Though actually I'd skip to whatever interludes in the first set are not the one that was released in Brandon's newsletter. I want to dig right into the new material!
I don't react to the news immediately. It sinks in and forces the ancient beast to wake. It stirs and opens a single eye and then two. I grimace visibly for a moment, but I keep the caged. "We must take care. This Wyrn found this camp and was able to abduct Daolan without being challenged. It is obvious that we must get Daolan back, but we cannot stay here. The army will have to subtly move camp. If Wyrn brings an army this encampment will be obliterated. We will have to move quickly. This camp must be moved and a select team will have to retrieve Daolan."
No. No. The best was when the stormfather took physical form and handed control of the highstorms to Lift. He goes on vacation in the Reshi Islands and retires there.
I storm into the tent. Authority radiates off of me. Waves of light swirl around me. I take in the scene stoic as always. My voice is calm as I approach my friends. "It is obvious that something is going on here. Daolan is nowhere to be seen. You have fled here. What is going on and how can I help?"
Honestly, for the money even a simple inscribed, signed, and numbered copy would have been enough for me. The swag and release party ticket are icing as far as I'm concerned.
Perhaps you'll even end up in Brandon's creative writing class!
Lucky!! I ordered from Weller as well and have not gotten my swag yet. Though I suppose being on the east coast would slow it down. I'm looking forward to the launch party it will be a first for me. I'm hyped up!
Just at this moment the voice of a ranting gilbert gottfried popped into my head!
That would actually play really well and allow for a different type of interpretation of the Edgedancer oaths.
*Bows low with a flourish.* It took time to convince me to do it. I had to be prodded before I agreed. However, that being said without the support of my fellow sharders and others I might have given up long ago.
It goes without saying that these chapters were a gift of the highest order at a time when such a thing was needed. Thank you to those who made it possible!!
I relax my posture if only slightly. I nod ever so slightly in recognition of his statement. "I was immortal until a short time ago. An enemy cursed me and stripped myself and my late wife of our immortality. I can now be killed or harmed as any mortal."
"A wind deity could be an asset. I know much of these things. You need not trust me on my word you can ask Fadran, whether I ever expect or demand trust. In time I think that my actions will speak for themselves."
@Wind
"I find it most doubtful. I have not slain a deity in eons and I would remember having killed a spirit of the air. I am the master of the winds and skies. Warmth answers to me. Mindscapes bow low before me. I am not quite a god, but nearly so. I'm an ancient who was once immortal, but is so no more."
I sense something upon the air before I hear a booming voice. My being connects with the whole of the realm. I dam up the winds and shed their protection. Gently and reluctantly I release my hold on my daughter. I exit the tent and calmly walk around the tent toward the shouted words. "What is this?" Icy veins rushes through my question.
You are not wrong. With Ishar and Nale being allied in some way no action is likely to come from him. He is probably just protecting the rear and keeping his own lands intact.
