  1. So if a Shard, for whatever reason, decided to split off a whole bunch of it's Investiture and made a powerful Splinter, then sent that Splinter to a world that doesn't have much or any magic, could the Splinter Invest enough into said world that it could become a 'Major Shard World'? With Magic on the level of Allomancy or something like that? Or is truly Investing an entire planet a job for a proper Shard?
  2. Let's say you're holding a thousand Breaths, then you do something stupid and get ded'ed. Then Endowment flips a coin or rolls a dice or whatever and decides to rez you. What happens to the Breaths you were holding? Do you still have it and thus won't die in a week or does it disappear?
  3. This is joke, I think. A big Loony joke that I absolutely enjoyed. Also, Taravangian didn't quite have Compassion, it more of a sliding scale of Logical Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence. If it was actually compassion then he would have tried to stop his own plans of causing mass death. He didn't. Edit: whoops, I misread. I thought you wrote compassion, not empathy. Though just to also say, Taravangian doesn't have the sliding scale anymore, he has both the Intellect he craved and the 'Passion' that was needed to Ascend.
  4. Or maybe it's Trell warning about Odium? What if Trell/Autonomy is acting against the new Odium and is doing all of this to deny TarOdium any easy access to the Metallic Arts, which are super-easy to use and transport off-world, and even produce if you're willing to violate human rights. What if Trell is trying to destroy Scadrial to save the Cosmere in a really twisted way? Crazy theory I know, but that's kind of all we have for now.
  5. Maybe it's just that in order to turn it off, you need to hit a switch which would be difficult if you threw it away from yourself.
  6. I don't think that this makes much sense. Khriss is someone who prefers not to get too involved in dangerous stuff like the Set. This woman seems involved, so it's probably not Khriss. I think this might be a possibility, as I too would like to see Shai again.
  7. Yep, though due to the Hemalurgic charge you can't fill it up quite as much as you would normally.
  8. Eh, I'm sure we'll be seeing full Mistborn again in Era 3, either by copies of the Bands of Mourning or by Harmony deciding to make more. Brandon did imply that Allomancy will be getting stronger in the future. Maybe Harmony will make Wax a Mistborn like he did with Spook? Unlikely I know but I think the possibility remains.
  9. I don't think that's how that metal works, I'm pretty sure it only absorbs 'loose' Investiture like Stormlight while it would be impossible for it to steal Surgebinding itself. What I mean is, I think that it can only steal the fuel, not the engine itself.
  10. Could you tattoo Aons that work onto someone? Like if you could figure out which Aon is a trigger or an off/on switch for other Aons, you might be able to tattoo an Aon Daa plus a few Aon Rao together on yours or someone else's hands, and so long as the tattooing was done by an Elantrian and you were in range of Elantris, you could shoot lasers out of your hand whenever you want! And it wouldn't just have to be lasers it could be anything! Like healing, Soulcasting, Lightweaving, anything you can imagine! AonDor powers without being an Elantrian! What do you think?
  11. My OCD couldn't take the amount of spelling errors, so I just had to fix them. Anyway, I'll have to disagree with you because of a few WOBs I found concerning Polestones: And I know that there's a few WOBs that help support my argument. I'll post the ones I find: Damn, I know that there's a WOB on how a gemstone can be infused with Investiture from any Perpendicularity, but I can't find it. So these'll have to do.
  12. Specific Rythms have shone to be able to affect Investiture, specifically the Lights, in a variety of ways. My question is would it be possible to affect he Mists of Scadrial as well? Perhaps using the right Rythms might make the Mists able to be stored in Gemstones? Or perhaps make it coalesce into Lerasium? Big leap in logic I know, but it has been confirmed that Rythms exist everywhere in the Cosmere and implied that Gemstones can store more types of Investiture than we've seen. Any thoughts?
  13. Pretty much. And anyone affected by it gains a red tinge to their eyes. And it also affects the creatures as well as humans. So giant bug monsters start going on blood rampages. I'm thinking that I might take some inspiration from the Infection from Hollow Knight.
  14. Thanks, I did come up with a joke one earlier that I probably won't be using: Growth-Shroom, it makes whoever eats it triple in size and strength. Mario-Stye. And yeah I did feel that the Corrupted ones would be more Mental in nature, and probably be addictive?
  15. You can if you want, I don't have the best picture on what Korlans are actually going to do or look like. Just that it's more physical and internal-ish than other Magic Systems. Glowing and Near-Weightlessness is the beginning. Still have 5 others to come up with, along with 7 Corrupted versions. And I am out of ideas for more. Go figure.
  16. I just saw what you said, looked at the huge thing I posted and went 'y'know, that guy might have the right idea'. So anyway, your world is pretty interesting, I think it really does personify just how crazy and dangerous that a god that is literally all about acting on whims might be to a planet.
  17. Agreed, I'll do a little editing. I don't want to drown anyone out by accident.
  18. Hey I already got one of deez on Creator Corner. Well I won't pass up a chance to talk about it. This is only some of what I have so far but this is the run down, still working on worldbuilding so I haven't worked on any actual characters yet.
  19. So in the Rythm of War, Navani and Raboniel manage to create a Light that is a mix of both Stormlight and Voidlight, creating Warlight. But what can it do? Is it only it's existence that is special or is there a practical use to it that we know of?
  20. I just had a question in my mind, how do Awakened objects see? Because the prologue of Warbreaker, with the little straw-doll moving around outside of Vasher's line of sight, proves that they have some ability to examine their surroundings. How do they do that? Then it came to me, Heightenings, Awakened Objects almost always possess enough Breath for at least the first Heightening which would give them access to Lifesense, so that's how Awakened Objects see the people around them. There's probably more to this though, considering that they can react to their non-living environment though that might be explained by the visualization of their Command. Though I'm guessing that Awakened Objects wouldn't get much use from Perfect Pitch or Perfect Colour Recognition, but I still think it's remarkable if this were true.
  21. So chances are she wouldn't be able to kill under some or even most circumstances. Also we just don't know jack about her. Aside from the basics.
  22. I recently had a brain wave, Preservation was unable to destroy anything due to his Shards Intent, could the same be for Cultivation? Could the reason for Cultivation to take such indirect actions for vengeance against Odium and also not simply having his Shard Splintered once Rayse died be because she is only able to Cultivate? Could she be only able to prune, not kill?
  23. Well if the new Odium is going to 'Save' all the people in the Cosmere, he'll need to do something about those other meddling gods. Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to take the Ghostbloods from Thaidikar. They would either be the easiest off-world group to recruit or one of the hardest. I can imagine most of the other Shards even believing the act, what with their godly bystander syndrome and all, they'd probably further justify not getting by saying something like 'Odium isn't Rayse now, so there's totally no reason to worry, now stop bothering me as I'm very busy burying my head in the sand'.
  24. This makes me wonder, if Odium is going to Invest into Roshar more, how will he be able to Splinter the other Shards? Will he use subtlety and proxies like Trell with the Set? Will he go after the Dawnshards? Will he attempt to form a Coalition of potentially likeminded Shards?
  25. SPOILERS FOR RYTHM OF WAR!!! So considering the fact that our heroes now have the capability to permanently kill the Fused, and the Shard of Odium is under new management, will Roshar's newest god create more Fused to make up for losses? Or is there perhaps a reason that Rayse didn't any new ones at any point after the first Fused.
