  1. Did you check Brandon's website? There are a number of WoK Prime chapters available (including some from Dragonsteel): https://brandonsanderson.com/the-way-of-kings-prime-jeksonsonvallano/ There are also a couple of readings that Brandon has done at various signings on Arcanum (look at the "reading" tag): https://wob.coppermind.net/events/181-stormlight-three-update-4/#e3808 https://wob.coppermind.net/events/367-skyward-release-party/#e11593
  2. Are you thinking of this one, which confirms that it's not Spook's body?
  3. One big difference is that the Emperor is not truly bound to his location, there are just consequences to leaving. Whereas spren and Cognitive Shadows are actually prevented from leaving their area. The other difference is that Splinters and Cognitive Shadows are actually made entirely from Investiture, while the Emperor is just being affected by Investiture.
  4. Skyward is not in the Cosmere, so there are no Stormlight crossovers. It is, however, in the same universe as an old short story of Brandon's, Defending Elysium, which can be found on Brandon's website. Here's a listing of all of Brandon's available works, including his unpublished ones:
  5. Okay, looks like we have enough people to start playing. Here's the link to the Gameboard - does it look okay to everyone? @Babilarian Darkeyes and I will work to get the keycard and give the first clue soon. Other people are welcome to join at any time. Just post or message one of us and we'll add you
  6. Here's a list of the locations of all the unpublished works:
  7. I always thought that the voidspren were made by Odium, not corrupted from H/C spren.
  8. Everything on Scadrial (the plants, animals, and the planet itself) is a combination of both Preservation and Ruin. Humans just have a little more Preservation than Ruin. Excerpt from The Hero of Ages on the Scadrial page:
  9. I can do Spymaster this round (hopefully I'll have a better showing than Game 9...) I like the idea of an Investiture theme (i.e. magic systems and Invested people, places, and objects)? I thought that last game was really good in that there were a lot of cross-planet clues (unlike the character-themed round).
  10. Tanavast directly claims to be the Almighty in one of Dalinar's visions (WoK ch 75)
  11. I'm in. Also, any volunteers for Spymaster?
  12. Or Cultivation was just aware that this superweapon was on her planet.
  13. I like the symmetry of the Bondsmith spren being of Honor, of Cultivation, of the planet itself. The Heralds' powers came from the Honorblades, which provided a direct access to Honor's Investiture. They did not bond spren. The Radiant spren imitated the Honorblades when they later developed the Nahel bond (which is why the "default" shape of a Deadeye is a sword).
  14. That is not what that WoB says. This is the full text: Note that it says "traditionally." I.e. Not within the scope of what Bondsmiths have historically been able to do. However, things are different this time around, so anything's possible. Saying "Dalinar can't do it" is super misleading.
  15. Yeah, it's temperature and pressure. See the figures here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phase_diagram
  16. A few points: The Stormfather had to have been sentient long before Tanavast's death. He was a Radiant spren. You are correct that Cognitive Shadows can't become Vessels. However, non-humans can be Vessels too. In fact, we know that there was a Sho Del Vessel.
  17. The Coppermind (the Cosmere Wikipedia) is a great resource for these kinds of questions: https://coppermind.net/wiki/Death_Rattle https://coppermind.net/wiki/Nergaoul#The_Thrill
  18. They might not actually repel Shades - it could just be superstition.
  19. Wouldn't the Nightwatcher and the Stormfather also be included in the "primordial spren"?
  20. Welcome to the Shard! You can find the site rules here: https://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6-a-welcome-to-17th-shard-and-the-rules/ Other good resources are the Coppermind (the Cosmere Wikipedia) and Arcanum (a searchable archive of everything Brandon's ever said about the Cosmere).
  21. You can find links to all of Brandon's unpublished works here: You can find an exhaustive list of all the rankings here: With respect to pre-Shardic magic systems, in addition to the Yolish ones, we know that the Surges have always existed on Roshar. The Aethers are likely to be post-Shattering (i.e. associated with a Shard) whenever he gets around to writing them.
  22. There's a very important distinction between lashing someone and adhering them to a wall - with lashing they can move; adhered they cannot. Also, I would guess that Adhesion is more efficient than Gravitation. While Gravitation allows for the most exciting abilities (i.e. flying), the projectile deflection and the aforementioned space travel aren't too shabby either.
  23. Great job everyone! What did you all think of the location-based round?
  24. I think @Stark made it pretty clear that that was his theory, not a fact.
  25. It's pretty clear from the text that the Sibling is spren on the order of the Stormfather and the Nightwatcher (which are sometimes referred to as godspren). From OB chapter 111, a conversation between Dalinar and the Stormfather:
