  1. Huh, so it's kinda like Wonderwall. Okay so I gave it a try, it's a nice song and nope, hadn't heard it ever before.
  2. Well from what we've been told so far it seems that the Ashynite Bondsmith being referred to was none other than the Herald Ishar via a Dawnshard which could Bind all things. As for a Rosharan Singer Bondsmith helping the Ashynites flee, the Knights Radiant did not exist back then and the spren did not Bond Singers.
  3. Oh I'm very curious about Mercy... but seems like they'll be a mystery for a while, probably a character we'll approach from the other side rather than getting to see from their own side. Whimsy is probably going to be the kite one, or possibly Invention. I feel bad saying this but I'll be disappointed if it's Valor we see more of first rather than any of the others, but it is what it is.
  4. Thank you for the mental image

Okay, this was amazing, it's a Night Vale / His Dark Materials cross-over. Not very gay. Very atheistic (duh, it's His Dark Materials)

spoilers for those who're interested, content warning if you're like uber-religious or something

    Spoiler

One of the books had gay anti-theistic angels who at one point shanked men from the Magisterium (the church equivalent in the novel). This fic's into exploring that part of the worldbuilding. Also explores intersectionality, so if you're LGBT living in a homophobic society, this might come a little too close for comfort, but only a little, mostly the fic is very light and hilarious.

    Enjoy!

I didn't know those books had LGBTQ material in them . I thought it was an old one and thus wouldn't .....oh wow late 90s. I thought it was written in the 60s or earlier . Kek

  8. Hello and welcome to the Shard, Emily!
  9. Welcome to the Shard! I agree with the reading order already mentioned, just be careful when you're online so you don't get spoiled because people discuss his endings and big reveals a lot!

    Great work as always
  11. Yup! And unlike the case of Stormlight and Voidlight, Preservation and Ruin's Investiture did repel one another and annihilate one another upon contact! Wonder what that might imply...
  12. My thoughts exactly, lol
  13. Welcome to the Shard and happy holidays to you as well!
  14. Found this, if anyone's interested

  15. Welcome to the Shard!
  16. It felt like a death though
  17. Agnosticism isn't just about not being sure about the existence of god/s but also the nature of god. It's basically someone whose view can be summed up as "I'll find out when I'll find out, till then I'm going to go about my day". Cursing by the name of various assorted dieties is often simply a thing of habit.
  18. Not "heavily implied" but outright confirmed by the Fused that there are none among their numbers who have access to Adhesion. They say Adhesion is only of Honor but well... Odium can use Connection. So some here are wondering if Odium just didn't want to hand his forces the Surge so that they couldn't get away from under him.
  19. Oh damn, yeah, slipped my mind
  20. Excuse me as I use the oldest metaphors, only substituting light and darkness for Honor and Odium, to cut down on how much typing I would otherwise have to do. The books have been veering towards the necessity for a certain amount of Odium to get things done in some ways but it's also exploring why Honor has be so difficult and so demanding. So Moash redemption is a bit of a toss up at this moment, imo, but still generally veering towards: it's probably not going to happen. Oh and yeah, I do want a Moash redemption arc
  21. Well, the Free Will debate we should probably leave aside. As for Commands, we have biological drives too. But the Sibling is also stuck in a position (literally, they're an immobile fortress) where they can't escape the war that they do not want to participate in again. On the other hand, not participating would equal expecting sacrifices from others and not doing the same in return. The moral dilemma they face is the same as a human would face if they want to remain neutral in that conflict, but heightened. Nightblood is forced towards certain actions but does seem to be alive and capable of making decisions, he's just not very mature yet.

Everytime I see a cosplay of a mistcloak, I realize how impractical it really is irl, far from the cool image I had of it in my mind The reality of trying to fight in a cloak with giant tassels is basically: you'll die
  23. Mhm-hmm, my point being that being a created entity does not make an individual any less of a person. Honor's ethics were already in doubt with the god switch between human and Singers, the Heralds' Oathpact, how many Desolations the Rosharans had to go through while Honor and Cultivation effectively lied to them, he might not have been a bad dude, but he was clearly far from perfect
