  1. In theory there should be exceptions, after all we have Renarin and Rlain relatively calm in the tower without suffering headaches or similar (although the issue of their Sprens is still a cause for debate)
  2. I would like to add that this also seems to be something quite close to the things that can be achieved with Spiritual‐Adhesion, metaphorically it can be argued that the Squires are those who Gravitate to the Radiants. We have also recently been given clues that these mnemonic abilities function more similarly to copper feruchemy. Shallan stores in her mind what she wants to draw until she has it captured, after that she "loses" much of the precision of what she had "memorized."
  3. Well, it seems I got it right that Bindsprens were Radiant Sprens, I just failed the Order (I thought they were particular to the Sibling's Bondsmith). Furthermore, they still fit well within my predictive scheme.
  4. I see 2 options: 1. Resonances (In the case of Windrunners: Squire Force) 2. Mixed surgers(In the case of Windrunners: Reverse Bond) In both cases it is not completely known in the other Orders.
  5. [Doubt] Exactly what do you mean?
  6. This comment from Navani about the Angersprens reminded me of the theory that the Unmade are simply lesser Sprens that Odium stuffed with his investiture. I want to accompany this with a hypothesis of my own. During the shattering all the investiture in the Cosmere aligned with some Shard, and this being the case. Could it be that the reason Tanavast and Koravellium decided to move to Roshar in particular was not because of the wide access to investiture, but rather because Roshar naturally aligned itself with the shards they both carried? This is obviously not absolute since until we are told otherwise, there is Autonomy investiture on Scadrial which he took advantage of to create his Avatar, despite the planet in theory being pure Preservation and Ruin investiture. Therefore, from the group of Sprens existing in the local cognitive fauna, they could have aligned themselves with other Intent. Could it be that a group of 9 Spren that, like the Angerspren, obeyed neither Honor nor Cultivation were the ones that Rayse chose to Undo (?). Sprens such as: Angerprens, Passionspren, etc.
  7. I still say that『Knights of Holy/Unholy Truth』was a great title. And it complies with the rules of ketek
  8. I had already said it in another post, the Radiant orders were very separated from each other, it is very likely that in all that time they never tried to use powers together.
  9. Sorry, when I read this I completely skipped the "Old" part of Old Gods. This is a topic that I find fascinating and I honestly thought that in the spoilers forum it wouldn't have the interactions it deserves since these are not topics that are being touched on in the previews.
  10. During the course of the day I was rereading the progress of chapter 16, 17 and 18. I think I have found a possible solution regarding the title issue. I'm going to assume that "UNITE THEM" is the key to accessing the Honor Shard, so for this post I'm going to rule out shard fusion interpretations. A review of the information we have: Sanderson had hinted that Honor's power is fragmented Cultivation in these books tells us that their "core" is still there for the taking. And that core is the energy and substance of the visions he had at the beginning of his journey. It also ends up confirming that the Sprens (it is understood that the Radiants) were there before and were not created by a splintering of Honor. Before we get back to this, I'd like to point out something we learn in the second interlude, the true nature of a Shard's 'Intent'. The Shards feel all the interpretations of their concept and how they see themselves produced by the beings of the Cosmere, so let's think for a moment about what this would be like... feeling for the user of the Honor shard. The truth would not be very different from what Dalinar experienced during his visions, only instead of having one vision at a time, he has them all at the same time. I think you can see what my proposal is, the visions are in themselves fragments of Honor and they are generating a "space" and a "time" in the spiritual realm, where the true nature of the Shards resides. But the spiritual realm has no space or time so the visions are in a kind of testing mode. Dalinar and all his predecessors have seen them as a metaphorical puzzle when in reality it is a literal puzzle. The answer is to reproduce all the visions AT THE SAME TIME as is the true nature of the spiritual realm. UNITE THEM.
  11. This question came to me when I read a similar question on this forum. During Shadow of Self, Wax has a meeting with his grandmother and during the course of their meeting, he has vivid memories of his youth. He infers that she did something to the tea they drink, but after all, this is a place full of Feruchemists. Couldn't it be an ability resulting from tapping connection?
  12. I've been playing with the idea of "Kandra Dragons" for a while now, without explaining much about the name, it's basically based on the assumption that if a Kandra reached 5th ideal, it could do without its spikes. And in a larger time frame, if enough time passes for the Mistwraiths to adjust to the ecology of Roshar, they might well acquire a Nahel like the eels or the Rishadium.
  13. I just checked it out and while Coppermind claims this, the WoB it's based on doesn't make it clear. I don't think it's that simple since Sanderson said RAFO, I think it's probably one of the spiritual quadrant metals. Regarding the subject of Atium and Lerasium and their functioning in Hemalurgy, the question lies in the definitions. In this same WoB, the distinction is made between the three use cases: Lerasium: Abilities( Strength, Intelligence, etc.) Atium: Powers (Allomantic, Feruchemical, Sand Mastery) While the descriptions on the tables are in-world, if Atium could steal everything its description would most likely say "Can steal any attribute" instead of Power. What I do have to modify is the ability of Lerasium to replace Nicrosil. It's a very interesting idea and I like it. But the problem with it is that in that case the Chimeras would not be so similar to each other, they would be more of an amalgam than canids... that is the other option, if it turns out to be as you suggest, it is most likely that the Set was taking the haemalurgic attributes from dogs or similar animals.
  14. After a while I found a way to revisit this topic from another perspective, the hypothesis is the following: All divine metals can store multiple attributes (In an amount less than or equal to 8). I've been looking into this and there's a pattern: Atium can steal any power. This implies several things, first that it only steals powers (it can't steal strength for example) and beyond the fact that in theory it can store the 32 powers of the metal arts, it can only replace 8 of the 16 allomantically viable metals. Lerasium steals all abilities. This hypothetically implies that the metal seeks to preserve all non-supernatural attributes (strength, intelligence, etc.) at the same time. So in theory it can replace 8 of the allomantically viable metals (7 if we remove Aluminum). Curious note: This also implies that 'Kandra blessings' cannot be created with Atium. So, following this pattern, we can speculate that Bavadium could also replace approximately 8 metals from the table. The question here is which 8 and how that fits with the 2 haemalurgical properties that we know of this metal. Given the abilities that Paalm displays, Bavadium can replace Steel and Pewter, two metals from the Physical quadrant. Furthermore, given the characteristics of the Chimeras, could it also be physical properties that it steals? By replacing Iron and Tin. It would already be replacing 4 of the 16 metals, all from the Physical quadrant. Since divine metals act in a certain way in accordance with the intent of their associated Shard, could Bavadium seek to acquire physical/corporal properties? It makes sense given Patji's idiosyncrasies. In which case it could hemalurgically replace Gold as well [Hybrid Feruchemical Powers]. If we relax the description a bit, we could include the section on mental powers: Brass, Bronze. In this case, it would be the same amount as those replaced by Lerasium. Fun fact: Lerasium is still able to store 8 attributes even if we leave out Aluminum. Strength [Iron] Senses [Tin] Emotional Strength [Zinc] Intelligence [Copper] Fate [Chrome] Investiture [Nicrosil] Connection [Duralumin] Identity [Duralumin] Fun fact 2: The minimum optimal for creating a Steel Inquisitor is 8 Atium spikes and a Steel spike (like Linchpin).
  15. I posted a similar post a while back, you might be interested in checking it out. Regarding connections in particular, I have a couple of hypotheses, generally related to oaths. Parallel connections Opposite connections Vertical connections Offtopic: @LewsTherinTelescope, I believe this thread is completely spoiler-free for the Archive 5 preview. So I think it would be okay to move it to the general Archive board.
  16. I know that Sanderson was once asked in Spain if the intent resulting from the fusion of Honor and Odium would be Justice. And he replied that it was close, but not exactly that. The audio of that question was damaged and that is why it is not in the Arcanum, so you can say whether to take it into account or not. I trust the source quite a bit.
  17. I also interpreted it that way. And looking back on his case it wouldn't have changed much. Basically no one could have achieved what Dalinar did, not because he was a man or anything else (although I won't deny that Alethi society has problems with gender), but rather because he bonded with the Stormfather. That's the only spren who could achieve a cultural impact to create a religious and social schism. Whether it was Jasnah, Kaladin or whoever, at the time of their reveal they would most likely be branded as heretics by the Vorinists, in fact, I imagine many using the joke argument that Lift used during his presentation, accusing them of making deals with the Voidbinders or something like that.
  18. Given his behavior, wouldn't he be better off as Stoneward?
  19. I know it's a bit off topic but I always thought that if someone managed to burn Ettmetal or its alloy with Lerasium, that person would probably become a Feruchemist.
  20. Well, technically he would be the king if Dalinar and Navani die. In case it's just Dalinar then Navani remains as queen.
  21. For now I think they're going to show us exactly what's been said in the previews, the selection of the Heralds, the arrival to Roshar from Ashyn and the death of Honor. What things do I think we won't be able to see? The exact moment when the Heralds go from being "normal" humans to Heralds themselves and things about the past of the Stormfather himself.
  22. I interpreted that those hanging from his waist were locks
  23. Over time I began to consider the possibility that the Nahel could be viable to heal the Heralds, but since they are interconnected on a spiritual level I think it would be necessary for all 9 (no longer 10 due to Jezrien's death) to occur at the same time for any effect to occur.
  24. I'll be quick, Cultivation made a huge mistake by choosing Taravangian to replace Rayse as Odium's vessel. And even his training method was wrong. Now, what do I base this statement on? Well, on the following: At this point, what we know about Cultivation's plan is that he wanted to replace Odium's vessel with someone who understood his perspective, someone who was able to look at the long-term benefit. But he was wrong in enhancing the same problem of the shard but now with the vessel: Odium, the divine wrath of God but without the morality to contextualize it. Now Taravangian is added, a textbook Machiavellian mentally divorced from the feelings that could have restricted him. From my perspective, what Cultivation should have been looking for was a person who could recontextualize the extreme passions felt as a vessel for Odium. Someone like... Adolin. A person who is already aligned in that area (has been seen 3 times on stage near passionsprens) but does not have a need for control as Rayse and Taravangian did. Well, that's basically my point. Now it would be funny if everything we saw with the vessel change was just a halfway point in Cultivation's plans.
