    "She makes demands. I would instead ask that you see reason. My offer will make you the most powerful man in this kingdom. Forget her demands and pay attention to this." I toss the sword so that it lands at his feet.

    "It would seem that you are a zealot. A pragmatic man might have seen that there is much to be gained through temperance." The ruby vanishes in the blink of an eye. "However, if you desire something more perhaps I can offer it to you." I once again call a blade of light to my hand. "I saw your interest in one of my blades. Nigh indestructible and unequaled by any on any world. I will give it to you as payment."

    Despite the pressurized nature of the room I am calm. I fix my gaze on Psyder. "You have made your point. Enough. You have terms. We would discuss these terms. You seem to be a pragmatic man. In exchange for time to discuss this issue perhaps we can offer you a temporary payment." I reach into my mindscape and sift though the rubble. A large ruby bust appears before me. It is shattered. A fist sized chunk materializes in my right sand. "This ruby for time to consider your condition and allowing Daolan to continue living." @Ookla the Grammatical @Ookla the Channelknight

    @Ookla the Sarcastic I'm in almost the same situation as Kingsdaughter613. I however have a few hours early Friday. If the assignments are posted later than about noon on Friday things could dicey.

    "I find it interesting that you think that I am making idle threats. You need not fear me alone. Though you would be wise to realize something." I dismiss my blades. "Making the mistake of thinking that you have the upper hand will be your undoing."

    I step into the room having heard the back and forth that is going on. The creature within me roars to kill these fools and paint the room with their blood for wasting my time. I suppress this urge and my face remains a stoic mask. "It seems that we are at an impasse. Though perhaps not. We can of course insist that you come with us." Two short blades of light appear in my hands.

    "A deal it is." I nod and begin to ascend the stairs.

    "You joke Fadran. I most certainly do not. You ran in here without taking care that an enemy could have been waiting for you." I push off of the wall. "We are brothers born of fires Fadran. We protect each other. Never become disillusioned."

    "We must all take care Fadran. This side of my nature is a dangerous thing, but not more so than that which we face. Don't take too many more risks than you must Fadran. In this short time the Fellowship has become like my family. I would not have something to any you because care was not taken."

    I look up at Fadran, the slightest hint of blood lust combined with my terror shine from within. Wearily, I lean against the right stairwell wall. I smile grimly. "I wish I could lie to Fadran and say that everything is fine. You deserve better though. I was a warrior once. Fadran. Mighty and terrible. As a god I was a force of not just nature, but also destruction. That part of my nature has been locked away for a long time and it wants out."

    I shake my head in disappointment. With care I ascend. Everything becomes sharper. Scents stab at my nostrils while every sound is increased a thousand fold. My eyes take in everything and forget nothing. The air within the staircase seems to buzz with unfettered energies. My hold slips and I see so many things that had long since rested. A field strewn with legions whom I alone had shattered. Their blood covers me in scarlet and is an ocean that drowns the earth. Cities aflame their walls rubble beneath my feet. Armadas obliterated and being tossed in a stormy sea. Crimson blades hacking away at the shields of countless infernal lords who plead for mercy. They vanish and I am frozen in the middle of the stairwell.

    I quirk an eyebrow. "If you insist. "

    Despite the seriousness of the situation I chuckle. "If we survive this. We can bring up this issue with Fox. The next question would be if you are from my side or the other."

    I look around cautiously. With a thought I command the winds to capture our words. "She does not have a father or any other family in the world. I have never had a daughter nor do I have family. Our bond became such that unofficially adopting her seemed the right choice."

    I crest the wall. Thirsty flames rise again. I see flesh that can be broken and for a moment I consider shedding blood. In an instant I strike the beast down. With a shudder of weakness I follow Fadran.

    I owe three more expressions of thanks so let us begin.

    1) Though I cannot claim to be closer than the average fan and even though he won't see this. I would like to express thanks nonetheless to Brandon for the work that he produces and the dedication that he has to us the fans!!

    2) Next I would like to thank all of the mods on the shard. Without your work to make this place as awesome as it is the shard would undoubtedly be worse off for!!

    3) I would like to at this juncture specifically offer thanks to those sharders who decided to follow me. I am grateful to all of you simply for being as awesome as you are. This place would not offer the kind of experience that it does without you. Therefore, from the depths of my heart I thank you!!

    After a moment of hesitation I quickly begin to ascend the ladder after the others.

    I nod. "I know this well. After many eons I have learned this all too well."

    "If so let them come." For a moment the monster emerges. "Let them see. It will be the last thing that they ever see." I shove the creature back into its cage. "If necessary there are steps that we can take." My expression is neutral.

    "That would require a spell of a most particular nature. I know it's type. It is costly. I have not cast such a spell."

    "Hardly. In my current state I can only hold this for so long. It is draining."

    No emotion appears on Rish's face, but within a spark bursts alight. Rish takes a step forward and the cup in Vapor's hands explodes in a burst of power. "Such power and promise. Yet you were too foolish to follow even simple instructions. How will you ever learn." The waters melt, rear up as a lion and slam into Vapor. "If you will not learn the easy way you will learn the hard way." "We are hidden for now. I have bent the light of day around us. None will see us." @Condensation @Channelknight Fadran
