  1. Civilization is cyclical. You live on a planet where it collapsed multiple times in the past Seems rather natural and normal to me. I like that he uses different reasons why it happened.
  2. my name consists of 4 letters and I picked T, R, A and V. thats all there is too it. was even too lazy to press shift.
  3. First interaction. It was very similar to Charlie. His rambling gave it away quickly too. Knew is the wrong word here though. As you can not possibly know it. Heavily suspect is more like it.
  4. I already read the 2nd WoB you posted. Brandon talks about getting Stormlight from the gems. Hes not talking about getting it from the Shardplate. Radiants lack the ability to do that. In the WoB I posted he specifically says that Aluminium is preferred to protect Stormlight from getting sucked out of gems since the Shardplate itself would be vulnerable to getting leeched which would, by remote, cause the gems to drain. It is difficult to get the Stormlight from gems within Shardplate or Aluminium. It is difficult to get the Stormlight from gems while they power something. In this case, constantly fueling a Sharplate. It is not difficult to get the Stormlight from the Shardplate itself. If you want to keep the Shardplate supplied with Stormlight you need to empty the reserves you have, which would be the gems.
  5. Which is a plot device. Statistically there should the plenty of compounder twinborn. They are too powerful so Brandon does not let it happen. You can also leave the compounding out and take a regular Steelrunner. Wax, even in the book, only survived due to plot. If you were thinking of a way to kill him without plot armor hes not that hard of a kill. A-Pewter and F-Gold would also work very well vs Wayne.
  6. An ongoing war would also mean it is not safe to visit Roshar.
  7. Brandon said that its almost equally hard to get to the Investiture shielded by Shardplate or Aluminium. A Radiant can not suck the Stormlight out of a bag of gems that is inside the Shardplate (or shielded by Aluminium). https://wob.coppermind.net/events/182-stormlight-three-update-5/#e3864 A Larkin can suck Investiture from plate. As stated in thw WoB. Same as Nightblood and Leechers.
  8. Its what "Atium Mistings" can burn. Its not really Atium. Its Nalatium. So they should, in reality, be called Nalatium Mistings. Feruchemy is of both Perservation and Ruin. Which makes me tend to agree with the nation that an alloy/combination of both. We do not know what burning Atium does. Maybe if you burn both at the same time you become a Feruchemist instead of an Allomancer.
  9. Just found the WoB that explains it the best. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/509-youtube-spoiler-stream-5/#e15969 Brandon, for reasons yet unknown, made it necessary for all God Metals to be usable by everyone.
  10. Roshar. They can churn out way more capable soldiers since Harmony is very stringy about handing out Lerasium.. Roshar also has the advantage of a less restricted magic system since Honor is dead. And they have a functional and capable avatar of a shard.
  11. Cultivations Perpendicularity is still besieged and Honors is still unstable or does not exist at all. This would be the easiest explanation. Or someone got shattered Ambition style.
  12. No. I do not think he is faking it. The implications of the shadow following him and the implication of Ruin always having been stronger speaks for itself. Harmony is afraid of his own actions as he notices the influence of Ruin either becoming stronger or that it always was stronger. Meaning that every action, voluntary or not, will lead to more destruction. Sazed needs a 3rd shard or something else to offset this contradiction in him.
  13. Skipped a few of Waynes exchanges. Does not feel real or interesting to me. It is as you say. It became rather annoying because its either too forced or too frequent. Sometimes less is more. Brandon does a lot of interaction with fans. Which is great. Yet there is the big issue that he can end up doing too much fan service. I will not go into detail as its a sensitive topic for some. Stormlight Archives is also heavily affected by this and is one of my biggest gripes with it. About the cosmere connections. Well, other books were less blatant about it. Not that this is a huge issue. Its normal once a series progresses. This happened in Stormlight aswell. You see the story through the characters eyes and by that time the relevant characters have already conversed with gods and demi-gods. Showing the rest that goes on behind what normal people notice is just the next logical step and was to be expected. In the end, and I do not like admitting it, I only finished the book because I did not want to miss out on relevant cosmere information. The book itself will be one of the few that I will most likely not read another time. I read Mistborn about 5 times each already. Era 2 is definitely my least favourite series now. By a large margin.
  14. Wax just needs to be killed once. Which is fairly easy. Steel compounder and Wax has little to no chance. Wayne relies on rushing down enemies and outlasting them via healing. A gold compounder would completely destroy him. There is no need for any extra spikes or abilities. Set got hit hard by plot required stupidity.
  15. Whats the problem with Lerasiums effect being that it can also be burned by anyone? I really so no problem with this at all. Allomancy is of Preservation and he decides what can be allomantically burned. Lerasium can universally be burned while other metals can not. We already have the restriction of Mistings only being able to burn a certain kind of metal while Mistborn can burn all.
  16. Leechers work similar to Nightblood and Larkins. Larkins can suck investiture from Shardplate. I currently see no reason why it should not work. You can not get to the Stormlight gems within the plate or the already absordbed Stormlight. Unless it is fueled constantly from within the plate would disappear of lock up. Living Shardplate may be different, but in this regard I doubt it.
  17. Chromium makes this a rather one sided battle. Drained of Stormlight the Radiant would be a regular human and strengthwise Pewter gives any Mistborn the edge. Shardblades are the one thing that could make them win. 7/10 to 8/10 for the Mistborn. Give them Atium (or Electrum) and its 100/10.
  18. Kelsier, who has become extremely aware of what goes on in the cosmere, gets so easily played by Sazed. "He created Aitum, but not Lerasium. No explanation necessary." "Okay then." Hes not fully trusting his old friend anymore. Which would have been a way to write it off. So why is Kelsier buying this lie so easily. It really angered me. I get why Brandon does not want to have full Feruchemists and Mistborn make a return. With current knowledge they would abuse those powers massively. Then again, will all the spikes they gathered, and Harmony practically giving Wax a greenlight for using them, they could recreate Inquisitor like Allomancers and Feruchemists. After reading the Ars Arcanum I have to change this. I dislike that Brandon felt the need to break Hemalurgy so as not to make it too powerful. Next is that with Miles on their team before that the Set did not figure out compounding Gold would we a pretty sweat idea. Which makes me think compounding was a mistake. It has such a crazy potential that Brandon needs to restrict it by not letting characters have it. Same here. Compounding got broken for obvious reasons. Then again, chance of Twinborn compounders are way higher than what we get to see in the novel.
  19. This retcon makes less sense than simply saying everyone is able to use Lerasium and be done with it. Everyone can use Breaths too so why not that. A Lerasium/Nicrosil combination would also work better and you wouldn't have to deal with further problems like explaining what actual Atium does and so on. What I find weirdest is that Marsh went to quite a bit of og Atium and now is able to sustain himself on a bit of dust. Maybe its 99,999% electrum for of Atium.
  20. Ado create humans on Yolen then eventually winds up creating them on other planets too. Migration is not required at all and I even doubt it happened. Else each world would have some knowledge of Yolen/Realmatic Theory right of the bat. Which does not seem to be the case.
  21. Lightsong Wayne Vasher Raoden Kelsier Vin Six of the Dusk
  22. Its still in line with what @Karger said. All Spren based. Honorblade are fragments of Honor. Spren are fragments of the power of creation/Adonalsium/Honor. They are not so different if you think about it. Highstorms and Spren being there before the Shattering does not mean they do not belong to Honor as Honor was a part of Adonalsium. Technically all magic systems are the same at the bottom of it. For this particular Question I would say at least 4 different Magic Systems are used on Roshar. 1 for each Shard + the Old Magic.
  23. These WoB answers would be cooler if they referred to his Feruchemy being removed instead of his Allomancy. Anyways, according to that it should be possible to heal ANY damage to the Spiritweb and therefor abilities. Given enough Investiture and depending on how the person views themselve. In this case the person would need to view the Breath as a part of themselve. If you willingly gave your Breath away I doubt this can work. Once you do that your conscious decision will always override imo. That Breath is no longer a part of you. If it were stolen somehow I can see it working. Your Spirit would consider it still a part of you, no matter where it currently is (or if its destroyed).
  24. Its not about the amount of metal and how long it burns. Metal burning is only the key to the power. Its not converted into it. Purity of the metal, closeness to the Shard and also the purity of ones Allomantic Powers determine how much Power you can gain by burning. You do not go faster or slower through your metals this way. You are getting more power. TLRs regular use of Allomantic powers was so efficient that watered down Allomancers like Vin had to use Duralumin to mimic the strength of his power. TLR was 1:1 conversion where Vin was 10:1 or something. Like a gram of Pewter would burn for 10min for both TLR and Vin, but win would get 10x less Allomantic power for it.
  25. Being able to use them does not mean they are invested enough. Could they potentially be? I suppose.
