebinding? Each order shares a focus with three others? -

Ummm...Good, only imperial German does the best speaking ...what? Macht mir kein sinn. -
I already commented on Tor that it was quite foolish of them to reveals this to a fandom of Mistborn assassins. At least they were smart enough to not give the shipping details. I'll polish the spikes and get the Awakened rope. Where should we strike first?

I could be wrong, but it looks like a basic bevel effect to me. (You do mean the engraved ones right?) you just right click the layer, click blending options, and the bevel&emboss is one of the effects you can mess with. It could also be some mystical technique that I have no knowledge of.

Seran's just so sneaky no one knows what he's doing tonight. That, and my brain is to fried to role-play right now.

After about five seconds of contemplation, I had decided the glyph floating inside the gem was beyond my skill level, so kudos for giving it a try. The engraved do ones look pretty sweet.

I got an idea for a Sel game, but it still needs some development. The setting: Some city in Teod. The Dahkor have infiltrated the populace, with the intention of taken out key figures to soften the city for invasion. Word of this reaches King Raoden, so he sends a small group of Elantrians to root out the evil monks. The city, as a center of trade, attracts many other types as well that have gotten caught up in this mess. Practitioners of Chay-shan, and even Forgers can be found. Role ideas: Dahkor: The Mafia. Can collectively kill one citizen each night cycle. Gragdet: Leader of the Dahkor. In addition to the above, can target one citizen to see if they are an Elantrian in disguise. If they successfully target an Elantrian though, their disguise is dropped, letting everyone know who the Elantiran is. Elantrian: Not sure yet, perhaps an Inspector role, but I feel they should have something cooler. They are far from Elantris, so their powers are weakened. Maybe they have a set of powers to choose from, but can only use one per night. They use Aon Shao to disguise their appearance, so it isn't obvious that they are Elantrians, but the Gragdet can break this disguise. Chay-Shan Practitioner: Umm, maybe something like Pewter where they can survive one attack? Forger: This one is really killing me. It seems like they should be able to do something really cool, but I can't figure out what that is. Citizen: Average Joe. Any help in filling in these holes would be appreciated. I feel like this could be a really cool setting.
