  1. I wonder if fusing enough 'Cousin Spren' like Windspren together would eventually result in an Honorspren?
  2. Pretty sure Aluminum boxes would be more effective in that regard. I wonder if you could use Raysium to absorb the 'Leakage' of Investiture, then you could just use a Nicrosil Spike on one Spren, put the spike in an Aluminum box with an opening for a Raysium rod, then attach the rod to another Gem containing a spren to transfer the Investiture from the box into the Gem. This could be a much more ethical way of doing his rather than relying upon Hemalurgy and Raysium. Something else I'm wondering is, if you fused enough Lesser Spren together into a single Spren, would that Subspren gain sentience like Radiant Spren?
  3. That makes more sense, though trying to find their Bindpoints would be pretty annoying. Especially for ones that move around a lot like Windspren. Oof, yeah. Definitely not something to use on ones that talk. Maybe Anti-Tones can be of use in this endeavour, by playing it you'd be repelling the Spren, so maybe this would work as a rough compressor, by playing two repelling Anti-Tones on both sides of a gem with two Spren you could cause them to compress into each other and merge. Or maybe use it to rip out the Investiture of one and feed it to another?
  4. Interesting, though how you would Spike them while they're stuck in a Gem I have no idea. Also wouldn't that steal their Connection as well? What would lacking a Connection do to a Spren? Probably nothing good but you might be able to move them off-world. Maybe try enclosing them in a very tight Aluminum or Silver box and compress them? Or we might need to follow Navani's footsteps and find a kind of Emulsifier? I'd say we might need a Bondsmith for this but I think that's too obvious an answer.
  5. I've been wondering something due to a few WOBs And there is one where Brandon says that Spren can be merged just like Sazed did with Harmony. Can't find it though. So this has made me think as to the possibilities this represents. You'd probably need something like trapping two Spren in a single large Gemstone and doing something with Tones and stuff? I dunno but I wonder on what this could do for Singers and Surgebinders. I feel like it'd be easiest to merge two Lesser Spren of the same type like Windspren together, then if you had a Singer Bond with it to take on Nimbleform, would that Form be upgraded? Not to mention on what might be possible if someone could merge two Radiant Spren from different Orders together.
  6. So it'd be mild, subtle boosts at the most, nothing big or flashy. It'd probably take the power of a Bondsmith to make anything big out of Subspren Bonds. Though that likely goes without saying. Perhaps a benefit would be that it'd be easier to bond with multiple Lesser Spren at once? Gravitationspren don't seem to mind sharing a Bond with Greatshells after all.
  7. Oh I thought I put the Spoiler thing up, guess not. So it's possible, but would probably require some external aid such as a Bondsmith or something.
  8. So what would happen if a human did actually Bond with a Lesser Spren? What could they do? It's quite clear that they wouldn't gain Surgebinding but perhaps they could gain some kind of lesser abilities? Like if someone bonded to a Windspren could they gain some kind of small-scale wind manipulation or perhaps they could gain the ability to sense the wind and 'see' everything around them without using their eyes? Or if someone managed to form a Bond to a Stormspren, could they gain the same Red Lightning Powers as a Stormform Regal? Or maybe they'd just gain the power to materialize a Lesser Spren as a Mini Shardblade? Shardknife?
  9. Could be that he was already a natural Coinshot, then got an A-Steel spike to double it up. Zane from Era 1 had a similar thing where his Steel Allomancy was doubled by a Spike and his Pushing skills impressed Vin by doing things like balancing himself on a single coin instead of needing three.
  10. Wouldn't a Shardarrow just pierce straight through anything like a hot knife through butter? If the target were heavily Invested then that could be a reasonable concern but most enemies aren't going to have enough Investiture for that.
  11. Chances are Ruin didn't care much for what powers were granted to his Inquisitors, he just wanted more Spikes in them to control them better. After all, the effects of Feruchemical Electrum were mostly unknown, so the Inquisitors wouldn't have thought to use it. Plus Ruin could have just physically stop them from ingesting Electrum.
  12. 5 minutes of Godhood? Uhhh firstly I might decide to just split a portion of the population to live in the Cognitive Realm, giving them the ability to grow food and stuff there too. Just so that if I screw the physical planet up, then not everyone will die. Secondly I'd try to figure out a more efficient way of blocking some of the suns heat, so as to not need Ashmounts. It wouldn't need to be perfect just good enough to last over a thousand years. Maybe a dust cloud, maybe just lift the Mists up a bit to make them Clouds or just make the environment very cloudy. Something simple like that so that I wouldn't have to change humanity too much. Thirdly I'd make sure everyone knew about ruin and knew to only write with metal. Just to limit Ruin's influence a little more. Fourthly I'd take the population of Terris and place them on a separate continent from everyone else in a more moral way of limiting the mixing of Allomancy with Feruchemy. Probably also give them some kind of 'Divine Mandate' to follow or something just to give them something to do. Fifthly I'd make some Lerasium on the Main Continent to give to kings and tempt them to my side, keeping a few beads in reserve and for my own experimentation. Sixthly I'd move the Well to near Ruin's Perpendicularity and hide the both of them. Seventhly I'd give myself proper immortality by maybe raising my own amount of Innate Investiture to match the Fifth Heightening? And that's about it. I'd probably lose the Well's power before number 5 but yeah, I'd just try to keep myself alive for the next 1000 years and become the God Emperor of Mankind on Scadrial then keep using the Well. Also figure out how to kill Ruin properly.
  13. For Feruchemists, the number of Hillbillys they'd be equal to is dependent on how long they have to store in their Metalminds. A Feruchemist with no time would probebly be equal to 2-3 Hillbillys, a Feruchemist with a day of preparation would probably be equal to several dozen Hillbillys.
  14. Fullborn, as long as you have metal then you take on all the Hilbillys in... uhhh... South Carolina?
  15. I don't think so, Harmony specifically says that it's something Wax did, not the circumstances allowing for it. His wording was fairly specific. It is an interesting idea though, Hemalurgy has been nerfed since Sazed prefers Preservation over Ruin, perhaps becoming Discord will allow some of Hemalurgy's former potency back?
  16. The Honorblades, Ishar's Blade grants access to a ridiculous amount of Investiture so it wouldn't matter if there was Stormlight around or not. Plus their abilities are much more esoteric than the Bands, and thus have more of my interest. Feruchemist, cause that's just really nice to have for daily life. Which I'd have as a bigger priority. Do you mean Shard as in Ascending? Because if so then heck yeah gimme Divinity. Elantrians are cool but I'd want the power to shape entire worlds on my whim. Plus if I don't like the Intent of the Shard then I could always just set up my own Magic System as best I can then Splinter the Shard in a way that doesn't cause huge problems and then abuse my new Magic System/s. Ehhhh, this is a toughie. I'd say the 5th Heightening just so that I can have Agelessness. 5th Oath Radiant would be cool and all but I think I'd prefer the choice to live as I want for as long as I want.
  17. Page 10 of the first prologue, Szeth breathes in Stormlight before he brings out his Honorblade. So yeah, it'd be pretty impossible for subtlety if you had to summon a 6-foot sword every time you wanted to use your powers.
  18. I was thinking of how Ruin's main way of destroying Scadrial was by forcing the Ashmounts to produce more ash. Though Rustlight is also pretty clever.
  19. I was thinking of this as Ashlight personally. Lordlight and Solelight sound awesome. Maybe Ambition's Light would be called something like Shadelight or Shadowlight?
  20. If we're talking about stupid amounts of speed then imagine a Slider/Steelrunner Twinborn. Sure it'd be expensive for the Bendalloy and difficult to store up a lot of speed. But with a Speed Bubble they could be more conservative with their Speed Stores. If the bubble was dilating time by a factor of 8 and they tapped 4x Speed then technically they would be moving 24 times faster from everyone else's perspective.
  21. I don't think so. Several Shards have been shown to be loath to get involved in the conflicts between other Shards. I don't think Autonomy is any different or else we'd have seen her interfering on Roshar by now. As far as I see it Autonomy was likely expecting Ruin's imprisonment to last indefinitely just as every other Shard currently expects Odium's imprisonment to not end just because they don't believe it will.
  22. I'd say that it'd probably do something similar to storing the artificial wakefulness of caffeine. That sounds about right to me anyway.
  23. Oh yeah, Magic Super Fuel is something anyone would want. I'd imagine that they'd follow the Lord Ruler's marketing stratagem, hoard most of it for themselves and sell small portions to whoever has the deepest pockets.
  24. I feel this is definitely a decent part as to why they want Stormlight. But there is more to it than that. They don't just want to have unlimited amounts of Pure Investiture for themselves to use, they also want to monopolize it. Control it's off-world flow. Use it to gain influence over other worldhopping groups. The mass production and distribution of Pure Investiture will change the Cosmere forever and whoever figures it out first will have the ability to influence that change to their liking.
  25. The '13th' Aether is White Sand. It's mentioned that 'Bone Spores' are a myth due to no one being certain whether it's white, black or white and black.
