  1. I've read up to RoW and Mistborn Secret History. I just haven't seen this question come up. I know that Spren can't leave the planet they came into existence on and Stormlight faces similar difficulties, which limits Surgebinding to Roshar for now. I'm just curious if the Honorblades themselves can be taken out of the System.
  2. Interesting idea, I can almost imagine this becoming Scadrial's version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Question, does Sparchivist stand on two legs or on all fours? I'm imagining him being bipedal because it's just a cartoon. Another question: what would be your version of the pilot episode?
  3. Oh right Shardblades are a heck of a deterrent for CQC. Good point. I have no idea besides a stupid amount of practice and maybe a pinch of Divine Intervention. Also no idea, maybe they don't like getting Odium's attention with the Song of Prayer. Maybe they want to avoid humans getting any for fear that they might discover something. Some actually can't bring Voidlight-filled gems with them, like the pursuer when he teleports, or the Deepest Ones when they go through walls.
  4. Maybe Elsecalling isn't that precise? I dunno you got me on this one. The Fused try to avoid getting hurt, dodging often instead of taking advantage of their healing factor to get in close and deal some damage. I think that's more of a tactical choice on the Heavenly One's part more than a lack of ability. Imagine this: If you were a Heavenly One fighting a Windrunner, do you waste Voidlight trying to match their speed, or do you move at a slower speed with far more skill with no loss in Voidlight and make the Windrunner waste their Stormlight?
  5. Hmmm, I thought that was just because that was their 'Efficient' applications of their powers. You know, Leshwi said that the Fused have a precision with the Surges that Radiant's will never know, "What's better, to have multiple powers, or one wielded expertly?" The Nex-im aren't shown Elsecalling because how will that help them in a fight aside from escaping, which the Purserer, the only Nex-im we've really seen to my memory, seemed very unlikely to do? And some of the Fused have been shown to be reluctant to use the parts of their powers that use Voidlight, like healing themselves. Fom what I understand the Surges between the Radiants and the Fused aren't the things that are different, for the most part, it's the sheer difference in skill and finesse with them. Plus Odium probably tinkered with them a little bit to reduce the Investment requirement on his part or something.
  6. Feast your eyes The Nex-im have had several thousand more years of practice than Jasnah has, so I believe that they can. Also... The Fused have at least attempted to Worldhop, and Desolations tend to last years at the least if the True Desolation is anything to go by. So they would hve had plenty of time to try. They wouldn't bother with Worldhopping between Braize and Roshar since they knowthe Oathpact will keep them on Braize and Odium can send them to Roshar so there's no need to bother with that. Cognitive Shadows, which the Fused are, have difficulty leaving the System they originated from so they wouldn't be Worldhopping to, I dunno, Scadrial? By process of deduction and elimination, the Fused have at least attempted to Worldhop to Ashyn in the past. Why they would have tried to Worldhop to Ashyn isn't the question I'm answering, I'm answering the how and the when.
  7. Then again, the Keepers had no idea about it's existence, so that's a point against that theory. But Rashek could have just suppressed the knowledge as hard as he could. Or perhaps the Non-Feruchemists left over from Rashek's Ascension did not know everything about Feruchemy and some knowledge was lost that way. So maybe they did have electrum, maybe they didn't.
  8. These deductions are similar to the ones I've had as well. I'd assume they also had access to gold due it's prevalence in pretty much any culture or economy. So they'd likely have access to all the Physical and Mental metals as well as gold. Maybe electrum as well though that's just my guess. Yeah I can work with that. Thanks for your answers. I also have been wondering whether Atium was known before Rashek. But I guess it makes sense that it wasn't discovered, or at least wasn't a significant part of any culture or economy due to it's limited usefulness without Allomancy.
  9. So I'm doing a writing thing about the origins of Rashek as the Lord Ruler and I'm wondering about how many metals were known to have properties in Feruchemy back before Rashek Ascended and became the Sliver of Infinity? Because Feruchemy was the only widespread Magic System in Classical Scadrial and from what little we know they were in the middle of a kind of industrial revolution when the Deepness happened and Rashek screwed up the world.
  10. I think Endowment would be pretty alright, because I do like the thought of being a giving kind of god, and I could also smite people if they got too uppity. And since Brandon has said Shards can give people access to Magic Systems they didn't make: That means that I could, as Endowment, turn anyone I wanted into Allomancers, Elantrians, Surgebinders, Awakeners and more! Just a total win overall for a guy like me.
  11. This is stupidly cool. Here's what I got: Justquestin (yes that's what I typed in) Well that's pretty cool. I can do everything Marasi could do and I can sleep whenever I want. It's not flashy or powerful but it has it's perks.
  12. The Spren of Roshar are, as far as we know, unable to leave Roshar, which makes Surgebinding limited to Roshar. But is it the same for Honorblades?
  13. And just like that, gaining the Tenth Heightening won't necessarily require getting tens of thousands of people to be Drab for the rest of their lives. Probably.
  14. Hey, so I was just trekking through the Arcanum and stumbled upon this little nugget of info: HUZZAH!!!
  15. Stormlight and Breaths have similarities, but they aren't the same. Stormlight is ambient Investiture that flows around everywhere while Breath sticks to the soul and originates from a person's soul at birth. You can be born with one just as one can be born with Allomancy, so I'm not quite following your logic with it. You can store a Divine Breath into a Nicrosilmind, which you could theoretically compound. So technically you could store a type of Breath and compound it, but I guess you can't store regular Breaths? I dunno it just doesn't quite make sense to me.
  16. I was just trying to point out that Shards can recreate other Magic Systems without the Investiture of other Shards. No idea on the specifics of what Nicrosil Compounding would do exactly but there's two main possibilities in my eyes that are based on how Copper Compounding works with memories. 1) C-Copper improves the quality of a memory, reducing fuzziness and overall just giving you perfect memory. 2) C-Copper duplicates a memory, so you could store the 'New' memory back into a Coppermind to keep it fresh, while keeping the old one in your mind to review it. So with some extrapolation I'd personally conclude that possibility 1 would result in C-Nicrosil with a Breath would result in a bigger Breath, and 2 would result in a copy of the same Breath. It's just my personal theories though so feel free to take this with a grain of salt. Although if 1 is true, then you could create a regular Breath that would be equal or even greater than a Divine Breath. Which I think is both really cool and kind of funny.
  17. Here's an interesting WOB that might answer your question. From Dragonsteel 2022: So if Honor could make an Allomancer that could Burn metals, then I'd extrapolate that Preservation/Harmony could give people Breaths they could Awaken with. It'd probably be a little wonky though.
  18. You know, that reminds me of something Sazed said in TLM. He said that Trell/Autonomy was Investing into Scadrial and into Sazed, or rather the Shard Harmony, which means that this theory might not be too far off.
  19. I've been thinking about H-Copper, specifically it's ability to steal 'Intelligence, mental fortitude and memories'. This makes me want to ask a few questions about it. 1) What exactly would 'Intelligence' mean? Is it mental processing, learning speed or a combination of multiple traits? 2) How would Hemalurgic Decay affect Memories taken? Would it lower the number that you took or lower their clarity? 3) If you were also a Copper Ferring and implanted yourself with a copper spike, could you store the spiked memories into a Coppermind? Because if so you would be one hell of a detective. if you were okay with murdering suspects of course. Any thoughts?
  20. Maybe read up the new book (Edit: Sorry didn't realize) There is a person in that book with access to a thing that has something in common with SP1. I think. Is that general enough or is it too much?
  21. They might. But not all tech is equally developed. They might not discover it by Era 3 due to having no need of it. Nukes were invented in our world due to a second World War, but Scadrial hasn't even had one yet. So the circumstances that would encourage the creation of such a weapon, especially since they already have a similar thing, wouldn't be the same. Still they might invent regular nukes or they might not. We'll just have to see.
  22. The Fused who have the Surge of Transportation, They might be able to make it if they aren't bound to the planet Roshar but the Rosharan System.
  23. Okay, you seem to be smarter than me so I'll believe it. Plus neither Harmony nor Autonomy knew everything about how the bomb would work, so chances are that it was just guesswork. So maybe Trell will come back in Era 3 to take advantage of the Cold War tensions to try and ignite that instead.
  24. Hmm, interesting dilemma here. I'm gonna list out the pros for both in my own opinion. Not cons cause I can't really think of any. Fullborn (+ Hemalurgy) Pros 1) Far more accessible power source, just need regular metals. 2) Semi-Immortality if consistent access to Atium is possible. 3) Unsealed Metalminds and such could prove incredibly useful for building a power base and a gathering of loyal followers. 4) Not bound to any particular world. Plus it would be theoretically possible to make your own Perpendicularity by storing a stupid amount of Investiture in a very large metalmind. 5) Hemalurgy makes it possible to acquire even more powers. 'Full' Radiant (Assuming it's just one person with 5 or more Honorblades) Pros 1) More esoteric abilities that the Metallic Arts couldn't replicate, such as Soulcasting, Lightweaving, the Lashings and other physics breaking powers. 2) The stupidly OP abilities of a freaking Bondsmith. Including, but nowhere near limited to, opening a Perpendicularity to recharge your powers whenever you want, could probably overcome the 'Planet-Bound' limit too come to think of it. Kind of breaks the scale entirely. 3) Awesome Magic Swords, nuff said. That's all I can think of, though one big disadvantage is that a Full Radiant wouldn't really have any obvious ways of becoming Ageless. My choice would depend on whether I'd be able to gather a consistent supply of Atium, because if I could I'd go Immortal God Emperor. If not though I'd pick Full Radiant just because of the sheer versatility of it. Plus Bondsmith is too OP, please don't nerf.
  25. The Malwish have Trellium? Where was that said? That doesn't make much sense to me but I guess it does equalize the arms race now. I'm going to guess that it was Kelsier's doing, giving some Trellium to the Malwish and telling them how to use it to cause this exact situation, a Cold War where both sides will be developing technology at a rapid rate in order to keep the advantage. Which is exactly what Kelsier wants. No actual war so long as he's careful and accelerated technological development for the whole of Scadrial. A rather daring plan.
