  1. You can hide your own Topics by clicking Moderation Actions at the top of the page, it's right below Reply to this Topic. Click it, a drop-down with option to Hide appears, click that, give a reason for hiding said topic (double-post or whatever) and that's it. As for hiding individual posts, look at the bottom of the post: Quote, Edit, Options. Click options and a drop-box with option to Hide will appear. You can't move your own Topics but you can easily ask the moderators to do it for you by clicking on the little grey flag icon that's there at the top of every post. Clicking it gives you a little window where you give your report (say "this belongs in so-and-so forum rather than this one" or that it contains spoilers for RoW or Dawnshard, etc). It's not just for reporting, you can also ask for topics in the wrong forum to be moved through those or ask other currently offline members' double-posted topics to be hidden. Mods prefer that you report these things and use this feature over tagging & pinging them individually.
  2. Elend is such a Bondsmith. Vin would be Dustbringer. Kelsier is Willshaper, he can also be a Bondsmith by sheer charisma. Wax Skybreaker, Wayne Lightweaver, Marasi Truthwatcher, Steris Elsecaller. Sazed, I think Edgedancer. Marsh would be Stoneward, I guess. TenSoon would be Skybreaker. Breeze could be Lightweaver, same with Ham & Allrianne. Clubs maybe Windrunner, possibly Stoneward. Spook could be a Windrunner too. Kelsier Bonding someone on Roshar would be hilarious, where's that fic? Wait... here you go: https://archiveofourown.org/works/20694752/chapters/49156421 Vivenna would also be Lightweaver, I think. Vasher would be like "go away, stupid spren, I'm done with this crem" probably to Truthwatcher spren. Siri would be Willshaper, I guess. Lightsong could be a Lightweaver. Raoden is also very Bondsmith. Sarene would be Elsecaller. Hrathen could be Elsecaller or Truthwatcher or Windrunner. Karata would've been a Windrunner. Galladon maybe Elsecaller. All of Raoden's former co-conspirators and Sarene's new allies in Arelon are Truthwatcher material. Kenton, I'm thinking Willshaper again. Khriss could've been an Elsecaller. Shai could be a Lightweaver, Elsecaller or Truthwatcher. Dusk could be an Elsecaller, so could Vathi in addition to Truthwatcher. Silence... err... Elsecaller, Willshaper, Stoneward.
  3. Welcome to the Shard! Seconding Mist, you can also join us on Discord for less structured, more natural chatting!
  4. He doesn't plan to write the in-world Way of Kings Same goes for other in-world texts like Shallan's or Navani's sketchbooks or other texts like the Listener Songs, fashion portfolios, other scholarly texts & diaries, which would be shown as they become relevant. I know the feeling though, I wished for Alendi's journals from the Final Empire.
  5. Maybe but I think it's just a popular fantasy/scifi archetype
  6. Welcome!
  7. Welcome to the Shard!
  8. Welcome to the Shard! Which Order of the Knights Radiant did you get in the official quiz?
  9. • We haven't seen Thaidakar yet, so we don't know if it's an alias or what • There are ways to overcome the Connection problem and Worldhop, we know this, though we don't know the particulars. A Metalmind that gives anyone who wears it the ability to tap it (by allowing them to use Investiture and the Investiture not being keyed to any specific individual, which we know is possible) is possible, and can be used by anyone • We don't know what power Mraize's Aviar has. Possibly Lifesense (he's displayed a sixth sense for detecting people) or mind detection blocker (they seem to be the most common on the Pantheon Isles, the Eelakin and the Homeisles; would be useful in the Cognitive Realm) • The holes in Shallan's memories... aren't self-inflicted but a result of past trauma, said trauma is connected to Ghostbloods in her past who were connected to the Davar family, so were the Skybreakers. We don't have the full picture yet. • the Bondsmith equivalent, since the Fused abilities seem similar to one Surge of a Radiant Order, either Tension or Adhesion. Adhesion or binding things seems much closer to Honor, so Adhesion might be the one that's missing • We don't know yet, not enough information, but we do have a few ideas that you can check out in the particular preview chapter thread as well as one topic in RoW lore & mechanics • As of now, Nale is the only known Radiant to have sworn the Fifth Ideal, but back before the Day of Recreance there were other Radiants who'd done the same. I'm assuming you meant to say Fifth Ideal not Fourth but if not, among our current cast, there's no Windrunner of Fourth Oath. Shallan is on her Fourth Truth. Jasnah is hinted to have spoken her Fourth Ideal in Oathbringer. • Perpendicularities, places where a Shard's power pools naturally and which allows one to travel between the Physical, Cognitive and Spiritual. • It has something to do with the Rhythms. It seems to utilize Lifespren. • The Stormfather is also prejudiced against humans because of the Recreance. He's prejudiced against the Singers because they have been on the opposite sides of a very long war • We don't know where he got that. He said it's not from Roshar or Nalthis. He said Nalthis is too young (which was interesting) and that Roshar might have it but the Highstorm caused crem deposits might also make it difficult to find as the entire landmass is geologically new • Nightblood could permanently kill a Fused. It seems in the Battle of Thaylen City, he permanently killed a Thunderclast. Nightblood and Vyre's knife? Hmm... Nightblood destroys across all three Realms and consumes everything, and Vyre's knife traps a Cognitive entity to prevent it from regaining a Physical form • We haven't had a Jasnah or Hoid PoV in RoW yet, so no confirmation only rumours as per Navani • Urithiru reacts to the Highstorm by manipulating its temperature and pressure, even while the Sibling is "sleeping", beyond that we don't know The Navani and Melishi predictions are quite popular, and yeah the metal could be Chromium (Allomantic ability of Leeching) or Nicrosil (Feruchemical ability of storing Investiture)
  10. The 10 thing is present across all the Rosharan system except Braize and Oathgate equivalent is how the Ashynites got to Roshar but Spren on Ashyn? I haven't seen that WoB. Hmm... I didn't mean a whole different thing, just a different system, after all "a Bondsmith bound the Surges", whatever that means.
  11. And you can! It's just that they don't have the tools to pick up your telepathic messages
  12. Granted, but as no one else has telepathy, you can effectively only send messages to yourself I wish for the ability to summon fashionable apparel
  13. I do hehe a lot but here I'm breaking the mold with a haha
  14. Hmm... maybe? Preservation did say something weird about a weapon he buried in Secret History. Lots of people thought he was just talking about the clues he'd buried but many people (including me) were/are suspicious of that line.
  15. I'm wondering about the painting magic thing in the Cosmere. The painting of the Battle of Twilight Falls that Lightsong sees and the painting that Kaladin sees from the Court of Gods in Shadesmar (assuming both are not the same painting, they still have the same painter according to Brandon) And on Reddit, Brandon said this about the mural Representing something in a painting Connects it to you, it seems. Pattern said something similar to Shallan regarding her drawings of people, in Oathbringer. They might all be working on the same principles.
  16. Moash stabbing Gavinor and Oroden in the face and remembering to double-tap was quite an ending
  17. Granted, you have a butterfly that's a rabid fan of the Star Wars prequels I wish for all abandoned stories I've read to be completed
  18. Did Supernatural  really just do that?

    1. Honorless

      Honorless

Actually, never mind, I'm not surprised at all

    2. Nathrangking

      Nathrangking

Yeah it did. Predictable in many ways.

  19. Hmm... was the tag up there supposed to be "Dilaf"?
  20. Welcome to the Shard
  21. Welcome to the Shard! Glad to have you here with us!
  22. Honestly, the moment the word "Command" was used for the Dawnshards, I immediately began wondering the same thing but then soon realized it's probably just that Command is probably fundamental to Investiture and the similarity to Awakening stems from that. Awakening does seem more... primal somehow than other Invested Arts. But one can't help but look at the Five Scholars and Nightblood suspiciously after this. Or maybe even the Cognitive Anomaly on the Nalthian starchart.
  23. If the Dawnshards were used to Shatter Adonalsium into pieces and create the 16 Shards, then it's entirely probable that the reason for Odium's success in Splintering multiple Shards is due to him having a Dawnshard. Honor's thoughts on defeating Odium seemed to go towards that direction as well. Maybe that's why Honor and Cultivation could stop him, because they had Dawnshard(s) too.
  24. With all the excitement regarding the revealing of the Dawnshards' nature, I completely forgot the things we were already told about them! Yes, one Dawnshard is different from the rest (Hoid's?), a Dawnshard known to Bind all things mortal or Void-ish (we have the Change Dawnshard, which might be associated with Cultivation, the Binding one or perhaps it is called Unity *wink* could be associated with Honor) and there were definitely mentions of multiple Dawnshards. Maybe Honor and Cultivation did in fact receive help to face Odium, who'd already taken down Devotion, Dominion and Ambition (assuming they didn't already have the Dawnshards in their possession). The Dawnshards might also be why there are so many outworlder refugees on Roshar: Ashynites (due to Ashyn's destruction possibly caused by Dawnshards), Iriali (who seem to know of Adonalsium), Siah and Dysian Aimians (the latter of whom are Cosmere-wide, with the Rosharan ones, aka Sleepless, defending a Dawnshard on Aimia): maybe the 4 groups possessed the 4 different Dawnshards?
