  1. Wait. Gravity... change... *Furiously checks the Surgebinding Chart* Gravitation and Transformation are opposites on the chart. ...Rotating it around would put Cohesion and Abrasion as the other two "dawnsurges" if we wanna go down this route...
  2. I disagree with this greatly. Odium specifically didn't absorb Ambition, Devotion, or Dominion because he DOESN'T want to change his intent. Changing his intent at all completely goes against his plans.
  3. I have a weird suspicion that Odium actually does have a Dawnshard (and it's the one that is different from all the rest, that brandon mentioned a while ago). Maybe... Passion? Or something that, if combined with the Intent of Odium, creates Passion.
  4. I think he held the Dawnshard of Creation (Create instead of Change) and that's why he literally can't hurt living things, it goes against the Command of the Dawnshard. (Edit: Oh hey my 1,000th 17th shard post, neat)
  5. "Survive". Sounds possible.
  6. Ah, dang. That's probably why the Sleepless aren't as concerned about him (though, it's not like they could stop him? ) Well Hoid still had his Yolish Lightweaving left over, was he somehow using that back then to power his Dawnshard?
  7. I found the Hoid
  8. A Voidbinding futuresight soulstamp that changes stained glass windows to depict an event that hasn't happened yet.
  9. New hypothesis: It's something called Dawnplate and that's why it's specifically for the protector of the Dawnshard. Something different from normal Radiant plate, but not entirely unfamiliar...
  10. So of course the burning question (in my mind) is what the HECK would happen if an actual Shard (of Ado) picked up a Dawnshard... ...Is this how the end of Stormlight will be unique compared to Mistborn? Dalinar puts Honor and Change together?
  11. Nikli tells Rysn that she's forbidden from bonding a Spren and becoming a Radiant now that she's a Dawnshard, and we know that the Dawnshards were used (at least in part) to Shatter Adonalsium, and that part of the weapon that Shattered Adonalsium is why Hoid is immortal. So assuming that that equates to Hoid being a Dawnshard like Rysn, that... That's interesting. Because Hoid DOES have a Spren, the Cryptic that almost bonded with Elhokar. HMMMMMMMMM. Just a thought I had.
  12. Inb4 Fused with living Blades and Plate, or something...
  13. I mean, we won't know unless Cord decides to try and see if her new Plate actually does grant extra powers like an Honorblade would, and why would she do that? Someone will have to spill the beans later.
  14. I wonder if a Kandra can mimic Hordelings...
  15. Iiiii would probably go with... Hmm... Betrayal. It fits me well.
  16. The burning question of my mind with regards to Illumination is if a sufficiently knowledgeable lightweaver could manipulate quantum field vibrations other than in the electromagnetic field (photons). Sound waves kind of implies you can, but not really...? Particle accelerator Shallan???
  17. Ahem AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! Ok I just needed to get that out of my system after just finishing reading it. Also I feel like there are 4 shards that conform to each Dawnshard's Command, so... Ruin and Cultivation + 2 others?
  18. Alright, yeah, I did forget about Oathbringer since it wasn't focused on quite as much. But you are right, Maya isn't the only example.
  19. @Quantus Ninja'd you on that first WoB, lol.
  20. The answer is, "kind of". The ability to be powerful in the Surges is more limited by your supply of Stormlight than any innate "potency" in the Surges. What you'd want is a greater fuel efficiency, so to speak. The Honorblades aren't great in that regard, especially compared to a 5th Oath radiant, who is really the only person that would need to have another way to improve their Surgebinding. in other words, it's not like Allomancy where there's a limit to how fast you can burn metal for an effect.
  21. None of them have shown the same signs of a return to sapience that Maya has, though. I think a proto-bond on the level of Adolin's is still important to restoring a deadeye.
  22. Rlain as the Sibling bondsmith has never been something I want as badly as I do now...
  23. So Adolin might join his brother as a half-voidbinder... but presumably with the void version of Progression instead.
  24. Because there are only 10 surges, and the pairs are... naturally like that. There's merely no room for the others.
