Doesn't necessarily mean much. Brandon is totally willing to laugh at people as they connect the wrong dots, lol. (That makes him sound meaner than I intend to say.) Edit: in the audio, he sounds very reluctant when saying "yes", and gives off a vibe to me of "not what I mean" at "he did".

This one I found: This one I can't find, even trying several very vague terms, though I could be missing it. I'll do a bit more digging later.

theory Lights, Intents and physics
LewsTherinTelescope replied to KandraAllomancer's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I would note that, while it was in the tube, it was still described as Voidlight, and no change was mentioned. So I imagine it retained its Intent.- 47 replies

theory Lights, Intents and physics
LewsTherinTelescope replied to KandraAllomancer's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I mean, it's literally the exact same thing as Odium's tone, with some Spiritual nonsense added on top. Personally, I'm pretty sure its Intent is still just Odium. Keep in mind, it doesn't destroy everything Odious - it gets conducted by raysium just fine. However, the actual thing it is "made" of reacts with Voidlight and destroys it. No reason for it to be anything but Odium. Based on Phendorana dying, doesn't seem like a custom mix is needed. Also, going to agree with what others say: the fact ettmetal exists imo proves Ruin and Preservation are not each others' antis. It explodes, yes, but were it made of an Investiture-anti-Investiture pair, I doubt it would even need water to blow up. (Also, it would be really weird for Ruin and Preservation to have the same sound, but that's a gut feeling argument rather than evidence.)- 47 replies

Why Jasna doesn’t have squires?
LewsTherinTelescope replied to Blackwarder's topic in Cosmere Discussion
That's a good point about Ivory, his stance on those things might be part of how squiredom works. -
I mean, swearing the Ideals might be part of that process, at least if he plans to get Surges from it. I feel like his current bond is different enough he's not gonna get Surges without swearing proper Ideals. The thing is, according to Maya, the spren didn't expect to die. So they would still be around after to explain it then, unless they were planning to just refuse to ever talk. Honestly, I'm still unsure of what this is about too. Savantism, maybe? I believe we know a Nahel bond has some protections against it, but an Honorblade might not.

What causes the air to warp? [Discuss]
LewsTherinTelescope replied to AndrolGenhald's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I do think other planets might still have a small warping effect, as the Shards are present across the Cosmere. Then again, there's probably not Voidlight on those places, so idk, since it doesn't seem to destroy all Odious Investiture (see: raysium conducting it). -
Why Jasna doesn’t have squires?
LewsTherinTelescope replied to Blackwarder's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think it's probably a Jasnah thing. Jasnah doesn't seem to have a lot of personal bonds outside family, and most of her family members have already been claimed by a spren. I don't remember all that's necessary for squires, but I feel odds are it requires some kind of (probably nonmagic) bond. Edit: Wait, Skybreakers exist. Idk then. Probably her "I'm a bad teacher" thing means she hasn't been willing to take any, because she doesn't think she can teach them well enough. -
theory [Discussion] Deadeyes and Ba-Ado-Mishram
LewsTherinTelescope replied to Child of Hodor's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yep, this does seem to likely be the case. I've written up a theory on it here, if you're interested. -
Maya says that the spren and Radiants didn't expect the spren to go deadeye when they broke the bonds, which imo indicates that deadeyes weren't a thing before then (though there's other possibilities). I mean, there's Moelach and nightforms.

Foolishness? Lol. Can't think of a Shardic-sounding name, but the general idea of sort of rushing into binding things without thinking it through. Recklessness?

Something I'd note is this Ishar quote from 111 (emphasis mine): Odds are, this is just insanity. But what if it's not, and, just as the Heralds in the past shifted the burden onto Taln, Ishar recently shifted it onto himself? And since he did not go back to Braize, there was no longer anyone holding the Desolation back. In other words.... #BlameIshar Personally, I'm not fully convinced Taln can break. Partly due to probably not being sane enough to agree to bend, but also partly due to Intent madness. While I don't think the Intents of the Heralds are exactly their Divine Attributes, I think the latter give a strong hint to the former. And Taln's are Dependable and Resourceful. What happens when someone goes insane along those sorts of lines, taking them to the very most extreme?

While I don't expect it to be particularly important, I've gathered the difference in Hoid's two conversations with Todd in the epilogue just in case: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: The other differences are not part of the dialogue, just Hoid noticing things being wrong. These should be all the dialogue differences, as Todd says the same things both times (with the obvious exception). (Apologies if someone already did this and I missed it.)

The quote is: Separated from virtues and context isn't really "righteous", but more the opposite, I'd say.
-
I mean, we have no idea when the "true traitors" did their true traitoring, could be it happened after Nikli was Separated. I mean, we don't even know how many there are (could be two or could be three), if they were working together or separately (so one could have gone traitor centuries before the other(s) or have different goals), why they're considered traitors, etc.

The only way the deal makes sense
LewsTherinTelescope replied to Awakened Cremling's topic in Stormlight Archive
This has not been confirmed. Brandon has said he will not say what Heightening she is. Nah, she didn't, as far as I can tell. Perfect lifesense is a trait of the Fourth Heightening. But none of the Heightening effects are exclusive to their level, that's merely where they hit their max. Even a single Breath will increase your color perception, your pitch detection, your lifesense, your intuition with Commands, etc. We have a WoB on this, what you said is right on the mark: -
Honor never said they were corrupted. It was a common theory they were corrupted into the Unmade, but there was never much of a hint one way or the other about that. As for the plural, imo, he's just saying "in the past, the way we as mere mortals took down a god was with the Dawnshards, I have no storming clue how you'll manage that without them". Might just mean Hoid, since he's a former Dawnshard. On the post as a whole, here's a WoB that could support either side and I'm not really sure which, so I'll just leave it here:

Rysn's Relevance to the wider Cosmere

Yeah, probably. I see no reason the Horneaters would use the Vorin calendar.
-
This old WoB would seem to say so: Side note, I can't believe he literally said what the Dawnshard is ("the concept of change"), in response to someone mentioning "the things you find [in Akinah]", and yet it was phrased so that it wasn't obvious that he just blatantly said it.... wow.

If Wisdom is the hiding Shard, which is not confirmed but I find likely, we do know it over time has changed its mind on survival being top priority.
