  1. Along those same lines, what might happen if Shallan drew Stephen? That would be a very crowded portrait. Edit: Oops. Just pretend this Wob doesnt't exist...
  2. For a shardbow, perhaps one heartbeat to summon an arrow, and the arrow lasts ten heartbeats before turning to mist. That way the arrow doesnt just poof away when you fire it. Though it would have an interesting mechanic where calm people fire slower but longer ranged. If you aim right, you could take out whole ranks of soldiers in lliteraly heartbeats.
  3. Uh, Chicago?
  4. Newcago! I feel awkward with no one else guessing...
  5. Uhhhhh....Elendel?
  6. I don't suppose you meant nation, in which case, Alethela or Hanald?
  7. Up-vote for dual-shardblades!
  8. This is pretty much what I was talking about. It does kind of latch on to the theory that a Radiant creates their blade as part of their oaths, and the resulting blade is tailored to the particular Radiant. So I wasn't taking about two existing shardblades, but two blades that are intrinsically paired. Sorry if this wasn't clear. I was specifically trying to find a theoretical way to get around the WoB. Also, as I once said to Kurkistan:
  9. You're good! I feel stoopid at least every other post I make. And it is technically possible that Kaladin went back in time, worldhopped to Nalthis, got some breath, died, and then Returned as Vasher.
  10. Yay, people respond to my posts! I feel accepted... So Maxiumus, to summarize: both blades only disappear only when both are no longer being held, but if you drop one you better kill the other dude before releasing yours, or they'll be able to re-summon the pair. Works for me, and it does have some of a precedent in shardplate. Kaladin Stormrage...YES!
  11. That post was not there when I looked . Amians?
  12. I am Shardborn! Bearer of twin shardblades, consumer of Lerasium, wearer of an Awakened Mistcloak! I am Shardborn!

  13. Before anything else is said, yes I KNOW its been WoB'd to be possible, and that multiple blades have to be summoned separately. Sheesh... Source(s): (It seems every time I even mention multiple shardblades, everyone feels the need to quote these at me...) Anyway, I want to put forward the idea that it is theoretically possible to have "paired shardblades", such that they can be summoned at once. My reasons for this theory is simply for the potential awesomeness. Assuming that shardblades are bound to the bearer by "attaching" itself to a point in the person's Spiritweb, this would work by both blades attaching to the same point. Essentially, they would be Cognitively and Spiritually the same shardblade, but have two separate Physical aspects. This would also fit with the theory that a persons shardblade is unique/shaped to the original wielder (like Kaladin's hoped-for shardspear), where the shardbearer is awesome and likes fighting with two swords, so their shardblade forms as two blades made for dual-wielding. I don't think the WoB excludes this idea (I assume that its referencing someone just picking up two different shardblades), although it does make it unlikely for such a thing to exist in-world. Any thoughts on the idea, my Realmatics, or the practicality of fighting with two shardblades??? Thread-hijackers are welcome! (I assume dual-wielding swords never really occurred on Earth simply because if you had a free hand, it was more practical to use a shield instead. However, shardblades are an entirely different matter...) Also, here's hoping for that character who dual-wielded shardblades in proto-Wok makes it into the Stormlight Archive!
  14. Um, my first though is Feruchemical electrum, but I highly doubt she knew about that...Feruchemical aluminum mabye...probably not...uhhhhhh....The only potential anti-emotion feruchmical metals I can think of are all (supposedly) unknown. I do remember distinctly that Breeze Soothes Sazed in HoA, (when trying to make him less depressed) and I'm fairly certain it works, even if Sazed realizes what he's trying to do. My best guess is that Twindyl is just awesome that way.
  15. I'm going to scurry back down the tree (as apposed to going out on a limb), and say its just a coincidence. I'm pretty sure Returned and Radiants are almost completely different things, the "one who will destroy us", is probably Szeth, I believe that Warbreaker is established to take place before WoK...on top of the fact that Kalad's identity is explicitly confirmed: PS: You don't need to put spoiler tags in Cosmere Theories . Edit: There have been stranger things proposed. I guess he might be a Returned Kaladin...
  16. Also remember that Preservation hoped that people would figure out that the Mists were snapping people, and since the Mists were supposed to come only at night, it would be relatively easy for old/weak people to stay inside.
  17. ...I hereby rescind my correction then...Sorry, I'm not sure how I missed that .
  18. I can think of at least one example off the top of my head where a metal was spiked to different bindpoints and granted the same power. Zane had a steel spike with Allomantic steel in his chest, while Inquisitors have a steel spike through one eye giving them Allomantic steel. My understanding/hunch is that a spike of any metal (and with any stolen attribute), can be placed at any of the bindpoints, but with potentially different side-effects. For example, the Inquisitors spikes also gave them the ability to "see" with allomantic lines. So..I think its perfectly possible to get Allomantic pewter through an ear-spike, although its likely (though not necessarily discernible) that there is some other effect of spiking through the ear versus the shoulder. Note that I don't necessarily believe that Wax's ear-ring is granting him Allomantic pewter, but I think its possible. PS: Why is Hemalurgy so complicated???
  19. Since it's been released now... "I don’t talk to myself because I’m crazy.” “No?” “I do it because I’m awesome.”
  20. I could see Cumberbatch as a good Marsh, but, in my mind, he would be a PERFECT Lord Ruler.
  21. Ah, but you can buy vials of allomantic metals from http://store.brandonsanderson.com/. The atium, malatium, and electrum vials are fake, though. Through both movies I've watched recently (Caching Fire and Hobbit 2), I kept thinking how awesome Mistborn would be on the big screen. When you can't read "normal" fantasy because the magic systems are too dumb.
  22. Just thought I'd mention that in my dream last night, I was reading the second Mistborn trilogy. It was awesome . Anyway, in the "book" someone had made a bomb by alloying lerasium and atium. Clearly my dreams are prophetic and it should now be taken as canon that lerasium and atium together make explosives. (Although, the Ars Arcanum collectively referred to allomancers and feruchemists as "mages"...? ?)
  23. On the flip side of the OP, an Augur who is unaware that the stamp is changing their personality (like Shai's "escape stamp" ), would get rather confused if they burned gold and saw how they would be without the stamp.
