  1. My username is the one I have on Spacebattles.com. I originally chose the name because I really wanted to participate in Quests, making my own opinion known instead of being just a regular silent Lurker. Then I found out I liked voicing my opinions and dicussing stuff I liked with people online via Forums and I just kept doing it. Then I heard about Mistborn from a Fic called 'Life Ore Death', got really interested in Mistborn then jumped headfirst into the rabbit hole that is the Cosmere and never looked back.
  2. So either way, I'm a servant of Odium? Damn what a plot twist. Anyway I myself did feel somewhat conflicted over Moash's actions, buuuut then he went down the 'I feel nothing and will make everyone suffer' route and my pity-well completely dried up. Plus unless he becomes a prisoner in Urithiru then he'll never have proper character development while being Odium's personal attack dog. Like an inverted Dalinar, he's just the worst right now. That's all I can say.
  3. Maybe the 'theme' that Investiture on Threnody is influenced by is 'Post-Mortem' stuff? Like metal on Scadrial? So even if Thenody was settled by an actual Shard there would still be Shades, just not like the ones we've seen so far. Edit: I was thinking about how the SR is a place made of 'Infinite Investiture' like how a Perpendicularity can fuel Surges and fill Polestones with Light. My theory is that just on a bigger and more subtle way.
  4. Well yeah, it's been 300 years since Era 1. If Sazed hadn't set up any scouting expeditions before The Lost Metal then Godhood would be wasted on him. Maybe he sent Paalm out over the centuries and eventually Trell decided to try to turn her against Sazed. It was said that Paalm did a lot of stuff for Harmony over the years.
  5. I'm more interested in what one might be able to do with these Rythms, as they are rudimentary ways of manipulating ambient Investiture. Perhaps by playing the Rythm of Harmony in the Mists will create Harmonium? Or maybe it would be a way to create 'stable' Harmonium, which would be less explodey.
  6. Which would mean that a Kandra has Worldhopped before and that explorations have been done before, and that Melaan is just an unreliable narrator.
  7. Just looked back at the scene in question and the Faceless Immortal pretty much says it word for word. Check it: So there we have it.
  8. Probably just Sazed trying to ease people into it by secretly sending an experienced Kandra scout first, knowing where is or isn't safe then sending out less experienced people to go explore and gain experience, maybe. This late in the game I don't think Brandon would make that kind of mistake. Unless he has in which case it'd be easy to retcon.
  9. This makes me think, what does a wound do? It bleeds. Cognitive Shadows can only form, as far as we know, when someone either has held a immense amount of Investiture or is Connected to something with an Immense amount of Investiture. But what if your Cognitive Aspect were to be constantly be bombarded with Investiture, what would happen? Here's my idea: The 'SR Wound' is bleeding Investiture, which is causing the Realms to become much closer together and is what is fueling the existence of the Shades and allowing them such freedom of action in the Physical Realm despite being, you know, Cognitive Shadows. This would also explain where the Investiture to make more Shades comes from. What do you think?
  10. I think that the Atium potentially returning may be a key part, but here's another factor: Southern Scadrial. The North and the South have made official contact for first time ever, the South have incredible technology but few Metalborn while the North have many Metalborn but have somewhat stagnated technologically. Them coming together in peaceful ways would result in Scadrial as a whole becoming incredibly developed extremely quickly which I'm assuming is what Trell doesn't want. Trell, or rather his 'Faceless Immortal' says stuff along the lines of "Scadrial's people have become too dangerous, so I'mma kill them all" at the end of BoM. This is likely in response to the North contacting the South.
  11. Oh yeah, the Southern Continent might actually be where the Ghostbloods are stationed on Scadrial. So Kelsier has quite a bit of influence over both the North as the Survivor, and in the South as the Sovereign. Perhaps he might dissuade the chance of Scadrial's first World War by coming out into the light and telling them all to stop trying to kill each other?
  12. And perhaps the fact that Raoden was born 'Closer to the Dor' might have been another factor. So overall if it weren't for Raoden doing a dumb kid thing, Elantris would have been screwed.
  13. When Raoden had a flashback to when he was young, he broke his leg and got an infection then went to Elantris to be healed. It as said he was dying at the time. He also seemed to see the Dor for what it was, looking past the Aon that healed him and see the storm of polarized Investiture that was trying to leak out through the Aon itself. Did Raoden, while young and near-death, briefly peer into the Cognitive Realm and see a glimpse of the Dor as it is? I say this because we have some proof that when you die or are nearly dead, you can see into the CR. There's a Death Rattle that may not actually be a Death Rattle that's about someone seeing a Cryptic in the Cognitive Realm as they were killed.
  14. Yes. He's come back from the dead due to being a Sliver of Preservation and presumably stapling his soul onto a body of some kind with Hemalurgy. He's also stuck on Scadrial due to how Cognitive Shadows work, though he is trying to find a way around this.
  15. Damnation, I can't believe I've been RAFO'ed for the first time. I can't wait to do it to others.
  16. I reckon that that might actually be the case. Think about it, Trell only started trying to destroy Scadrial once the Northen and Southern societies started to make contact. This is probably because if they came together they'd have the potential to speed up development and become far more advanced far more quickly, since the Malwish have advanced technology but very few Metalborn while the Basin has stagnated technologically but has many Metalborn. This would probably be bad for Trell's plans whatever they may be. And for the reason to not allow the hypothetical 'Southern Set' and the Northern Set to know about each other is to ensure that there would be zero interaction of any kind between the North and the South. Maybe since Trell can't be completely sure of everyone's loyalties, and it would only take a single person getting cold feet or greedy to screw it up and reveal to others who are not in the Set. So it would probably be simpler and easier for Trell to ensure this secret is kept by not letting anyone know. But of course, they failed and now they want to destroy Scadrial.
  17. So I have a theory. The Malwish have so far in chapter 9, been changing to be more unified and more aggressive to the Northeners, mostly from Wax's POV but I digress, I wonder if these rather rapid political decisions might be because of another group like the Set, just set (heh) up in the Southern Continent by Trell. After all Trell wouldn't be hindered by measly distance and would definitely want a way to influence the Malwish. And sure it might just be natural tensions rising, but I think that just as the Basin's politics are being influenced by the Set to go to war, so too are the Malwish. What do you think?
  18. I wasn't thinking about Elantris to be honest. I got the name 'Korlans' from mangling the word 'Flora'. In that case I suppose I could change it to 'Florans'. I just thought that would be a bit too bland.
  19. Perhaps this might be the key to distilling Godmetals from the Mists? It probably wouldn't be as simple as humming a particular Tone while standing in the Mists, but perhaps it would be a major component.
  20. I do think it would have been mentioned at some point in Warbreaker, so maybe there's never been someone who Returned while holding multiple Breaths, which seems unlikely. Or perhaps what you say is true and the Breaths are immediately subsumed into the Divine Breath. I suppose that this might be answered when the Warbreaker Sequel comes out in like 2030 or something.
  21. I think that Secret Project 3 may be after Mistborn Era 2. Since one of the societies there seems fairly modernish, they might even have instant noodles! Which I believe is an actual indicator of how advanced a society is, if they have it in SP 3 World then it means that it takes place after Mistborn Era 2, since Scadrial in Era 2 was described as 'the most technologically advanced planet in the Cosmere'. Which means that SP 3 must take place after Era 2. Does this make sense?
  22. So what you're saying is, my theory is sound in principle, we just need a Shard to make a Splinter with maybe 1-5% of their Investiture for it to be big enough to matter. Unless it would be possible for a smaller but still very powerful Splinter to Invest a region instead of an entire planet? Also Brandon has said that Shards have a finite amount of Investiture but it's so much that it's practically infinite from our point of view.
  23. I'd think that the incredibly smart and rational woman that is Khriss would know that there are other Pulsers and Sliders on Scadrial aside from the two who are currently fighting very dangerous criminals.
  24. Well doesn't this just open up a literally cosmic sized can of worms. This might even happen in the future of the Cosmere, with Shards eventually trying to spread beyond their Shardworlds so they don't get left behind by the Mortal's or something. Or maybe this might eventually be how Shards will war against each other, using Avatars/Splinters and Proxy Planets, kind of like how America and Russia used smaller nations in the Cold War to gain influence.
  25. So I just had a crazy thought that I'll probably turn into a Fanfic one day, could Endowment Smite someone then immediately Return them? And manipulate their Vision so that they'd see only what she wants them to see? I'm just thinking about if Endowment decides to get involved with the greater Cosmere, this could be one way to do it, with an army or a whole organization of Returned loyal to her, doing her bidding across the Cosmere. Of course, this probably won't happen but still, I think it's worth thinking about.
