I have a fondness for both of the worlds. Both Scadrial and Roshar went through a lot, Rashek's Ascension and Catacendre/Ice Death were devastating on Scadrial, the Desolations were devastating on Roshar. Leras was awesome, Preservation and Ruin are awesome. I don't think I'm particularly attached to any of the Vessels of Roshar but their Shardic Intents are cool. The Heralds, Taln in particular suffered so much for the sake of Roshar. Scadrial's Earth analogue, and might be closer to home for you guys in similarities, but Roshar's that for me. So... Roshar it is.

Probably not, it's not the sand that's special, nor Autonomy's Investiture but the microorganisms, so if you can culture them and probably hack Connection with Taldain and fiddle with Spiritweb so you can do the temporary Bonds with them, you can do Sand Mastery too

Could a Kandra gain the abilities of an Aviar, eh? Interesting question, Sixth of the Dusk sequel suggests

Probably this, haha. I wouldn't abandon the whole series if I don't like the book, I'm invested in seeing how it all ends. Though it's possible that it makes Stormlight overall a less interesting series for me to follow, so I might put reading the next books on hold because of that, more likely I'd just be a bit apprehensive and dive in relatively soon regardless. If he messes up something massive or kicks off the hornet's nest in some manner... I might react but I'll probably still be here, if the downwards trend continues or seems symptomatic, then I'll abandon ship.

Could've been a Ghostblood infiltrator or defector who was found out by Mraize. I think that was a genuine Aviar, seemed to have a Connection with the Feruchemist. The bird felt like an Aviar in personality too, if that makes sense.

The French and English covers I like. The German covers are a disaster, when in Oathbringer was there a... what looks like a metal spaceship, in the middle of a sandy desert? Because apparently I missed that sequence! The rest of the German covers also look rather fantasy generic.

Although it's one of my most favourite Cosmere works, it does have a few shortcomings, yeah, it's rare to see a criticism of Emperor's Soul, so this was pretty refreshing!

Just missing Sixth of the Dusk! (Well, if you're counting Eleventh Metal then you're also missing a few other shorts: Hope of Elantris, Allomancer Jak. Oh and the Stormlight novellas. Complete the collection!)

Hmm... yeah there is a parallel there but I don't think it's anything too concrete. They both became cultural icons, heroes, larger than life, more symbol than man but it's not like that's too uncommon irl.

Preservation is still top choice for me from the old and the new Shardic Intents but I wouldn't say no to Whimsy... unless becoming it's Vessel literally scrambles my brain. Cultivation and Ambition are also near the top choices.
