This definitely leads credence to the theory I've seen poking around that Yolen had some sort of proto-feruchemy

I don't think whimsy is necessarily gonna be childlike as some people are thinking; I think it'll be a lot like powerful fey. You can please or displease it by a strange, even unknowable set of rules. It may grant you great power, or curse your bloodline. Not malicious necessarily, but certainly something to be wary of

I'm not convinced of this honestly. I have a feeling things will not go well for my boy Sazed eventually. We know that Harmony could be Discord, it was eve n mentioned in an epigraph at one point, and that feels like the kind of thing where if you introduce it you're gonna use it

Oh I noticed this line and wrote in my notes “what happened when my boy tried to storm?” I hadn’t considered that mateform might be different for lgbt people, I like this theory EDIT: Apparently this site changes f*ck to storm lol

I don’t think anything good ever comes from “this oppressed population has it better than this other oppressed population.” Things are rust for both skaa and dark eyes, sometimes in similar ways, sometimes in different

I don't think the unmade correlate to specific surges. The one that bonded with Amaram granted all of them, for example, so that seems off if it was tied to one specific

This is only tangentially related, but I'm a big fan of the theory that Sja-anat is gonne become a bondsmith spren based on stuff like her calling the Sibling her cousin

[RoW and Cosmere] The number of possible Lights
Stormtide_Leviathan replied to Ixthos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It doesn't work with specific terms, but I'm a fan of the term antivestiture -
Kaladin’s yellowish-red eyes...
Stormtide_Leviathan replied to Gloomspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Interesting. I haven't heard this theory before. It does make sense with how cognitive stuff works in the cosmere. I wonder if this would apply to the Blackthorn too -
You could rename Towerlight to be more descriptive of what it's like, and its new so the rename could easily catch on, but Towerlight isn't an inaccurate word; it just talks about the history of the light rather than the Intent

In the ars arcanum for rhythm of, specifically the stone shaping section, there was a mention of microkinesis. This is a magic we really haven't seen before to my knowledge (though brandon's mentioned it a few times in WoBs) so here's a place to talk about it! We really don't know much, other than that it allows you to manipulate atoms, so this will probably be a speculation thread mainly

SPOILERS MISTBORN: I could have sworn I remembered a WoB saying you could store Mist in a sphere, but I can't find that and coppermind doesn't say anything about it that I could find so maybe I'm misremembering (mistremembering?). I wonder if mist is roughly the same as stormlight though. I really want to see anti-godmetals. Does burning them produce a different effect for a mistborn? Can mistborn even burn them? Do you have to be an anti-mistborn? Can you alloy them with normal metals?

Who accepted Kaladin 4th ideal
Stormtide_Leviathan replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I was assuming Dalinar for Kaladin and either Cultivation or the Nightwatcher for Venli- 39 replies

[RoW and Cosmere] The number of possible Lights
Stormtide_Leviathan replied to Ixthos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I feel like we'll know a lot of these sooner rather than later. It seems like a very obvious next step to try a lot of these, some of which may even be tried in the next 10 days. I wouldn't be surprised if Brandon was willing to answer a lot of these at some point soon. Also, I'm wondering if Preservation's light is the same as the mist. (And don't forget about Harmony's light! Harmonium is distinct from lerasium + atium so I assume light would work the same) -
I don't personally ship it but I can guarantee there's very soon gonna be some Navani/Raboniel fics if there aren't already. EDIT: I lied I absolutely ship it
-
The book has three main fused characters- Raboniel, Leshwi, and the Pursuer. Raboniel, and Leshwi were both much more nuanced characters, and I think the Pursuer was a great counterbalance to them, a fused that we can unabashedly hate. And I really like the symbolism @Naerin mentioned, I hadn't considered that

for fun "Called It!" Thread [Support]
Stormtide_Leviathan replied to Child of Hodor's topic in Stormlight Archive
I was right that Rlain was gonna bond a corrupted Spren. I thought it was gonna be an honorspren but I still count that as a victory. I was right that Kel was Thaidikar. (I wasn't sure, but it was my leading theory) I was right that the critic was the Sibling and they would bond Navani. I was right that Restares was the High Judge, though i didn't expect them to be a HERALD! I was right that Taravangian was gonna take up Odium on his day of greatest compassion. (I wasn't sure it would be this book, but i was confidant of this so I feel victorious) Big things I was wrong about: I thought Kaladin wasn't gonna swear the fourth idea. I thought Shallan was gonna wake her deadeye, and Adolin wake maya and become an Edgedancer. Things I have no proof of but know will be true: There *will* be Navani/Raboniel fanfiction -

Siblings... sigh.
Stormtide_Leviathan replied to King Aragorn of Gondor's topic in General Discussion
I have a sibling into cosmere. Wonder if he's in here somewhere -
I feel responsible for this revival. Also, hi cult! I'm wondering if you can do weird things with lightweaving. You could do massive blinding flashes of light or sonic booms that would blind/deafen anyone nearby, except you can store that sense and be unaffected. And lightweaving is really useful on its own (especially since it comes with either healing or soulcasting), as is tin, so this could be a really useful combination

Fabrials and invested metals
Stormtide_Leviathan replied to soul stripper's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think fabrials are more flexible than metalminds, so if we're going purely by the magic itself probably those. They're way harder to bring offworld at the moment though -
@Koloss17 How do I join the tin cult?

He is totally pan, I’m so with you there. Exactly! Also his “I’m collecting all the magic systems” just feels like such a pan thing to do, don’t ask me why The only thing that holds me back from saying "yes, Hoid is absolutely pan" is that he's basically Sanderson's self insert (I say this with complete respect for Sanderson and love of Hoid) and Sanderson himself is straight, so I don't find it too likely it'll be canonized. But his archetype absolutely lends itself to pan, and as a headcanon I am fully here for it
