First off, this show is great, and I love it. A good portion of these questions will be answered in season 2. Not sure how much spoilers offend you, so I'll put it in spoiler tags on this. This is very true. The plot is, honestly, not even very "centra" to the show. Several episodes will go by without ever touching on the "main" plot, and will instead focus on interactions between several of the main characters.

I just went out and checked amazon as well, they appear to sell it digitally also (not on prime), for roughly the same price. So it's a "pick your poison" kinda thing, i suppose.

New episodes totally start next week. Can't wait. I love this show. You can buy the episodes online on google play TV/movies for a couple bucks each. That's the only place that I'm aware of they're released digitially (legally). I'm not sure how quickly they update, though. I.E. i dunno if it will have the new episodes right after they air. That said, there's usually less than legal ways to view just about anything online, not that I'm necessarily advocating that..... So other than the above ways, you'd have to watch 'em on the disney channel.

Off topic, but have you ever watched the showtime TV show "Penny Dreadful"? It's set in a victorian-era london setting, and it has the character Dorian Gray from "The picture of dorian gray" and is a pretty good depiction (IMO) of a highly charismatic bisexual male character, though he is highly promiscuous and flirtacious.

Just been playin' the long con all these years. And you suckers bought it!

Has Anyone Really Been Far Even as Decided to Use Even Go Want to do Look More Like?

I ended up purchasing this yesterday as well. Played for maybe 20 minutes. Seems like it has potential. I quickly learned to launch it in "low memory" mode, because not doing so made it murderous on my PC.

I've been wanting to get it, but just from what i've been hearing, the game is super unoptomized at the moment, which is hampering the playability unless you have a super high end system. So i was planning on waiting until they get it into a more playable state for "middle of the road" systems.

When I was younger, I always found the term "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" confusing. I didn't even know for the longest time that they were the same thing as "mormons", I always thought it was just like a single church down the street. Locally to where i grew up, i saw commercials on PBS pretty commonly that ended with "Brought to you by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" which is what made me think that it was like, just a church i could just visit down the street or something. It took a number of years before I realized it was really the name of an actual religion, not like the name of some specific building somewhere. It took even longer before I found out that mormons = LDS.

Hey, folks. Just wanted to pop in here and give everyone a reminder to be courteous of others, and to please engage in polite discourse. No one is in trouble here, and no posts have been considered inflammatory here, I just recognize that this particular topic pretty commonly blows up in general on the internet with arguments/flame wars. So far all the posts have been just fine, but I just wanted to put in a reminder.

For me, my beard always itches at a certain length (just beyond the peach fuzz state) and is itchy for a few weeks or so, before it starts getting longer and the itchiness goes away. It seems like there's a certain length where its short enough and rigid enough that small movements cause the hairs to rub you the wrong way or something.

It depends; Do i get to take back all my current wisdom and knowledge to my younger self, then upon reaching my current age, get the choice again with the same conditions so that I can do so ad infinitum until i become a supreme being of infinite intelligence? If that's the case, then sign me up! Otherwise, probably not. I'm comfortable with who I am, and pretty much always have been. I learned when i was pretty young that I shouldn't care what other people thought of me, so it make highschool/college/grade school pretty easy for me. I wouldn't mind being younger because getting older sucks physically, but I don't have any desire to go back and repeat/undo my past. Not that I've never made mistakes, it's just that I'm happy with who I am, where i've been, and where i've gotten to. I've never really struggled with self-image issues or depression or anything, so going back to highschool wouldn't be like going into my "dark years" kind of thing, I just have no desire to undo my past, and highschool definitely wasn't my "glory days" by any means. However, I did actually enjoy going to school. I enjoyed learning new things, and now I just have to take it upon myself to learn new things, because i no longer have school there to guide me. Unfortunately, i've noticed this attitude (my attitude overall) isn't exactly common, though. Which is why I can understand why people would dread reliving certain parts of their life. Most people are afraid of adult life because they "don't know what to do", but I've found being an adult is made easier once you realize that EVERYONE is in the same boat. No one has any clue what they're doing. The whole "fake it until you make it" thing is more real than some people realize.

Is anyone here not in college?
Eerongal replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Eero is about ~10 years graduated from college and well into his career phase of life. I think Eero is also the oldest on the moderating team, just barely beating out Shiv. Not the oldest on the forums period, but definitely up there. -

No, no, you're fine! Like I said above, I'm not here to single out or punish anyone. So far, the responses have been perfectly fine and civil. I just wanted to be pre-emptive in case things start to get out of control. I know the subject of MLP can be controversial in other places on the internet, and I didn't want anyone to get the same feeling from here.

FYI guys, I just wanted to pop in here and give everyone a reminder to keep it civil. We pride ourselves here at 17th shard with maintaining a community of a higher standard by being comprised of rational, understanding folk. No one is being singled out here, and I'm not here to punish anyone, I just recognize that this topic has the potential to spiral out of control into a flame war and figured I outta do my job as a moderator. Just wanted to let you guys know that I will be paying attention to this topic as a precautionary step. As for the prevalance of MLP fans, we have no plans to moderate what our community is allowed to express interest in, and the explosion of fans of said series is a relatively new event for our community (within the past year or so). To an extent, I believe a number of members had no showing/incliniation towards the series until other members starting cropping up as fans. Never watched the show myself, and don't really have any interest, but people are allowed to like whatever they want regardless of my opinions.

"Being the person to set up the forums" is kinda cheating, in my opinion, when it comes to comparing member numbers.... But yeah, i've always found the fact that the community keeps itself going to be something super awesome, if it hinges on the mods/admins to keep things alive, then the site might as well be dead....

The list of active/popular sharders has changed several times since its inception here. There were a bunch of people who no longer visit here who used to be quite popular years ago, like Sweetness or Emeralis. By my count, i've seen some pretty big shift in the "known/popular" sharders at least 3 or 4 times since this site started. Most of the Admins usually remain relatively popular, even though many of them come and go every so often (except chaos who's pretty much always around). There's also a number of people from TWG who migrated over here when it started who've pretty much phased out of existence these days. Back when this place started it was almost exclusively TWG folks (which is where this site started at) /ancient-sharder-talk (i'm member number 36!)

If you want a co-op board game, one of my personal favorites is Eldritch Horror. It's basically a spiritual successor to Arkham Horror, and plays so much better than it. If you want Co-op with a bit of vs to it, I can't recommend Mansions of Madness or Descent 2nd Edition enough. These basically play like call of cthulhu/D&D (respectively) lite, and is an adversarial game with the game master vs a group of players. Also, it's not really a "board" game (its a card game), but Sentinels of the Multiverse is also a great co-op game.

This is known as "Security through minority". You're effectively relying on you not being a juicy enough target for someone to direct a focused attack at you. Which is true and generally fine for the every day consumer, but this and the slightly related concept of "security through obscurity" are both frowned upon in a professional world. At the end of the day, there's NO WAY to be 100% safe aside from unplugging the internet and keeping it unplugged. It's also worth noting that the concept mentioned in the original post IS TRUE. It's entirely, 100% possible to store malware in an image file. That said, generally executing said malware either requires you to be viewing it with a compromised viewer, or to perform special steps to remove the malware and execute in manually. Now, simply visiting compromised sites can also potentially install malware, which is a more realistic attack vector than the above stated possibility. At the end of the day, so long as you're running firewall, antivirus, and simply not installing every random bit of software when the ad promises you free TV/Movies/Games/whatever, you'll probably be ok.
