  1. I feel like Shallan is going to become VERY important to Navani in the coming battles. Illumination can produce sounds. ...Shallan can semi-automate the Rhythms for Honor, Cultivation, and Odium, possibly even with the intent of Inverting the tones, to mass-produce anti-voidlight to kill off the Fused with. And who knows, maybe Warlight will be of use to Radiants; we now know that Voidlight's emotional impact on a person is basically Rioting (Hmmmm) their currently active emotions, so if Warlight does that AND the "urge to action" of Stormlight, that could be great at enhancing morale. ...inb4 Kaladin develops a Warlight addiction because it works as an antidepressant to an extent.
  2. He literally can no longer see his own path forward. He is forced to rely on others to guide him.
  3. *giggling way too much at this*
  4. Betrayal. And they just want to be left alone and hidden forever.
  5. Actually, I had a related thought a couple days ago; What if Unity is divided (ha) among the 3 Bondsmith Spren? Bringing them together, Uniting them with proper Radiants, would be key to reforging Unity... Remaking it? Change did mention Remaking with a capital R, in regards to Rysn...
  6. I like it! Maybe to truly defeat Odium we must unite these 4 bondsmiths (and that includes returning Ishar's Honorblade to him) to wield Unity against him.
  7. Is it somehow possible that the Unite Dawnshard is distributed among the 3 Bondsmith spren?
  8. Many thanks.
  9. My personal, very crackpot hypotheses with minimal evidence for the 5th oath's effect are as follows: 1. The bond deepens sufficiently to make the spren and Radiant indistinguishable spiritually, and so they become a single entity with the most efficiency in holding Stormlight that the Radiant can have. They have complete understanding of their Surge pair, and so can naturally use it in ways that others cannot without proper instruction. 2. (and this is the less likely one) The radiant gains the ability to command their order's Essence (air, smoke, fire, crystal, etc) to move as they desire, consuming Stormlight in the process. The evidence for this is pretty flimsy; the beta Radiants were once all capable of Soulcasting, but only to make stuff into their own order's essence. This would basically be that concept reimagined now that the Surge of Transformation exists. (And yes, this means 5th ideal Stonewards are Earthbenders, pretty much). Of course, the big evidence against either of these is our favorite herald, Nale. He's a 5th oath skybreaker... But afaik he hasn't needed to smokebend (jeez that sounds weird... need a better term), and maybe the benefits of the fusion are less pronounced for him because he's a Herald and is therefore a cognitive shadow, maybe his body doesn't change appearance like others might, though... We don't see his spren on screen do we? Hm.
  10. I think we may have seen this in action; Doesn't Szeth partially(!) unsheathe Nightblood and then punch someone in the spine with enough force to shatter it? I recall that happening somewhere, but I don't remember where.
  11. I want to see this in book 6 now... Storm you and your fun ideas.
  12. Precisely. Who better to take Jesrien's place than the person who got rid of him and, in the opinion of many, deserves the torture?
  13. This sort of thinking (and indeed, the vision itself) is what makes me hope for a Moash Redemption Arc. *Immediately Soulcasts a bucket of water in case I get burned at the stake* But in all seriousness, he's got Jesrien's storming Honorblade. Sure, it makes for a convenient way to have an "evil Windrunner" because he doesn't need Oaths, but at the same time... I just have a feeling about it. They're of HONOR. It's in the NAME.
  14. Further Dawnshard spoilers/Dawnshard-relevant WoB spoilers:
  15. Being too late to save people with Progression? That sounds kinda cop-out-ish though...
  16. I mean, spren are cognitive entities. I think any bond to one of them will make something approach sapience. Investiture seeks to become like that in the first place.
  17. Maybe you need the Sibling Bondsmith to properly use those effects in Urithiru, and the fabrials help sustain the effects?
  18. Honestly, I agree about Connect and Unite being very similar. I want to say there's a Destroy Dawnshard as a counterpart to Survive, maybe? Hmm... but that gets too close to Ruin specifically without needing a second Command...
  19. ...Wait, no, wouldn't you be able to have 16 combinations? Say, splitting Adonalsium into 4 pieces, then those pieces into 4 again... Ah, right, you specified UNIQUE combinations. But what if we instead stipulate that the order of Commands matters... Unite > Unite Unite > Change Unite > Survive Unite > Connect Change > Change Change > Unite Change > Survive Change > Connect Survive > Survive Survive > Change Survive > Unite Survive > Connect Connect > Connect Connect > Unite Connect > Change Connect > Survive Yep. 16 pairs. The reason this might be applicable is that this would let us categorize the shards like, say... Cultivation being Change > Survive. She's the Survival Shard (ha) of the Change Quadrant of Shards. Cultivation: Changing something for its Survival. As for why Survive > Change isn't the same, well... Surviving to Change something doesn't quite have the same end result. The Shard would want to persist in order to keep changing things. ...Hm, Ruin? So we may be able to deduce the remaining unknown Shard Intents based on these pairs of Commands.
  20. This is pretty much what happened during the interlude between the kickstarter Dawnshard copies and the public release of Dawnshard for me.
